I think ever since I started flashing EB13 or EC05 based roms and kernals, I been experiencing thi stuttering lag and when I check setcpu, it stuck on 1200mhz clock no matter what governor its on. while this is happening, if i hit the home button, it wont go back to the home screen, just pop up the recent app window. this is an on and off issue and I dont know the root of the problem. When everything is smooth and no stuttering lag, the cpu clock is adjusting fine when I access setcpu. Any solutions or idea why this is happening? If their is a app to record the screen as a video, I will definitely upload the video or record the phone with my other working epic.
Mine used to do that back on frankenstein
Now on the acs rom (forgot which one lol) works fine

Well I never experienced this on any of my past ROMs,but with EC05 SRF base ROM I've been working on,this happens to me aswell. I'm already trying to narrow this down,I think its kernel based also (EC05 code).I have a problem with popping and static when scrolling, but I can also be listening to music with phone in pocket, and hear it lag every so often, and not at certain intervals (1 hour,2 hour) so its nothing syncing with FB or whatever that's causing the problem. So I'm pretty sure its a kernel based problem. I'm working on a DK28 kernel ROM,stay tuned... What I can't believe is that no other devs admit or see this problem, only users. But I'm sure the wheels are turning, but since I can't code yet,I'm gonna do it my way, hack up a ROM Frankenstein style

Has anyone had this issue? I'm currently running Fresh 3.1.0.1, ran Burnt, and the stock rooted OTA ROM. When I connect my phone to the USB port or into the wall, typing in messages (handcent) responds slower than normal. There is definitely a noticeable difference in response time. It corrects itself in spurts but slows down and continues to play this tug o' war. I have netarchy's latest kernel and everything runs great. When I remove the phone from the charger, I NEVER have this problem.
What's the culprit? I have setCPU set to OC and UC when screen is off.
I can confirm a similar experience using CM6

Are there really no opinions on this matter?
I noticed that I don't have the lag issue with the new multi-touch keyboard (running 2.2). It may just be that version of the keyboard.
Best of luck
Well. That was odd. I am running CM6.0.2 with Koush #4 kernel (2.6.32.15) and 2.15 radio. It's been stable for weeks. Today I decided to install SetCPU in order to get some battery back (I wanted to set the cpu lower when the display was off). So I put it in, created that profile, left everything else alone and went off to do something else in the phone. It crashed.
OK, that happens. However when it started back up again, all my apps were still there but my settings (all of them - adw and everything else) were gone AND every application was just force-closing over and over.
Has anyone seen anything like this? I am currently just reinstalling CM6 and all my apps since I can't imagine what went wrong but it seems easier. However I'd love to know if I hit a known bug or something...
Every time I try to run or even install setcpu I get random reboots. Stable if I don't run setcpu.

Same thing on my Droid. Doesn't matter what ROM. Once i start using setcpu it randomly locks up, and occasionally will unfreeze and work but mostly reboots. Uninstalled setcpu and its working fine. I didn't have any strange settings so I'm not sure what the problem was.
Using the unlock button doesn't always make my screen show up. Yet, the lights for the four buttons at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes, the screen even comes up but it keeps flickering.
Is this a known issue?

Please read the posts in the Gingervillain thread. Are you OCing?
Going through what I can of the 50something pages of the thread. And yes, I am overclocked.
Props for trying man, everybody appreciates that.
Um okay, that actually might be the problem... What are you OC at? Are you using the screen on/off animations? Are you using SetCPU?
Try to take your OC down a notch, one step at a time, and try switching the screen on and off each time to see how much you can OC and still have the screen functioning normally.
So flashing the CM7 Gingervillain ROM, there was already a kernal built in but I only maxed it out at 1401mhz. Yes, I am using SetCPU and I'm also using the custom profiles.
I'm pretty sure that 1401mhz is at a stable level because 1497mhz was even tested to be pretty stable.
I see that you are running the same ROM, but since you haven't mentioned having a similar issue, I assume you don't have this issue? I'm just scared that one day the screen won't be turning on at all.
I am currently not OC'd, since I personally don't feel the need to be. But as you can read in the other thread, overclocking has provided screen problems for tons of people. There is no border that says "Okay now your screen's gonna start acting freaky", it differs for almost everyone.
I tested it myself a while ago: I had no problems up to about 1,2 GHz, but when I mine to 1,4 or higher I had the same issues.
But like I said, it all depends, there are people who are OCing at 1,5 and have no complaints..
Overclock to 1.2 area and let us know what's up

can you give us some more info? like whether your phone's overclocked? to what frequency? what apps were running? etc...
Well I had setcpu on the cm 6:1:1 and clocked 768 I beleave it would run right then it would reboot like 2 times a day so I took of the oc and set cpu and the reboots were now random like once a day or one at all .. so jumped to cm 7:1 everything is good so I set the built in oc to 768 and it was fine till like with in a few hours it would reboot again reboots are random but like once or twice a day so removed oc and back to the stock and only once a day on none at all ... apps that I use the most and leave runinf facebook, voice, talk , sd-booster at bootup set at 1024, music most of the time, also advanced task manager by rechild, ... if more specific info is needed I'm be glad to give to help me get closer to solve the problem .. thanx

how about battery temperature? how hot does it get when you're using/not using the phone? also, by randomly reboot, does it reboot when you're using the phone or just whenever it wants?
Battery doesn't heat up at all so normal temp ... by randomly I mean when it wants.. it in the pocket and u just feel the buzz of the reboot .. again no oc and just like 3 apps running at most also have cache clener ng runing at 12hour intervolts ... also ran permistion fix threw rom manager but not sure if the fix will stick since its s-on
Edit : forgot to say wifi alway on even when sleep since the phone does not have a data plane
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
hm... idk but perhaps it's the wifi that's causing those reboots. then again, if you don't have data plan, not using wifi will just turn your phone into paper weight.
Would having it s-on be a issue in any way?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Not at all, I have S-ON and only have reboot problem occasionally when I use wifi, battery gets too hot, or something.
Oh ok ... so would their be a fix for the wifi cuz this is getting annoying I have reflashed like 5 times in hopes it was a bad flash.. and don't really see a big library of roms that ain't sense roms ...

I have had this issue with CM7 as well. Some nightlies are better than others.
To reproduce just keep toggling your wifi. Eventually the phone will reboot. I use to see "kernel panic" messages in the logcat file but the last time I captured logcat for this issue I did not see any message about a kernel panic.
Where would we post a bug for this?

Oh ok so wat u are suggesting it might be cm rom related issue ... would the wifi fix flooting around here help with the issue or have u tried the wifi fix ?

I have not tried the WIFI fix. I would be curious if other can get the reboot to happen by toggling WIFI repeatedly.
I've been using SleeperRom 2.0.4 as my daily driver for a while now and it's been perfect, but ever since Rdio updated its app i've been having playback issues. Most of the playback issues were fixed with subsequent updates of the Rdio app, but one that has not been fixed is that after playing 2 songs of an album, playback just stops. So every 2 songs I have to open the app back up and manually tell it to go to the next song.
I've thought for the last few days that this was just an issue with the app, but I went ahead and did a clean install of CleanGB, CM9, and SleeperRom to test it. and after the clean install i did not have the playback issue on CleanGB or CM9, the issue is only reoccurring on SleeperRom.
If someone uses Rdio, can you please test this with sleeperrom to see if you are having the same issue? I can give you steps on how to reproduce the issue.
I've taken the test a step further to see if it's the kernel.
Running on cleanGB with cleanGB kernel it works, and then I flashed ShadowKernel which is used on SleeperRom, and everything still works fine so it seems like the issue is isolated to SleeperRom.
Any other suggestions on how to test this further?

No suggestions? I know you guys have SOMETHING.

Uuummmm seems like he has tweaked the rom for a higher amount of free ram after those two songs it closes? Id say just don't use sleeperom since its isolated to just it?
Sent From My SPH-D700 Running Android 4.0 :sly:
The app doesn't exactly crash, it just stops playing after two songs. I have to manually skip to the next song.
I'm using CleanGB for now, which is also a great rom, I was just partial to Sleeper.
