Hi,
i am looking for tools for offline - informations. I dont have any data-contract. The only possibility is to go online at home via WLAN. From there i would like to feed my Touch HD with video-Podcasts and RSS automaticly, maybe also with other informations / applications which i dont know yet.
I would prefer something like itunes where i download video podcasts and sync automaticly to iphone. Is there any tool like this.
If not - can someone give me a good page for downloadable Videoposts or mobile friendly rss feed with full informations, not only half a sentence and attachend link which need to visited...
OK, i have installed RSS Hub so far. Looks great, but i need to find out how to setup in a way that it also downloads pictures. At the moment, there are no pics.
Also i need to find good rss with full text, not only a introducion and a link.
Another thing - is there any possibility to read twitter offline? Same as rss - download past messages and read them offline.

I used a program on my WM2003 (a long while back) where you could download webpages. You could program the depth of the links as well. It was different from RSS as you could see the entire webpage, rather than a summary. It then showed a sumary on your homescreen. Anyone know the program I'm talking about?

It as become a huge annoyace to continuesly click "download images" for my mail. It does give an explanation in the thread as to why you might not want to automatically download messages... basically you could suddenly find you are swamped with even more junk mails..

i am not even sure how to make sense of what was said in that thread. I dont see how allowing automatic download for html images in an email will increase spam to the mail account. at this point in the game, winmo is the only platform that doesnt allow html rendering by default. if this were true, then woulding everyone else who doesnt use a windows mobile device be flooded with spam?
Umm... pretty sure that my GMAIL account handles the SPAM ok.
I'm still going to look into this a bit more, but I have been super busy today.
As i understand what is said, spam senders send messages to accounts generated at random hoping some of them get to a proper account. The pictures that are in the email are encoded with email address it is sent to eg. [email protected] so that if you download that image the server knows that is a valid email address and is noted.. and spread for everyone else to send you a message...

Yes... that's exactly correct....except it goes to a server not an email address... basically the concept is that it notifies the sender that the email is legit, and adds them to the list of good email addresses to sell

like l3it3r said, my spam filter does a great job. can't tell you the last time i've seen spam come through my inbox. thats a none issue over here.
me either. It is a very rare occasion when I get spam in either my corporate or personal email.
if thats a problem we could atleast try to have an option to "trust this sender" or something to automatically download html pics from trusted sources

This is something that I have found annoying for a long time now that I can't just download the images in my emails by default. I really expected it to be an easy fix and that I would find an answer straight away along the lines of "...change this one line of the registry to '0' ... " so I was really surprised to see it was a much more complicated issue.
Anyway thanks in advance to anyone with the tech knowhow who is looking into this for us all
maybe its possible to make some script or something that presses automaticly "download pictures" when email opened... i have no idea how or if its possible but maybe someone can...
For Outlook on desktop computer this is possible on registry hack. On mobile outlook this registry key is not persist...?!

I'm looking for a solution to this as well. I would like the option to trust certain senders, at least. I can't believe Microsoft didn't trust us enough to give us an option for this. I would also like to have scrolling permanently enabled.
If you add the sender to your contacts, it will automatically download the images. This is the only way I have ever known to make this work, it would be great if someone figured it out, but until then this is the only work around I know.
i would like to have this function as well.. is great that my email mostly need image downloaded together.. when i got slow connection, i would like it to download all n internet picture together while it is idle. then once i got time i can faster read it all without further waiting for downloading.
thumbs up for this feature. at least have an option so that user can tweak themselves. no nid to argue about anything but juz let user make the choice accordingly.
DEFINITELY need to have this automatically download internet pictures AND turn on scrolling..... what's the point of having such a great screen and touch capabilities when the stupid email can't figure out how to show you pictures and let you scroll right?
HUGE oversight on Microsoft's part there - email should look as nice and classy as Opera does on my TP2!!!

I've created this application allows you to upload a picture, existing or taken with the camera from within the application, to imgur.com and shows the link for the original picture, small thumbnail and large thumbnail. The links can be shared with your twitter friends or copied to clipboard in order to use them later (email, sms).
Known issue: the thumbnail displayed in the application aspect ratio isn't always the same as the original picture aspect ratio. I will try to fix that in future releases.

The app works quite well and you can even post the images to twitter !! but for some crazy reason 2 of the buttons ( Select Image and Upload ) shows up on all the screen . Hope the developer can put up a quick fix for that, other than that annoying little bug the app is great. Here is a quick video of the app in action ..

I have an acct with imgur, can't figure out how to upload to my acct. Works with twitter. This is what I've done; select image, upload (onto phone), now how do i upload to my account online? I have these options> Tweet, Copy,option-which wants twitter acct info.
I want to upload to Imgur.com not twitter.
Any feedback?
@montecristo1 From what I can tell it is not possible. The system uses the API, and at the moment the API does not support account login etc.
The API actually only has 5 functions, all of which can be found on the Imgur Wiki (can't post link, forum restriction).
That is one of the biggest let downs about this application and needs to be suggested on the Imgur forum in hope it can get some attention. This would then increase the possiblities with Imgur. It's a fantastic service already, and allowing more flexability in the API would make it even better.
I like the Windows application for Imgur. It's very quick and simple and does the job, with no funny business with loads of menus. You simply pick the image. Upload.
One thing I would suggest is having it so you can somehow connect the program with the camera? Other applications I have allow me to take an image within the program and then directly upload it straight away. This might be an interesting option that could be considered for the app.

Should note this app is for uploading imgur picts to tweeter...not to your imgur account.

@the0ne: I can't reproduce this error on my phone (HTC Touch HD with WM 6.1). It may be a problem on WM 6.5 devices or it may be a problem with your ROM. Maybe somebody else here can tell us if the problem of overlaying buttons exists on other devices.
@montecristo1: I'm sorry if I was misleading in the description. The application simply uploads the image to imgur.com (not to a specific account as this is not possible through API) and allows you to share the link on Twitter.
Although you cannot upload to a specific account, the image is still uploaded to imgur.com.
@JasonO: You can access the camera from the My Pictures folder in the Select Image Dialog. See the attached screen-shot.

- on marketplace I found "Send to WP7" and install it
- I start "Send to WP7" on phone and on setting I found code
- I start IE on my PC and go to author web side -> products -> Send to WP7
- I enter my code and then I saw a link to install add-in to IE
- I install it
- I go to pda forum, right click on link and select "All accelerators" -> "Send to Windows Phone"
- Next on phone I receve information
- I go to "Send to WP7" on phone and I saw new link
- I click on it on phone and IE (on phone) open pda forum
- I added it to favorites

The purpose for these types of apps isn't really to send yourself a bookmark for a main website, but more to send a complicated link to save you typing in a 180 character or so URL into your HD7, or having to open up your email and copy / paste a link to yourself (spamming your own email in the process).
For example; I'm on my PC browsing deviant art and I see a cool image that would make a great lockscreen wallpaper for my HD7. I right click somewhere on the page, select "Send to Windows Phone". I pick up my phone, open the "Send to WP7" app, and there's my link to that page. I can now use that image as my wallpaper.
Similarly, if you're reading an article on some website and you've got to get to work but want to finish reading that article on the bus, just send it to yourself with this app and easily pick up the same page on the bus!
It's an incredibly handy and ingenious app in my opinion... with lots of ingenious uses if you can think them up.
I sent a question to the dev that I haven't seen an update for - how to remove those darned links when you're done with them. Until then, the app is useless for me, but it does have potential...

There is now an alternative paid-for app called Browser to WP7 that works on the same idea except it allows links and text to be deleted. It also categorises them in the app and allows you to share them by sms, email, search with bing etc.
I'm waiting to see if Send to WP7 gets any future updates because it's currently free and works pretty well for me.

Hey guys - never noticed this thread until today. I am the author of Send to WP7.
Send to WP7 has the ability to delete links (as of the update several days ago - I was stuck in limbo for several weeks. )
Multi-delete is coming in an application update next week.
Send to WP7 has a live tile # indicating how many links you need to download to the phone. You can already send a link via SMS or Email, just tap and hold, select 'Show All', and then click the mail icon. I'll add more options to the 'right-click' menu soon. I didn't think there was much of a reason for things like 'Search with Google' or 'Search With Bing' (wouldn't you have just done these things on your PC anyway?), but I may add things like that in the future.
Send to WP7 will remain free.
Apologies to the OP for not understanding how to setup the software, I still assert that it is not very complicated if you just read the instructions carefully. I do think I need some updates/screenshots to the setup page, though. On that note, I was never able to figure out how to configure 'Browser to WP7' to use anything but Chrome...
I thought it was simple to use and easy to setup but then again I've been using Chrome to Phone for ages with my Desire now.

Note that Send to WP7 Desktop is an alpha release, I have not built any functionality into the phone app to support it yet. In it's current state, it is best for transferring files. Sending an SMS or Email does "work", but you'll then have to tap & hold the item and select Send via mail. The real name for these items should be something like "prepare SMS/mail."
Again just note that this is all in flux, but I wanted to get it out there so those who really wanted the functionality could have it immediately.

I don't quite understand, how do i send an sms? Press the button on the desktop app, nothing happens, am I supposed to write a txt file, send to phone and then send as sms? will the txt file be read and added or will it be an attachment?

Yes, you enter a message (and optionally a destination contact number, but this won't work until I add support into the phone app itself) and click send. The message is sent to your phone using exactly the same means as the note. If you have enabled push notifications, you'll get a toast. Tap and hold the entry on the phone, and select 'Send info via SMS'. It is not the most elegant procedure, I know...
I ve tried sending the clipboard contents but it didnt work, anything I copy in iexplorer though can be send, maybe a plain html page where you can write and then send using the accelerator will do the trick. Keep on the good work!

"It didn't work" is not useful for anyone trying to solve any kind of problem. If you'd like help in configuring the desktop software (I suspect that is the only problem you're having), email me the log (located at %localappdata%\sendtowp7desktop\log.txt) to dave at dave amenta dot com.

I'm not sure why it says the program is executing from C:\Windows\system32, maybe that is related. Usually ClickOnce will set that to your profile (e.g. C:\Users\CK)
It appears that you're getting jumplist callbacks for sending notes, but nothing else - they all use exactly the same mechanism so I'm not sure what'd cause that. It appears you are using a localized version of Windows, what language/locale are you using?

Hey. idk if this info will help much, but i was using the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine on the old Kin.com site, and even though most dates loaded a redirect to the (now non existent and non-archived) kin studio, i did find a copy (albeit with some missing fonts and flash objects) that works. Also, i did a search on google using the site: parameter (site:kin.com) and it pulled up some still active links (theyre all related to the webpage version of the "KIN is finally available!" email {The web copy of the email, the tweet, post to facebook, email, and share to myspace features, images, etc). again, i dont know if this even remotely helps,but still... oh, and i found a "Content Service" csv file using wayback stating "The content service for this site is off",as well as some image files from the source code of the page.

Hehe. I remember looking through Google's historic cache and the wayback cache for kin.com .. the main thing I was trying to find was the original wallpaper, as once you change it, you can't get back to it.
