Hi XDA.
Has this been posted?

If not, take a look, it worked for me.
Unbranded HTC HD7 Pre NoDo already received via Zune when it was first pushed out.
I was up to today still waiting to get NoDo.
Checking some news sites revealed above link
Screw AT&T
Got tired of waiting on AT&T without any idea of when the update might be released. Did this, it was smooth, painless and I am now running NoDo with no need to remove any apps or data, not hitches and now have a snappier Focus.
Did you know......
And on top of that, My phone stayed completely unlocked!
I can still sideload all the cool XDA-Dev. apps!
Impresive!

Hi,
just had a text conversation with a Vodafone support person called Beverly. I asked if she/they knew when 2.2 would be out for voda branded desires - the answer was
"There is no update about the release date or the Android 2.2 (Froyo)"
"Prior to releasing or approving any software update for customers who have bought a handset through Vodafone, we test it thoroughly to ensure it provides customers the best possible experience on our network. Our testing process begins as soon as we receive the software, which often happens once the manufacturer has already released the open market version of the software."
"During the review process, we report any issues with the software back to the manufacturer for them to address. Once the firmware is approved by Vodafone, we return it to the manufacturer and they will then distribute the software to customers through the appropriate channels."
And her last comment was
"We will release the firmware as soon as possible "
Basically don't hold your breath
My friend is stuck on 1.6 on Vodafone because they don't release updates. Basically sh it yourself.

I've just called and had the same standard reply. I asked for my concerns to be 'flagged' and was told that every call about this is being collated and 'pushed upstairs'. So I suggest Voda customers ring on 191 and (nicely) make their point of view clear and then also ask for their comments to be flagged...
just debrand then update
i got pissed off waiting also last night.so took upon myself to debrand the phone..
made a goldcard=4 minutes or so
=downloaded wwe rom=4 minutes
debranding phone=10 minutes
switched on..checked for updates froyo was there
seriously very easy procedure..id do it if i was you
Same here - one of the easiest things i've ever done.
Make some backups and you lose nothing but your individual program settings for programs that you've downloaded.
Whole thing took me about an hour inc making and restoring backups (which took the most time)
i got it, dont understand why you didn't.
I have a desire from Vodaphone. It doesn't appear to be branded. I thought none of them were from vodaphone. Got the update yesterday.
How is your phone different. Is there a vodaphone insignia on the phone or proprietary software changes.
Just curious.
Dave
AdamZA and Executed_apt does this mean that your phones are rooted now??

Oh, that's strange.
You are correct to say that none of the UK Voda Desires are branded - no markings on the phone and no splash screens or whatever. But the firmware number still seems to mark them out as Voda phones and that means they can only be updated by 'official' Voda updates, I believe.
Can anyone else shed some light on this?
No visible difference. It seems to have a vodafone 'scene' and a vodafone background. The main difference, and apparently the reason why it doesn't update is because the rom version is different to the official HTC rom. version 1.19... as opposed to 1.21 (i think).
I am going to wait a few days and then will probably go down the gold card etc route.
i went down the goldcard route, have it in when you Debrand to WWE 1.21 and LEAVE it in when you check for updates for FroYo and it works fine.
Even though on the Techradar site it stated Voda are gonna try and get it out to us as soon as possible its just not worth believing them as they are shi*e at these things.
nice
the only way you can tell if its vodafone is as someone already stated about it having the vodafone scene and i believe software version with 161.
in relation to the rooted question i dont think so..but whatever it means im happy as a pig in .... you can unroot etc regardless of how it goes
froyo is up and running though
only thing i had an issue was the sync for my contacts..but transferred my contacts from previous sync to outlook then tried sync again from outlook
besides that happy days
Looks like the update is out!!
Well there is an update but it only 19.41MB - at work at the moment so can't dl.
Oh joy, it just installed 19MB of vodafone ****. MFs!!!!

You are joking, right?
I've just bust a gut to download with a huge smile on my face and had to delete Google Earth and Layar in order to free up enough space! So, not only is it NOT FroYo, but it's Vodafone bloat which I didn't ask for?
Seriously pissed off now.

You just broke my heart. I'm following threads at the Vodafone forum too where people are reporting of an update...we were all assuming it was froyo (no one has completed the update yet).
It's not froyo...
I rooted my phone last night, contemplating whether to go for a modded ROM or the original.
Looks like i'll be debranding tonight and getting the 2.2 OTA that way (i will be trying custom ROMs first though)
i believe vodafone did buy a load of unbranded completly network free desires which customers have..then some have vodafone on..you can tell by the software number...and if it has the scene..but in relation to network branding at least vodafone left the splash screens etc alone..
my advice..sod vodafone..debrand..get froyo...though dont get overexcited its an anti climax..but two best things......save apps to sd..and 720p recording..oo and hotspt..but rarely using that me thinks
Tricky question for everyone..
I'm one of the unlucky few whose push notifications died recently. I still get them for things like email, sms, Xbox, Messenger, eBay app.. but other things like Alpha Jax, Who's Near Me and a few others now give errors that they can't connect to the push servers. I've read this is an issue related to MS directly.
I'm wondering if anyone that received NoDo can confirm this was resolved by the update? Many like me were hoping so. So far the only resolution has been to hard reset but I'm avoiding this at all costs if possible.
EDIT:
Peew917 has confirmed below that the NoDo update has not fixed this issue. Sad but true.

We all know resetting the phone fixes the issue. However some people are reluctant to do it in fear of losing apps that are non longer on the marketplace (and game saves if you play games).
I have the same question, would be good if someone could give a straight answer.

Well put sir.
Who wants to voluntarily spend an entire day redoing their phone from scratch? Not me.
Alright, just got NoDo and the push notifications still don't work .
I'm gonna have to hard reset and lose a couple of good apps along with my game saves.
By the way, I got NoDo by doing the trick in the following thread:

Wow.. thanks but that seriously blows as I'm in the same boat as you. Since my phone is T-Mobile branded I may as well reflash to a NoDo ROM and do everything over from scratch anyway.
Damn you Microsoft.
Before you flash, Wmpoweruser has a rumour that Telus is getting NoDo tomorrow.
I can't see NoDo, captain!

Sadly I'm using an T-Mo HD7 unlocked on Wind Mobile so you're tips won't work in my case. I will be researching tonight what my best route is then mentally preparing for the hard reset. I'd rather stab myself in the eyes.

Ok, I'm gonna do mine now. Quick and fast like Hansaplast, a good cry and it's over .
Gonna miss Diodict and Engadget.

How many times have you performed a hard reset?
I'm using an unbranded Omnia 7 for T-Mobile US. I'm not even going to bother with all this NoDo flashing ROM crap and/or trying to officially update it for fear of the horror stories that I've read on here.

It's my first one, I always tried to avoid it to keep some apps that are no longer in the marketplace. But now that NoDo is there, we might not get another update for months so I might as well do it now.
Something just hit me... NoDo didn't fix the apps already installed, maybe if I had deleted and reinstalled them then it would have been different. We would need someone to try this just in case (I already did the reset).
That's just a thought but I doubt Microsoft fixed that since they never mentioned it.
I havnt gotten the ota yet and my phone says its up to date but still has 2.2... wtf!?!?!!!

go to your dialer and type this *#*#checkin#*#*
you should get a notification after it shows reboot phone and you should get it soon.
Ok, I did that i typed it in the dialer, then restarted my phone, and still nothing, i did that about 10 mins after you posted that, i figured i would let it go the night before i respond. any other suggestions. im considering just rooting but i want to keep getting the otas without any hassle.
I can assure you:
1) If you wait for the OTA you may have to wait even longer to root. If that is something you want to do, it is a moot point otherwise.
2) Be patient, plenty of people haven't received the update.
3) This is the last OS update for the Inc. You will not have another update to look forward to as this phone has been updated twice in its shelf life.

Some people at androidforums.com seem to think the update might have been pulled so Verizon can fix a few issues (like leaving Sprint stuff in the build.prop file). I have no idea if this is true or not, just passing it along.
There are still people on androidforums.com that have not received the ota either.
I haven't heard of anyone getting it for a week or more. I'm guessing at this point they had enough complaints that there's some retooling going on. I'm expecting 605.4 in the form of another patch but it's just my own speculation.
So I'm unlocked and rooted with TWRP loaded up. Astounding how fast this all came together.
Glad I spent come coin on an xda-devs case and some beers tossed out.
Anyway....
I was wondering if, with the above exploits on our new HTC Ones, we had to worry about an OTA update locking us out, or killing off root etc.

It appears Verizon has gotten HTC to blacklist the Ones. People are no longer able to unlock.
I get that, but I was wondering if I, who have already unlocked & rooted, etc, will be susceptible to VZW relocking it somehow via OTA.
Did anyone else get updated, my phone is not rooted or unlocked. so far update looks sleek, need to explore a lot.
enjoy all.

Mine is updating now but stated "security update will install?"
Looks like the N920AUCS4EQG1 update Nobarb found for all of us and referenced as unreleased a little bit back. (Thank you once again, Nobarb for all your hard work!!)
Probably just another security update. With the S8, S8+ and now the Note 8 forthcoming I can't imagine Samsung throwing us any more bones for our good old Note 5.

My apologies...I may have misunderstood what you were talking about. I just got an update yesterday and it was the QG1 update which brings in the July 1, 2017 update.
If you are not fully up to that build, keep trying for an update. You might try manually pushing your clock ahead a day if it is restricting you by the time limit.
I also received this new update and installed it. No difference in battery life or performance whatsoever... Just security updates.
Ever since my phone was updated to Nougat, it has been randomly rebooting (sometimes once a week and sometimes twice in 10 minutes). I can still use it fine but I'm honestly getting tired of finding it stuck at the "Enter PIN" (encrypted phone) screen after restarting. So I'm missing important calls without even realizing it when the phone is in my pocket. Anybody else seeing this? Suggestions welcome.
I did a cache wipe at least 10 times now and that didn't help. Don't wish to do a factory reset... It's a pain to setup android the way I like.
Thanks for any help guys.
someone can give me firmware N920AUCS4EQG1, im out side US,pls!
