oops, I was sure I had it load the 12 butt by default.
I will take a look tomorrow.
The error is because the 6 butt can't display 12 butt.
Try going into advanced config and then 'Menu' comm man settings, and change it to default.

If the error is when you do the AutoDetect in RUUWrapper.exe, Forguet that.
assigne in the RUUWrapper.exe your [SPL] and the [Is it Hard-SPL], and push Next.
The last Pandora Tools have something where RUUWrapper.exe not detect the SPL!!!

because I never use Auto Detect.
Infact, from a suggestion from Sleuth255 to someone alongtime back, I often flash with my device in bootloader.

Is anyone else getting a "file is corrupt" message when extracting the nbh file from the zip?
I'm tethering on EDGE and wanted to see if it could be something on my side before i re download.
Edit: Downloaded again from the sendspace link, same issue, "! (File Path)\Berds 4.31 SS(2).zip: CRC failed in RUU_signed.nbh. The file is corrupt"
The mirror that was posted, does that have the latest version?

I second the motion!
6 -8 months ago when I started reading the Hermes forum, there was flaming all over the place, and ego's to match. Not to name any names - but a most of them are no longer here. I'm happy to say it's improved SIGNIFICANTLY over the past few months - and I'm happy to see berdinkerdickle, RanDomIze, and others working hard because it's FUN and a CHALLENGE to work on fixes and new stuff for our devices. I tried my normal unzip program and got an error. Shifted to IZArc to extract the files.

TugZip worked perfectly, thanks for updating so soon. I'm excited about this ROM; it's lite as a feather and has the dialer I prefer. Thank you very much!
Edit: I flashed, and it just hangs on the Windows Mobile screen during the initial boot up. I tried a soft reset; that didn't work, just hangs there (I forgot about it for 10 minutes and it was still there). I then put it into bootloader mode (I'm not sure if thats correct, I'm still semi-noob... where you hold the PWR and OK buttons and soft reset?), and was able to flash it like that, but got the same issue. I have Firefox open, but that's something I've done almost always when flashing (this site's addicting... 3 times in the last week alone!). Anything else you could recommend? I am running Vista (but have flashed many a time with it, followed MrVanx's guide to set it up).

Ok, this is my first cooked rom ever.
I based my work on DXHD1 and changed the file mxip_oemdrivers_101.provxml, using the one from the first cooked rom appeared on this forum.
This rom includes Windows Live Messenger and now this can work with whatever connection, wifi included.
I wanna thank chaimd, jugglerLKR (for his conv3 source code) and topogigi.
So, here's the rom (only PDA part), if you wanna try (I'm running it on my i780). Obviously, there's no warranty.

Or did you changed something more?

No only that file: this is my first rom and I did something simple.
It's incredible that only this small file caused so many problems with Messenger.

is it possible to post the mxip_oemdrivers_101.provxml file for us to download?
also is it possible to update the driver only onto a current device without having to flash?

when I connect MSN to gsm provider it works, but as soon I connect it to wi-fi it doesn't work on gsm anymore, neither the internet explorer... only work using wifi

If you disable wifi, it will connect with gprs again.

Can I take you a step back?
I'm running DXHD1 with radio DXHC4 and I can't seem to find WLM installed on my device.
On my original ROM version I remember fiddeling around with something on the Today screen but this seems to be missing as well.
There are many WLM* files in my \windows directory including WLMMessenger.exe and .lnk. and WLMSetup.exe Which don't seem to do anything when I click them.
Is there something missing what am I doing wrong?
How do I use messenger on my device, Wifi or GPRS

That's strange: my HD1 (which is the one you can find here) has Windows Live correctly working.
I don't know what it depends on.

could you perhaps cook an alternative ROM with RealVGA integrated? Or perhaps a guide on how you cooked this ROM, I'd try to make one myself with some additional tweaks that I would like to have.. Thank You very much!

it cant be modified but u can overwrite the file with another of the same name in rom, i ovewrote my clock.exe for htchome to direct me to open a differnt program now working on hex of htchome.dll for me to change the target indicator of alarm on alarm off indicator in htchome

My Windows Live doesnt work with dxhd1. It says: bad reception or something. with the xdhc4 rom there was no problem. can someone help me?

DXHD1 forces Windows Live to connect only through GPRS and with thew default connection. To avoid this limitation you can use the DXHD1 modded version I made. Or you can use TotalCommander to replace the culprit file with a modded version.
Look for DXHD1 in the forum: in the thread related to my modded version you'll find incstructions on how to replace the file, if you don't want to flash your phone.

Rom version change

I'm cooking my own rom and I've one small irritating problem. I've set rom version as: 1.0. In device information it shows properly, but when my pda is starting, on first splash screen it shows me that rom version is: 3.0. I know it is somewhere in nk.exe but I've problem to locate it...

You can do that from the kitchen. I know ervius kitchen has two dialog boxes on the left, sort of middle of the screen, where you can set ROM date and version. It will patch the nk.exe accordingly.
Watch it though: if you use the patched nk.exe for bluetooth sound fix, you will not be able to set the whole version to your liking, there will be some 1 digit fixed value that cannot be changed - if I recall well.
P.S.: Sorry tomme, don't really read the Trinity threads anymore. But I will take a look every now and then, promise!

That's because of the nk.exe that has already been patched. Try another nk.exe or an older buildOS.

I try on PkgToolsBuildos 4.2b3 and on 4.3b1. In BuildOS->Rom ver. in Boot there is number 3 even before I load rom. Where can I find older PkgToolsBuildos cause I'he tryied another nk.exe without luck.

it can be changed, it's just a hardcoded MOV instruction in assembly

tnyynt thank you for you answer, but even on older version situation is the same. Program always overwrite 1st digit. Here is screenshot from older version buildos+package_tools-4.1b1:

You can't change the first digit in ROM version, no matter which nk.exe you try to change.
On the old nk.exe (the one used to fix the losing password bug for some users) you'll always have 0. before whatever you want your ROM version to be.
On the newer nk.exe you'll always have 3. before whatever you want your ROM version to be.
That's something you just can't change, because it's an hardcoded value and this was the reason why my ROMs for trinity were 3.something (because when I started cooking I was using the newer nk.exe) and even after changing to the old nk.exe (to solve the losing password bug for some users - a problem I never had in my device), I had to start numbering my ROM as 0.3.something.
My advice:
If you don't have the password bug with your device, and are not planning on releasing the ROM, use the newer nk.exe and number your ROM 3.1.0, and forget about the 3..
The ROM version in Device Info is a completely different thing. That value is not hardcoded anywhere, and since it's a registry value, you can put whatever you wish and it will display properly.
In conclusion, if you're using the PkgToolsBuildos (doesn't really matter which version you're using) to change the ROM version (and this is responsible only for the value that appears on the boot screen), leave the left field as it is, and change only the right field to what you want and save changes.

I release my roms on polish forum. First nine was based on old NK.exe, so the last was 0.9. Now when I try new NK.exe I was surprised that my rom version in boot is starting from 3.
BTW. I think only first digit is hardcoded, cause I can change dot symbol by hex editing S000 file.

Clicking on today screen on right soft button (Comm Mgr.) opens the page with settings for clock and alarms.

I have a 552W and I am willing to test. But I would like to know the rollback procedure since I cant afford to be in a bricked-state even for a day

Don't worry. These network settings is a program from Asus. It's not necessary to use it. It's only to configure settings in your phone to be able to connect to internet. You can use the same tool from Microsoft (settings, connections, connections and "automatically configure connection").
These ROM is stable right now and have only few really minor bugs. The rollback procedure is easy - just download from Asus your old ROM and after connecting your phone to the computer run this program which you downloaded.

Yes testing on my p552w..if all well then will release

Works like a charm on Asus P552 (without w). As before - GPS is not working (difference between w and without w versions) but whole system is working perfectly fine and fast. Tested Matrix trailer on Core Player and got 492,18% as a result!

How can I install windows mobile 6.1 with polish language?
I downloaded from asus page rom but when I'm trying to instal it from PC I have message that language on mobile phone is different from this one I want to install. Maybe someone have wm 6.1 PL im .abi file?

Start to install again.
Let the program check your system.
When the error appears look in the folder where the firmware is.
You will find a file named tmp_rom.abi.
Copy the file in other place and rename it with the name of firmware and let the extension .abi.
Cancel the current installation.
Copy the new GM2_.....abi file on the SD card. Put the SDcard in the phone, start the phone with button down+soft reset ...the boot loader will start and install your firmware automatically.
The version/language verifying procedure is done only if you start with EXE type firmware file. With abi file the only checking is for correct name, it should start with GM2...

I already try it with no luck. While boot my asus didn't see abi file. I used name:
GM2_V5.12.0S.PLK00.00_M4.6.5.P5_V2.9.0 POL00_20081230_3050.00.abi and file was extracted from GM2_V5.12.0S.PLK00.00_M4.6.5.P5_V2.9.0 POL00_20081230_3050.00.exe I tryed also other names but it didn't work.
I have:
Device OS Ver: 0.0
Device ExtROM ID: none
Finding file: GM2 *.ABI
File not found!

As someone has suggested, could we do without those useless things like Ez**(zip/music/photo) and other things you can think of.
Another suggestion :
The right soft-key links to Comm. Manager, but opens up the Alarms menu. Please do take care of that.

Bug Report :
1) Camera Launch has a big delay(Yes my CPU is in Turbo mode)
2) Camera display is washed out/grainy (Not that I use the cam, just letting you know that your build is going to be perfect)

If your device freezes while installing FingerKeyb in the customisation, then soft reset your device and it will be fine. I'm working towards a fix for this in the next release!​
What's in the next ROM?!
I will be releasing a Lite and Loaded ROM to accomodate as many people as possible. Loaded ROM will also include Opera.

Right, new ROM for P565 users who don't need all the O2 stuff!
Also, just started using Swype as my keyboard.. this thing is absolutely amazing! Slight issue with it covering the bottom menu a bit, however I'm thinking of including this in the next build. What do you think?

something is missing in this version (LITE) I have not tested the LOADED version
I install the previous build 28005 and the change INPUT is there
but with this new build 28008 the change INPUT is missing
it is on the start menu, setting, personal, from here you can tap on input and change your type of input or any 3rd party install input keyboard but with this build 28008, the input icon is missing
can thread started confirm or did I get it wrong?

What 28008 build are you trying? If it's the Lite(ish) build then yes, the input icon was missing. Hopefully I fixed this in the latest build.
If you could check and confirm that would be great.

The Input, Owner Information and Button Config settings icons are hidden by default on this version of WM. Simply remove the value of "Redirect" from the following registry keys to re-enable them:

I did not try this rom because this one is loaded with sip changer and fingertouch which I do not need as I have fingertouch pro
I am not sure if opera is loaded as well but I do not want the extra thus I load the lite
1 more suggestion it will be useful if you can include some information on your latest build what is the extra in it.

I'm pretty sure we can't use the TouchFlo UI.. Someone else will be able to confirm/deny this..
The closest we can get is Manilla 2D or I could cook a ROM with Throttle Launcher maybe.. however I'm not a big fan of it!
As always though I'll go with what the majority or people would like to see in the next ROM.
Keep giving me your suggestions and I'll see what I can do!
The next ROM will be available in Lite and Loaded. Loaded will include SIPChange, FingerKeyboard/Swype (Not sure which yet..), Opera, Google Maps.
I'll willing to take suggestions of things to include in the Loaded ROM!

Swype appear to have had links removed....it's still available from less scrupulous sites

I still have the CAB.. but not sure if it would be right to include it in the next ROM though..
