I use ConnectBot (can't post links yet, so remove spaces - http :// market.android.com /details?id=org.connectbot). Works like a charm.
Thanx... great soft
Thanks, I was also looking for a nice SSH client and this fills the gap very well.

Can anyone recommend an offline blogging client for windows smartphone?
I dont have a blog yet so not too concerned with compatibility with blog hosts etc.
I'm only after a few features:
1. must run offline then upload at end.
2. must be able to attach a photo.
Anyone done this?
Cheers
I think a lot of blogs also make use of updating via email.. ie. you email an address and the email is posted as the blog entry, blogger.com comes to mind
thanks for that, yes i've tried and it works, although i'm trying to post a photo also.
Ideally by attaching to the email, blogger won't let you post a photo this way, it just drops the file and posts only the text.
Try getting a blog on Wordpress.
Wordpress has couple of extension reading incoming mail and adding pics as attachments in the posts.
Had done this time ago...
Requirements:
1) Blog which runs on Wordpress
2) Access to the server via FTP so to install plugins
3) Modify a bit the plugin scripts (PHP) so to have exactly what you need.
4) A very difficult to guess email address
...and you're done.
Check Wordpress codex for the mail & attachment plugin.
In the meantime I'll try to see if the modified plugin is still somewhere on my HD home and if found will post it here.
Ka.
I thought it would be good if there is a way for users to choose what browser they wish to use when clicking on a link in their emails.
Does anyone know of such a utility?
I agree. Or in the RSS feed program. When I click on links there, it opens up Internet Explorer and not Opera, which is what I would prefer.
RSShub was opening Opera until I had to do a HardReset, and now it is Internet Explorer that I really detest. And I don't know how to change this configuration.
I must say that Microsoft did a great bad work on this mobile IE. It is unusable.
I think the following reg. hack will change the default browser : -
Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https\Shell\Open\Command replace with
"\Windows\OperaL.exe" %1

Many thanks for this tip. Unfortunately it does not seem to work for me. Pocket IE is still the browser when web links on mails are clicked. Should it be Opera9.exe rather than OperaL.exe? Edit: nope, Opera9.exe does not work either.
Any more idea?
For Windows Mobile, wm6 wm6.5
A single .exe ftp server for PPC. Easily transfer/dele files/folders via WIFI into your PPC.
Just setup Admin/anonymous account and root path in Option manu, then ready to go.
1,connect your PPC to you home WIFI router (or any other TCP/IP connections), run the program.
2,Program will show your phone's IP (like ftp//192.168.1.5)
3,You can use windows explorer, or any ftp client to upload and download files to your mobile phone.
copy files with Wife, it can easily reach the top SD card writing speed.this program also can be a gate to achieve remote->PPC, and PPC->PPC file management, or Internet File sharing, blah blah blah
It was in Chinese and I just translate it. Enjoy!
This is cool.
Thanks...

lol!
I recently got pulled up for recommending one of my apps, WifeNoStandby.
actually this FTP server is great. It handles multiple ips no problem.
I am including support for this in my StatusTicker app's menu.
I wonder if there is a link for the original developer?
That would be cool.
Thanks!
Nice, I have been getting pretty sick of having to plug into my computer just to upload a new file here and there. Unfortunately I don't have bluetooth on my computer and don't feel like buying an adapter that could easily break off. This worked perfectly!
Great share, thanks mate!

i have an app that i want to post an item on a user facebook.
i have found a method to do this, which on paper works - but on windows mobile it doesnt!
i have code that generates a html document with the relevent java script in it to trigger the FB.UI. This Java code opens up a popup window to enable the post to happen, the problem is that if i open up the generated html document in internet explorer it wont work because it automatically blocks pop-ups. Alternativly if i had a web browser control to my app it works, however the page is zoomed in way too much and theres no scroll bars or anyway of navigating the page!
i appreciate any help or suggestions. Using managed .net code (vb)
well, I've been working oonon a Facebook app and well. . Honestly, the only way to do it is using raw http socket communication with custom UI. the webbrowser object is pathetic at best. if you find another solution i would be very interested in knowing what you did. if you want help with Facebook communication, pm me and ill see what i can do to help
