Hi im new here. I been searching a solution since last night but cant find any.
Im trying to unroot my G2 for warranty exchange.
I manage to get the S-ON back but when i reboot it still have the CM7 rc3 rom in it. What did i do wrong?
I did the visionary+ method to root it.
Thank you in advance.

Just checking, you did reflash a stock ROM first, right?
Have you taken a look at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Returning_to_Stock ?

Hello,
my desire is semi-bricked -.- I have the usb and adb problem and every time i go to lockscreen/standby my connections are gone !! Only wifi is working -.- BUt it reconnects diretly ......
So i sucessfully flashed the testimage from Pauls r4 Hboot 0.8 root procedure.
Now my question is: Am i unrootet? Can i now give my phone back for warranty etc.?
Hope u understand me
Paul's R4 rooting version with the test image will install a generic ROM that is rooted... there is a thread somewhere here that has all the generic ROMs and T-Mobile etc that are unrooted and original...

its real easy flash the unrevoked s-on tool untill the bootloader says s-on it may take more than one time it may not after that flash the ruu with the build that came with your phone
So I download the file to my card then what? I'm lost here sorry

Unrevoked 3.21/3.22 automatically runs Unrevoked Forever after the rooting is done (this is the very last step of the process before your phone boots up). That's why you end up getting NAND unlocked (S-OFF).
So you are looking to go back to stock and do not want to run Wireless Tethering anymore yes?
Download the S-ON tool and place it on the root of your SDcard (not in any folders). Go into recovery and flash the S-ON file and it hopefully should make your phone S-ON again.
Thank you. I'll try that! I'll let you know.

So it flashed the s-on and no luck. Done it twice ashtray and no luck. Should I keep trying?

http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/forever
From the unrevoked forever wiki page, it says to download the s-on.zip and flash it. If its not working, try re-downloading another unrevoked-forever-son.zip file and try again, otherwise I'm not sure what else to tell you, sorry.
[GUIDE] How to Unroot the EVO in 2 STEPS
This unroot guide written by djR3Z says to keep trying until it works.
Do you have radio version 2.15.00.11.19? I know you cannot S-OFF while on this radio version, so maybe you cannot S-ON either.
You will need to downgrade the radio first to 2.15.00.09.01. My real suggestion is to flash the mtd-eng.img hack, RUU back to 3.30, S-ON, RUU to 3.70.
I just finished! Had to flash a recovered rom. Stock rom that is. It was quite the process but I did it! Thanks for the help everyone!

I used g free method to root my g2 and was wondering what steps I need to follow to unroot my phone and put -on back on.
I'm selling my g2 today so I need to put everything back to stock. And there was a thread using pc10img but when I used that before it put stock rom and s was still off.

In gfree there is a way to put s-on back using gfree I forgot where but check one of the gfree threads
Search on google wiki.cyanogen there's a lot of updated method posted up in there

I might be totally missing something here... but wouldn't an "easy" method to unroot just be to flash the new stock ROM in it's "pure" form? I saw the sticky topic warning users against flashing the leaked OTA as it would turn S-ON and roll everything back to stock, thus making it a real pain in the $%@! to root again. (If I'm off-base, then please feel free to educate my cracker ass)
bump on this as well, @eunkipark92, have you had any luck on putting s-on again?? i`m having the same problem...have you tried doing the OTA thing ? if you did, did it make it s-on???
check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835971 thank him . hope this helps
Hey,
As the title says above my Htc desire z , became g2 t-mobile.
This happened because my camera gives weird rainbow colors so i wanted to send it back to HTC but in order to have my warranty i'll have to unroot it.
So what i did is , follow a unrooting guide from google. which said unrooting for desire z/g2 t-mobile but it turned out that it made me install a G2 t-mobile stock rom , while i need to get sense stock on my phone.
Can anyone help me to return back to stock sense?
The stock i have now atm is the G2 t-mobile 1.19 version

Can you exactly tell me which method i need to root it? , i rooted it before with the rage method PC10IMG.zip 1.34 , and isn't gfree included in it?
btw once i rooted this phone back then i couldn't load PC10IMG.zip files because he wont find them , so i turned it back again to G2 , so probably the bootloader is G2 now or something because he wont recognise PC10IMG.zip files anymore the htc sense stock ones.

I can't help you out too much but I can say, Just root it again, then try to unroot it again following a different guide. is ther anything stoping you from simply rooting it again?

Install the Engineering HBOOT and do HTC Sense RUU like normal.
It sounds to me like the ruu you installed was the stock tmobile rom.
I'd listen to pfac (right above this post)
try to find a ruu for the desire z stock rom

Not sure if it also works for the wildfire, but on newer HTC devices (Evo 3D, ...) with s -on, you need to flash the boot.img seperately with fastboot.

To go back to stock... You need to flash an RUU which you can get here http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Buzz. Download whichever suits your region, whatever... You can flash easily using FASTBOOT. But bear in mind... Since you are S-ON, it will be hard if not impossible to flash a ROM lower than the one you had before rooting. I'd recommend this RUU RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed (if you were on Eclair or have HBOOT 0.80) incase you need S-OFF. Good luck!
download ruu that suits your region, extract rom.zip from it, rename the rom,zip to PC49IMG.zip, put it on root of your sdcard, reboot the phonein hboot, wait for it to scan for pc49img, when it scans it follow the onscreen instructions on how to install it, and voila, youre back on stock rom.
