[Q] Compatibility of screen : Different versions of Desire - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've A8181 HTC Desire with AMOLED screen. It sucked moisture but that didn't stop it from work. I got it cleaned, but again it trapped some moisture.
As it was not stopping to work or to suck moisture, I continued to use.
Now, I got an offer of broken HTC Desire. I wish to buy it to use it's screen. It's A8183 and that means it uses different frequency. The screen is AMOLED.
Should I try to replace the screen or digitizer ? Will they work with my original A8181 ?

[Q] Telus HTC Desire and SLCD

Hey guys,
So I have an HTC Desire from Telus. Unfortunately I dropped the phone and the screen is cracked. The touchscreen itself still works fine, simply the glass appears to be cracked. I have a couple of questions:
1) Even though the touch screen works fine, do I have to replace the digitizer?
2) Does anyone have a decent retailer they can recommend for the part that is required? Remember, the Telus HTC Desire has an SLCD display.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciate!

[Q] HELP Replacing HTC DESIRE G7 DIGITAL CAM

Hey all,
I have a problem with my main cam. Every time the flash activates I get too much of green in the shot as if the the gamma setting are imbalanced. Taking a shot without the flash gives a good color balanced picture.
I bought my phone second hand it was dropped leaving a small dent behind, the impact to the top right corner cracked a small portion of the screen (digitizer). I suspect the pressure of impact has damaged the cam as everything is compacted tightly inside the casing.
I tried resetting/rebooting the phone several times this didn't help so if the above is correct then my main QUESTION is: will HTC Desire HD A9191 CAM function my A8181 Desire phone. I ask because by the look of things I will be replacing my faulty CAM so then why not make it an upgrade while I'm at it?
My Specs:
HTC Desire A8181
Android 2.2
All stock no Mods.

Replacing screen on HTC Desire

Hi,
I was in the shower and had my phone in my pocket and think it either got some water/steam damage, or i must have dropped it when i threw my clothes on the bathroom floor. Now the screen has white vertical lines instead of the proper screen. Its the new PVT-4 model so can anyone advise me on where to get the correct screen?
Or would I be better getting a replacement Desire?
Any tips on fixing it myself without getting a new screen off eBay?
Thanks.

[Q] Replace an AMOLED with LCD screen ?

Hello everyone,
I know there's a lot of threads about broken screens out there but I could not find a precise answer to my question.
This is what happened. My HTC Desire (with AMOLED) fell on the ground. When I picked it up I noticed a crack. It seemed like it was not on the touchscreen but underneath it. Also, in the first hours the display worked well like always despite the crack. Then, the next morning, I woke up to a surprise. The screen was now loosing it's colors and everything was in a kind of violet range. The next day, the screen was completely black (but I could feel that the touchscreen was still working because of the small vibration during unlocking).
Of course, the "official" screen replacement is too expensive for me and I think I can do it myself. The problem is that I can not find a site that's selling AMOLED screens for HTC Desire, only LCD. So there's my question : is it possible to replace an AMOLED screen with a LCD screen (on the HTC Desire)? Or maybe someone knows a site that's selling AMOLED screens for HTC Desire?
Thank you in advance.
Switching screen for screen won't work. At least you would need to replace the digitizer too, and I'm not sure will it work with your motherboard. Total cost of screen + digitizer would be around $110.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I know people mentioned different digitizer for different screens. I'm not sure that's true but a different motherboard would be required.

[Q] Just replaced digitizer on Desire Z now left and right tough are inverse

I just recently replaced both digitizer and LCD on my Desire Z and now every time i tough the left side of the screen it senses that i touch the right side kinda like a mirror. One other detail to note is that i used a T-mobile G2 digitizer for a replacement part instead of a Desire Z digitizer which would say HTC on top rather than T-Mobile. Im trying to figure out if G2 digitizers use a reverse polarity for some reason, or is my part is defective or if maybe i did something wrong during the install. Any ideas?
Have you tried a reboot and/or a different/custom rom?
My dz's started acting like this when I unrooted, and a reboot fixed it.
