I've just flashed my DHD using this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11557769
But didnt flash my radio, If i decied to do it later do i have to do the entire flash software again? I.e the eng s off etc?
Also now ive flashed it, if i want another custom rom on do i need to do the full above flash or can i use the rom manager app?
I'm new to this so sorry about the questions if there easy
Thanks
If you done everything correctly there's no need to to everything again before flashing the radio. Just follow this guide. Root, S-Off and such will stay after flashing a custom rom.
When you flash another rom you just have to do a full wipe.

I'm using leedroid 1.4.1 and i've updated to Buzz 1.1.4 kernel. However, i didn't update my radio before that
I've tried using the easy s-off to achieve eng s-off so that i can flash my radio to the recommended one. However, the easy s-off tool is apparently not compatible with my current ROM/Kernel
is there any way around this? my battery is really quite bad and i hope that by flashing a new radio, my battery will improve.
Hope some expert can help me!!

you can flash a radio from recovery, but the .img has to be packaged up in the .zip correctly, maybe you should pm someone with more knowledge about this, i also have only radio s-off and would like to know
If I had known better..I wld have done the Eng s-off before I did the flashing of the firmwares.
No idea that radio will be necessary to update..
You can reflash a custom rom with 1. 32 base and then you can attempt to achieve eng s-off. Do not forget to nandroid prior of reflashing so you can revert back to Lee's 1.4.1.
Cheers

oh..do i just flash as per normal or would i have to downgrade using the method as in this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
Mine is already rooted so i should be able to just flash 1.32, get eng s-off and then come back to 1.4.1?
When you say revert back to 1.4.1, does it mean that i just run recovery after i've achieved eng s-off and i can go back to 1.4.1?

Exactly that
what about downgrading to 1.32? just flash?
As long as you are rooted your real base is 1.32. You do not have anything to downgrade. You just flash a 1.32 custom rom. When i say revert i mean the nandroid backup that you create from recovery.
After finishing the s-off just boot into recovery and select backup/restore and then select restore. After it finishes restoring it will be againn at Lees 1.4.1

okay..now i'm trying to get back to 1.32..hope it works!
somehow it doesnt work..
i used modaco r2 to go back to 1.32 and tried to s-off. it says successful. after which, i restored nandroid and tried to flash the radio. it still doesnt work..get stuck at the sending radio part.
did i do something wrong?
1. Nandroid backup
2. Go back to 1.32
3. Radio S-off
4. Flash radio
5. Recover nandroid
thanks..i'll try to do that when i have access to ADB..in office at the moment.
Hi,
At this moment i'm running a rooted HD, with the revolution HD rom.
But I never flashed the radio, and now I want to flash it to the radio that is recommended for revolution.
I noticed that mine HD is nog ENG s-off, so I tried it with the easy s-off tool
But when i try the easy s-off tool, it says wrong kernel / rom.
How can i flash it? Do i need to get a stock kernel (and from where?) or is there another way to do ENG s-off ?

You are supposed to read and search through the forum before asking any question! Here is the guide for flashing the radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597
Which version of the stock ROM are you on? The easy s-off tool works like a charm.
Any plans of installing custom ROMs? Try flashing a new radio after that... ARHD2.0.9, for example, is an awesome ROM. You will not only be able to get more out of your DHD but also have complete control over it!
Sorry, but there was too many information
But i did it, thx.
The only problem i got now, is that my Gapps wont install ?

Gapps are bundled in ARHD roms so you should not have an issue here.
Hello,
So I have been reading this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11557769 about how to flash a ROM.
But do I need to flash a radio as well? Or can I just skip to the part with the flashing a ROM instructions?
Thanks!
Edit: I want to install this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045450
You dont need to flash the radio, just make sure that you do the steps for Eng s-off and Radio S-off (that is, follow all the steps in "the works" section of the how to flash a rom page)
Edit: oh and follow the "testing before flashing anything" part as well
You don't need to flash radios. They can help with better battery, signal quality, etc... or they can make it worse.
If a ROM has a recommended radio, then I would suggest flashing it, otherwise there is no need.
Do remember if you do want to flash a radio, you need ENG S-OFF.
Thank you guys! That would be all ^^
Edit: Is that ENG-S off and Radio S-off necessarily? Why can't I just put the Rom on my SD and then Recovery mode xD
I can't put those things off it keeps crashing/saying that is isn't installed right the vis+ ah well will wait for the official rom then.
Anyone ?xD

To flash radios yes they are necessary. To flash a ROM only S-OFF is required.
I must sell my desire, and i'm searching a simple stock rom but not official, because i don't want lose S-Off and recovery.
Anyone can help me ?

Download a stock rom, it is in flashable zip format. You will retain root & s-off.
Thank you
You can not flash a non-official ROM without rooting and adding a custom Recovery. S-OFF can remained unchanged.
Problem solved
In my attempt to unlock bootloader, I stupidly upgraded my software version to 3.12.405.1 while using Easy Unlock Tool, because I wasn't paying attention what it was saying in the CMD.exe. Now I'm trying to downgrade it, because I can't seem to succeed doing anything with it (Rooting, Installing CWM or changing ROM). Also, it's S-ON, so I'm trying to get it S-OFF as well.
I'm lost. Can anyone help me out here?
PS: I really don't need to be reminded that I messed up...
EDIT: I managed to root it, install CWM. What I need to do now is get S-OFF and put a custom rom (Do I really need S-OFF?).

No, but I'm all good now. I don't really need to S-OFF as I've seen in other guides, but I need to know how to flash a kernel via boot.img.

Have you installed 4ext recovery? Download 4ext from the google play, that will let you install 4ext recovery free for 3 days or something - long enough, only takes a few minutes! And roms and kernals can be flashed from there

This post should be closed, as I don't need help on downgrading anymore.
