i780 new ROM - PDXHi1

There is a new RAW PDA rom part: i780PDXHi1
Can someone convert it to BIN flashable file... I'm not expert...

Link updated : I did the recompiling manually.. it should be oke now!

Please let me know if the rom is oke.. expecially connection to internet / windows live.
furthermore, this release is still 128 dpi right? Will check if I can build in the 96 dpi files..

so far everything seems OK, I'll give Windows Live a try too.

The ROM is only the PDA Part. Seems to be working OK till now! All functions working OK. The Mobile feels a bit more fast also. It is the 128 DPI version. All regular functions are there . An addition is the CNN Link in the Programs folder.
Will test it and then post more feedbacks.
knights191 Can you tell us how to make the flash able ROM from the dumped image.
Can any one upload the full ROM I mean the Phone part too.

hi people,this rom has 128 dpi but i wonder that does it have eboot+pda+phone or just pda section_? is it possible to make .img file to upgrade totally( eboot+pda+phone) ? another question is that as raw files there are 3 files ( raw01 raw02 and raw03) do they refer also raw01=eboot ,raw02= phone?
pls anyone who upgraded this rom can put some screen of their phones?

Yes this ROM is the PDA part only and is 128 DPI. I am also waiting for someone to upload the full Phone + PDA ROM, or may be one of the seniors can tell us more about creating flashable ROMs from the dump, The directions in the EFNs Kitchen were not very lucid.

The ROM Posted by knights191 is ONLY THE PDA Part . I am still awaiting the full Phone + PDA version of ROM!

well i am afraid that it is impossible to get phone and boot section from raw files.but i still wonder that part01.raw and part00.raw refer to phone and boot sections? i know that from part02.raw u can get pda section of rom.by the way drrkgupta, did u try all connections and window live messenger?

wm6.1 works little faster than wm6.0

benveq I too think that the raw 1 and 3 refer to the phone part. May be if Ahtiang or someone else contacts some senoir member they can guide them too dump full ROM I mean the Phone + PDA part .
I am still trying out the connections. Will update when I am through with it.

well as i read from topics part00.raw and part01.raw files includes boot+phone sections and i am 100% sure but i really dont know how o extract them and merge to a totally bin file pls help who knows how to do it!

Yes I too am of the view that the whole of PDA + Phone are in the dump. The combined file size too is similar to the Asian and the Russian ROMs. May be some senior memebers or the Master Chef EFN can help.

12M PP looks bit more responsible to interface.
New packages & drivers.
Tweaked several packages - for less memory use.
Tried to put all possible configs in one OEM/xxxconfig folder.
UC ready, - look to _ADDS/Internal Storage forder for example.
Mark all content of "Install" forder as "read only". Or you loose it after install or hard reset.
The best way - look inside "provision.zip" and make your own config file. Put it in "Install" folder and line as
"XML: \Storage\Install\provider.xml" to "sdconfig.txt".
Password for provision.zip you can find at the help page of Connection setup.
You need unsigned HardSPL!
Don't forget about hard reset after first install & make content of "Internal Storage/Install" READ ONLY!

i get errors when extracting. winzip says its corrupt and win rar says invalid or corrupt authenticity information. win rar will complete the extration, but i'm not about to flash anything when there are errors. maybe upload again?

at first, i have the same problem with extracting (3.8) and authentification,
but it extracts ... i dont know, if some files wouldnt extract?

i cooked my own rom ... i think its 3 houers before ...
its always the same - iam finishing with this one - than an other cooker/flasher puts a new thread and all the works begin at zero.
but that is it what we love i think.
i will use my rom for 3 or 4 houers than i will test/use your kitchen

I repeat: it's not "my" kitchen.
"My" is only changes in OEM/SYS/ROM folders.
I like this kind of kitchen for useful "stepping".
Forgot, where did I find it. Somewhere here
Bit later will be update to 20757 (HD ported).

This kitchen seems of no use to me.
It needs .nb, .wrn and other files which are'n present.
Maybe some explanating how to get them, I would like to try it.

Another question: a lot of files are from date 10th of July, for example the manila files. Does this mean these files really are so old???

If you want the alternative - look to the "_OUT" folder.

Updated to Blackstone's XIP/SYS 20757.

I just got my Diamond 2 weeks ago. I cook my first ROM using your kitchen tree but I have some questions:
1. Why the setting up screen is all black ? I thought there were some sort of Windows Mobile 6 background
2. I tried to set up bluetooth but it shows me a message box with something like "No bluetooth hardware"
I follow the instructions by just clicking !Cook.cmd. I didn't change anything in your packages. Did I do something wrong ?
Please advice. By the way, thanks for this kitchen tree.

It's just my choice: less using rom/ram memory. And not important at all. You can use yours pictures. It is the kitchen, isn't it?

I coocked my ROM with version 20755: everything's fine here with bluetooth (and all other stuff). I use bluetooth for my carkit, works fine.
I benchmarked this ROM with my usual benchmarks: it's pretty fast compared to others! I left out Opera and Google Maps, but I don't think that makes a big difference in benchmark results.
I will try your Blackstone upgrade this evening, I'm curious if that's faster than the 20755... (in fact I don;t think so).
There is one strange thing in this one: I can't change pagepool. Using pagepoolchanger.exe it says it can't find the right address...

pagepoolchanger.exe don't works to Diamond (use search - don't remember, where is the info). Use hex editor.

PagePoolChanger DOES work on most 'normal' Diamond ROMs, I've used it many times before. But I guess it conflicts with the uldr thing... no problem.

here friend... like mentioned in a PM sent you this morning... I'm porting some pieces of your base sys/xip for including in my rom (dia duit), of course I'll mention that the base rom comes from your hard work
instead of upgrading the whole sys I prefer to choose faster/smaller dlls between different sys
anyway also my rom is open, because I strongly believe that this is the only way to proceed to a faster development... by sharing infos each other
but I'll prefer to share the whole kitchen on my 1st stable release, now we are at v08, because till now my rom has some bugs

here how to change PP on diamonds:
open final .nbh file with a hex editor (I use pspad)
search the following hex value: 389FE550089FE5
as you find it change next two numbers (in an original rom, these two values are 00 25)
search again for the same hex value, again you need to modify the adjacent two values (in case of an original rom, these two values are 03 25)
values:
for pp 0 Mb: 00 25
for pp 8 Mb: 02 25
for pp 12 Mb: 0C 26
for pp 16 Mb: 10 26
of course I wasn't able to find alone... I found thx to the great & nice Seatone

I was bad surprised too. Quite big diff between close versions. About 5%, isn't it?
After trying several combination of xip/sys me like 20755 at last time.
Or xip757/sys755 - no bad too.

Early, I think. Can't to call its rom stable. Just found more bugs, think not the last for today (lighting for missed call is absent; green element in manila)

"My" looks properly worked, but by devhelth.exe - PP didn't changed.

I'm working on making my SuperJustKitchen the support the Hermes and I need someone to test this sample ROM. It's not perfect, yet, or anywhere near it, but I want to know if it at least boots.

I can get it to you when I get off work if you don't have it already. What do you need just the OEM*** folder that has nk.exe?

The NK should be in the XIP, so I need your OEMKernelXIP, although having your OEMDrivers probably won't hurt, either since it has newer drivers. (IF the OEM is new... I don't know if it is or if only the XIP is new.)

I had a problem with that one since its set to 15pp. The one I use is still by utak3r but has the correct pp set.

It's ok. By default the PP will always be set to 6mb on the kitchen and you can change it with a simple option.
Mind you, from now on, you will have to click on the "native 5.6 kernel" option from here on in the kitchen.

The kernel that Da_G posted has PP in 15mb and the EVK xiporterexe cant change the PP, but utak3r stripp even more the native kernel... and makes it change with the nbtools.exe.. so our .bat in EVK change in the line to allow nbtools change the pp.

No other files contain the .exe file to be excuted

Just Download Romupdate utility for artemis and place this nbh file there and falsh it

Thats right. I remember it was 47+ free storage and around 24 mb free program memory after flasing and resetting.

hi folks, i've found out recently that Swype v3.9.10.10.5032
(the HD2 version) has been cabbed up for use on any(w)vga device.
i've been having a hell of a job trying to convert the cab to an EXT but it keeps failing
i'd be very grateful if someone would be willing to post a working ext for this new version?

although it is 23017 its not a problem ill update it to 21895 myself(this isnt the problem

and as a cook you know there are way more ext packages besides the manilla packs

ok the sense packages are in a zip file below

unzip and add all of them to EXT>Diamond>common
the ereader and footprints are not needed as they are not ported or working fully yet.
enable them all and you should be up and running.
any other packages are optional and down to the individual
i would suggest using l3v5y's kitchens. very stable and easy to use.
i'm going to be upgrading my phone in a few weeks so will think about uploading and posting my kitchen at that stage. look out for it

as for what t add to initflash.dat ill have to come back to teel you that as i have read that swype must be added to initflash but im not sure what to add
as i dont use swype
luckily there is a kitchen uploaded in the blackstone kitchen whit swype in it
so ill check it out there if its in
otherwise i know the person who wrote it and we swich pm so i could ask him what to add

you can always try and otherwise i have looked in the app.dat file that is in the 0409 folder
it looks the same so you could also use that entire entry i think

you think it will work:-o
if you send it for repair and the manage to get it working again they will see the changed spl and rom
but i sure hope they can manage to fix it for you whitout complaining about it

lol, it's an O2 XDA, i work for em and know the process. it it doesn't boot they are likely to swap it for a reconditioned one. (at least they have in the past) it costs less than trying to fix it.
here is hoping cos i wanted to get my build working fully before my upgrade
