Hey all,
I have a problem with my main cam. Every time the flash activates I get too much of green in the shot as if the the gamma setting are imbalanced. Taking a shot without the flash gives a good color balanced picture.
I bought my phone second hand it was dropped leaving a small dent behind, the impact to the top right corner cracked a small portion of the screen (digitizer). I suspect the pressure of impact has damaged the cam as everything is compacted tightly inside the casing.
I tried resetting/rebooting the phone several times this didn't help so if the above is correct then my main QUESTION is: will HTC Desire HD A9191 CAM function my A8181 Desire phone. I ask because by the look of things I will be replacing my faulty CAM so then why not make it an upgrade while I'm at it?
My Specs:
HTC Desire A8181
Android 2.2
All stock no Mods.
Regards,

Hey Fellow HTC Desire Lovers!
I have a question. Can you replace the top PCB (I think its called) the top one that has the Headphone jack and camera attached to it.
Is it a case of simply getting a replacement part from another phone and swapping the NAND flash? (I think its called the NAND flash module, Its the little square thing next to the camera)
What happened was
My HTC desire had a fist fight with the wall! it left a dent on my wall as well as on the desire!
The odd thing it Smashed the the AMOLED screen and the Housing bad! It caused the camera to be ripped from the PCB circuit board as well as the headphone jack. It is still attached but neither work. I have repaired the screen and replaced the housing (however still need the middle housing as it is still bent)
The phone works fine! Besides the camera and headphone jack and earpiece! What a beast!
Thank you for your help!
Sorry I think its called the Flex cable
Please help if anyone knows if its possible to simply swap it?
Thank you
I don't see why you couldn't swap it, as long as its the same component from another amoled handset.
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
wow thats great news! So it has to be a AMOLED handset to be able to work? I thought the SLCD and amoled only differed in their screens and possibly connections to the main board at the bottom?
Also when searching ebay i found flex boards that are for Nexus one. will they be ok to use? having a look at them they look exactly the same as the desire one. I cant post a link right now but will do when I can
Thank you
I'm not sure if it's totally necessary for it to be from another amoled handset, but that's how I'd do it, just as a precaution. Not sure about the nexus component.

I purchased a new one from ebay came today swapped it working fine although camera not in properly its missing the shield so its just stuck in there without the top metal to hold it in but no big deal.
For everyone that repaired their phones be careful with the digitizer strip that connects to the screen it's just held on with tape. sometimes it comes loose mine did and the phone bootlooped. I just stuck it on more firmly and its fixed using it now
Thanks ffor your help man!
And your right I don't think it matters if you have amoled or LCD . I just got a generic part for £25
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I just recently replaced both digitizer and LCD on my Desire Z and now every time i tough the left side of the screen it senses that i touch the right side kinda like a mirror. One other detail to note is that i used a T-mobile G2 digitizer for a replacement part instead of a Desire Z digitizer which would say HTC on top rather than T-Mobile. Im trying to figure out if G2 digitizers use a reverse polarity for some reason, or is my part is defective or if maybe i did something wrong during the install. Any ideas?
Have you tried a reboot and/or a different/custom rom?
My dz's started acting like this when I unrooted, and a reboot fixed it.

I've A8181 HTC Desire with AMOLED screen. It sucked moisture but that didn't stop it from work. I got it cleaned, but again it trapped some moisture.
As it was not stopping to work or to suck moisture, I continued to use.
Now, I got an offer of broken HTC Desire. I wish to buy it to use it's screen. It's A8183 and that means it uses different frequency. The screen is AMOLED.
Should I try to replace the screen or digitizer ? Will they work with my original A8181 ?
Hi guys ..
so i have an hox and i bought a new back case for it today ,and i noticed that when i put the case on the phone a weird spot appear on the screen and it seems to be increasing in area if i applied some pressure on the screen ,,when i take the case off the spot disappear ,but i can see it if i pushed a little bit on the screen .. and again it increase the harder i push ... i toke a picture of it ,but the quality is bad "i don't have a good camera "
and i noticed that there is a gap between the outer glass and the phone ,,it's more noticeable at the bottom left edge of the phone ,and the soft key light leaks from that edge !!! :crying:
the phone has no warranty .. expired!!!
so if anyone knows what is that spot and how to get rid of it !!! plz help
thanks a lot ...and excuse my english
the phone was turned off when i did this video !!
I had a similar experience with a replaced HTC One X display and digitizer(as they come together in one package). The problem was that the replacement part was not original. That is probably the case here; the phone has had its screen replaced with a poor quality one.
I am having an issue, My phone for a while now loses responsiveness along a section of the screen from time to time (see attached image)
Recently it fell and that issue has become more or less permanent with the strip not showing any responsiveness most of the time and the entire screen not responding from time to time.
I was hoping someone can help me decide which of these 2 items I should buy to fix the issues since all the test I've run using screen calibration/testing apps show no signs of dead pixels and the screen itself has no cracks or anything that suggest the LCD is damaged. I'm currently on CM11 M8 and using developers options I've turned on the "show screen touches". this showed that from time to time there are constant touches on the right hand side of the black area between the white shown in the image.
Also if i'm in say whatsapp the send button falls exactly on that (right hand side) resulting in messages/voicenotes being sent before i finish. Do you think I have to buy 1 or 2
1. Full LCD Display + Touch Screen Glass Digitizer Lens Assembly for HTC One X
or
2. Touch Screen Glass Digitizer Lens Replacement for HTC One X
Would post the ebay links but i'm not not being allowed
