HTC_S620_WWE_1.27.405.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship

Finally HTC have released the first WM6 upgrade for the excalibur! You need to log into the e-club to download it. The FTP server is overloaded just now though.

I tried to install it on my Dash but it does not work. Invalid model? I installed the Russian WM6 ROM earlier and had do problems. What is the problem here?
Help Please!

Im still at 50% download but if I were you I would try installing it again once the phone has gone into bootloader. Basically just run it twice.

Thanks for your advice but it does not help. The loading starts and then it stops and tells that my phone is not the right device ie. invalid model error 244.
Is this ROM for original HTC phones only? If yes, is there a way around it?

I tried the above link and only received a 528K file. Tried to run and said it was corrupted (I expected a 40+ MB file as indicated on the file hosting download page). Tried it twice.
Still waiting for the HTC FTP server to clear up

I took a network trace and see that files-upload.com is resetting the connection. This usually occurs when there's a configuration issue on the server or there's too many downloads occurring. I'm sure it's the massive amount of downloads occurring.
If somebody gets a successful download from either HTC or files-upload.com, could you please upload it to rapidshare.

jsp you are correct, just flash the SPL first and next just run the download. This looks like the Russian ROM, WWE version. Where is Excel mobile and word mobile and MS voice command? This is the same mean Joe Green look the Russian ROM has. Yahoo Go 2.0 comes with this ROM. Check out the file folder called Expert,Task Manager is located there. Yeah, its working like a charm on my Dash...........!

anyone noticed the RUS ROM has much better screen saturation? This one looks pale.. it's not a big deal, but just like it the RUS' way..

installs on vista with no problems!

This still requires a CID Unlock correct?

Are you referring to the homescreen and/or color scheme, or all the screens in general?

Ok so the first thing you need to customise is the home screen. I much prefer the recent app lists at the top so it is the first selected. Copy\Application Data\Home\HTC.home.xml off the device, use properties to make it not read only, open in notepad, and move the MRU list plugin entry above the Date/Time/Carrier Plugin. Then copy the file back after either deleting the original or making it not read only. Then choose a different homescreen then go back to the HTC one to see the change.
I've also attached the edited htc homescreen.

no, not the background files, but the screen in general.. it used to happen on Tornado that different RUUs make different saturations in the screen
This WM6 really looks much more pale than the Test RUS one, but I can live with it if I have to.. (is there any app to tune that?).. RUS was much more vivid

i have unlocked my phone. I got the code from tmobile when I try to install the rom it tells me invalid model? Any one else get this?

Remapping IE button.

Does anyone know how to remap the IE button (T-zones) with the HTC rom? I've searched but I can only find info for the T-mobiel rom. The HTC rom doesn't seem to have the lnk files. Thanks.

Hello, I want to be able to do this but not sure how to edit the file as it has no file extension.
Also, I would like to launch opera mini but its a java midlet so unsure how to reference it directly like you would do a programme.

I am totally lost here. I kindda understand what the Wiki explains but to use it I get stuck. I am completely new to this whole business. bought a used blue angel (everything working on it) with a WM 2003 on it italian language. all I wanted was to swith from italian to english (or WWE as you guys call it). I do know that my ROm is 1.12.24 ITA Radio 1.03 and no value for extRom. that is what it showed when I tried to use one of the numerous updates available on XDA. first it showed me error 102 checksum error then country ID error. so I used the Ruu file and added the Checkceid_1 command as u suggested on wiki for blue angel. anyway I am stuck. now even the WM2003 italian is no longer available since I hard-reseted my BA. all I see now on the screen is windows mobile with some italian gibberish under it.
Serious help needed please.

Hi, the zip file only includes a link and not the file itself.

Copy the link to the Windows directory on your phone. This will make the IE button bring up the Task Manager. If you want it to execute something else, edit the link. I used Total Commander for the editing.

because the nbh can't be much bigger then it's now I can't add programs without removing other apps.
SO there is no way for me to add Opera, Office or MSN to this rom
I will make a correted version later but first play with this one a bit so I can get more reports on whats working and whats not

Version to did boot but stops at alignment screen after looking inside my kitchen i found that there was no touch.dll so Beta 3 uploaded now

I believe that the nbh file can't be bigger then 65MB and the first version was around 75mb
I have removed Opera and Office from beta 2 to get the size down to 63mb
if it is now working I will try to find a way to get at least Office back in Opera can be installed as a cab so can Office
Opal/Touch Pro apps (mixed to make packs work)
I need you to test what is working and whats not
I don't have an Artemis so I can't test and I wan't be fixing bug untill I get an Artemis
Please don't post stuf like I can't wait or downloading

no as I stated in first post I don't have a Artemis so I can't test and I don't want to upload every try I make untill I get it right.
I just have to wait til I get a cheep Artemis somewhere

That was what i've told you. You can't extract that ROM. Only if you ask the cooker for his kitchen.

I think so, but not sure.
I read somewhere that the maximum ROM size is 65Mb, but has i told you i'm not sure.

I just downloaded the diamonish rom to see and it's size is 63 so I would guess that could be it.
I will try to remove some stuff
to get down to around 65 mb
I have removed Opera and Office and will upload the new version now the nbh file is now 63 mb so well know if it's was a size prob or not

furthermore, this release is still 128 dpi right? Will check if I can build in the 96 dpi files..

The ROM is only the PDA Part. Seems to be working OK till now! All functions working OK. The Mobile feels a bit more fast also. It is the 128 DPI version. All regular functions are there . An addition is the CNN Link in the Programs folder.
Will test it and then post more feedbacks.
knights191 Can you tell us how to make the flash able ROM from the dumped image.

hi people,this rom has 128 dpi but i wonder that does it have eboot+pda+phone or just pda section_? is it possible to make .img file to upgrade totally( eboot+pda+phone) ? another question is that as raw files there are 3 files ( raw01 raw02 and raw03) do they refer also raw01=eboot ,raw02= phone?
pls anyone who upgraded this rom can put some screen of their phones?

the file from the first post contains only the raw-files! could somebody post the bin file please!? and furthermore it would be nice if somebody could answer: is this really an official wm 6.1 rom for i780?

Yes this ROM is the PDA part only and is 128 DPI. I am also waiting for someone to upload the full Phone + PDA ROM, or may be one of the seniors can tell us more about creating flashable ROMs from the dump, The directions in the EFNs Kitchen were not very lucid.

well i am afraid that it is impossible to get phone and boot section from raw files.but i still wonder that part01.raw and part00.raw refer to phone and boot sections? i know that from part02.raw u can get pda section of rom.by the way drrkgupta, did u try all connections and window live messenger?

wm6.1 works little faster than wm6.0

benveq I too think that the raw 1 and 3 refer to the phone part. May be if Ahtiang or someone else contacts some senoir member they can guide them too dump full ROM I mean the Phone + PDA part .
I am still trying out the connections. Will update when I am through with it.

well as i read from topics part00.raw and part01.raw files includes boot+phone sections and i am 100% sure but i really dont know how o extract them and merge to a totally bin file pls help who knows how to do it!

Yes I too am of the view that the whole of PDA + Phone are in the dump. The combined file size too is similar to the Asian and the Russian ROMs. May be some senior memebers or the Master Chef EFN can help.

Clicking on today screen on right soft button (Comm Mgr.) opens the page with settings for clock and alarms.

Don't worry. These network settings is a program from Asus. It's not necessary to use it. It's only to configure settings in your phone to be able to connect to internet. You can use the same tool from Microsoft (settings, connections, connections and "automatically configure connection").
These ROM is stable right now and have only few really minor bugs. The rollback procedure is easy - just download from Asus your old ROM and after connecting your phone to the computer run this program which you downloaded.

Yes testing on my p552w..if all well then will release

Works like a charm on Asus P552 (without w). As before - GPS is not working (difference between w and without w versions) but whole system is working perfectly fine and fast. Tested Matrix trailer on Core Player and got 492,18% as a result!

Start to install again.
Let the program check your system.
When the error appears look in the folder where the firmware is.
You will find a file named tmp_rom.abi.
Copy the file in other place and rename it with the name of firmware and let the extension .abi.
Cancel the current installation.
Copy the new GM2_.....abi file on the SD card. Put the SDcard in the phone, start the phone with button down+soft reset ...the boot loader will start and install your firmware automatically.
The version/language verifying procedure is done only if you start with EXE type firmware file. With abi file the only checking is for correct name, it should start with GM2...

I already try it with no luck. While boot my asus didn't see abi file. I used name:
GM2_V5.12.0S.PLK00.00_M4.6.5.P5_V2.9.0 POL00_20081230_3050.00.abi and file was extracted from GM2_V5.12.0S.PLK00.00_M4.6.5.P5_V2.9.0 POL00_20081230_3050.00.exe I tryed also other names but it didn't work.
I have:
Device OS Ver: 0.0
Device ExtROM ID: none
Finding file: GM2 *.ABI
File not found!

As someone has suggested, could we do without those useless things like Ez**(zip/music/photo) and other things you can think of.
Another suggestion :
The right soft-key links to Comm. Manager, but opens up the Alarms menu. Please do take care of that.

Bug Report :
1) Camera Launch has a big delay(Yes my CPU is in Turbo mode)
2) Camera display is washed out/grainy (Not that I use the cam, just letting you know that your build is going to be perfect)
