[Q] htc evo miui - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys waddup, I just recently got the miui rom and i'm inlove with it but wondering if anyone suggest any other kernels? I am currently using 2.6.37 tiamat v3.3.2 sbc.. not sure if there is anything better out there with faster cpu so i can overclock more or just overall a better kernel. I don't want to loose any usage of my phone such as camera ect.. I just want better performance(battery speed ect..) any suggestions? thanks guys

I run savaged zen kernels. allows overclocking to 1190 and adds more governor choices. works well. only complaint is slow wake up from lockscreen. good luck.

What is the Best kernal for battery life with Undervolting Frequency Schedular SetCPU

Hey devs and users alike I was wondering what would be the best kernal to use to get great battery life, im fine with 12hrs+ although id prefer 18+ im using ava-froyov7 with netachys kernal. Any recommendations im willing to switch ROMS except for Cm6 since it is a SENSELESS ROM. Or any kernals that already have a low frequency governor Please post any recommendations.

Check out this thread it could be of some use. Look at maH drawn screen on and off could give you an indication of battery usage.

[Q] suggestions on kernel for speed and performance?

hey guys. i'm trying to find the kernel review thread with no luck.
I switched roms (i'm on MetroPCS so using the latest MetroDroid rom) and Im finding the kernel slow. I use setcpu profiles and I notice a slight delay in response that wasn't there before.
I also benchmarked using Quadrant and setcpu set to performance at 1190/1190 and got 1083! much lower than any score i've had in the past.
what's the newest and greatest sense kernel for improved speed and performance? I have the seidio battery and always near a charger, so i'm looking for snappy performance over squeezing 15 minutes more out of the battery.
thanks!
P.S. this is a Sense-rom but 90% de-Sensed. I just prefer the look and feel of Sense after I modify my way over others.
Ziggy's (ziggy471.com) always run faster than Netarchy's for me, but you're going to have to try a few for yourself as every phone reacts differently to diff kernels.
Netarchy's Kernels & Ziggy's Kernels
nets out with his 4.3.4 and has hdmwin built in also has the kernel guide in there.

[Q] Whats a good kernal for batt life and charge rate.

I would like to find a good overclockable kernal and am not really having luck finding much info about them. I see SVC and all that stuff but i dont know what all that means. I am running the newest version of IncRom and love it besides it having a stock kernal. I use alot of wifi teather and am on my phone alot so i need something thats going to be a strong signal for the wifi and i need one that charges fast and has acceptable battery life. I know i cant have everything all in one but i have flashed like 6 different roms and notice the kernals do matter for example the OMFGB 1.1.1 rom the battery dies so fast i can watch it drain but takes 5 hrs to charge back up. I have no use for something like that u know. But on the flip side it has an overclockable kernal!!! So could someone guide me in the right direction or at least break down what kind of kernal im looking for??? I really would like this info thank u.
I have CM7 on my phone but replaced the CM7 kernel with the latest version of incredikernel. It has been good so far and I have great battery life. I can set the governor to overclock my CPU up to 1113 MHz and I have verified the increase in speed is giving more performance through a couple of benchmark apps. I am also able to do either wifi or USB tethering without any issues as the CM7 rom has native support for both of them. You may want to try flashing your baseband radio as the different versions will offer different performance. I am using 2,15,00.11.19 right now and it is working well for me.
incredikernel AOSP is excellent for both battery life and overclocking. I can't speak for the Sense ROM, but I'm sure it's just as nice. I can say that the AOSP roms charge QUICK, and with the smartass governer, you can oc and uc and have great battery life.
I'm running chad's incredikernel right now on SkyRaider 4.0 and I love it. The smartass governor is great for battery life and it charges really fast. It's the only kernel I'd run on a sense ROM

[Q] Aosp Kernel usage

I have come from the ERIS and as far as kernels go the Incredible has a lot more to offer. This leaves me confused as to which would be the best. I currently and running latest nightly of cm7(smooth) and 2.6.38.6-Tiamat v4.03 with chad0989's voltage tweak download. Nothing to complain about really but with all the undervolting and voltage tweaking and updated drivers etc i get kinda lost in the mix.
My question is what do most of you prefer for a kernel setup that provides you with the most stable experience for the way you use your phone?
If this helps I like my phone to be responsive - and if batt life suffers a bit then thats not a big of a deal. I use my phone to stream googles beta music cloud thing, watch some netfilx, play some angry birds, make some calls and a few texts. Nothing overwhelming.
Thanks for all your help!
For cm7 my favorite is Chad's kernel, overclocked to 1.113 with smartass governor. He's working on a new governor called ingenious and when that comes out, it's going to be excellent.
I have always had good battery life and performance with this setup. Hope this helps!

[Q] most energy efficient rom for rooted evo 4g?

Ok so I'm currently running cm7 on my newly rooted HTC evo 4g. I was wondering if there are Roms that run as smoothly as cm7 and which roms have the most energy efficient os ?
Well most energy efficient would have to be myns warm 2.2.
World peace with no regard for human life.
i love cm7 and if you couple that with tiamat, you will get the best battery life. i can easily get 18-35 hrs easily. unfortunately, there is no kernel for gingerbread on sense yet. so looks like you would have to go with any froyo roms or any aosp roms, since they have plenty of custom kernels for you to choose from.
Mik roms. Froyo. G. Z.
Or warm 2.2.

thanks guys
I'm now running the new cm7.1 coupled with the tiamat kernel so my android is now up to 2.3.4 and I'm running the smartass CPU governer and its working amazingly. Very smooth and very efficient. Tommy I also tried your Rosie mod for unrooted phones before I got my replacement and dude that's a great idea for those who don't want to root for whatever their reason. Keep working on those bro. I need to take some programming classes and whatnot so I can learn to write my own mods. As well I've got a couple of ideas but i don't exactly know how to do it lol take care guys and thanks for the help
Decks is very energy efficient once you flash a custom kernel. Decks is cm7 just stripped down. I have my EVO running tiamat 4.0.5 overclocked to 1228 and underclocked to 128 while utilizing the performance governor. Smartass governor saves more power, but my extended battery can handle it. SV kernels are very good as well. SBC helps out a lot.
It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.
