[Q] AOSP lockscreen for SRF 1.0.2? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone confirm if there is a working aosp lockscreen for ACS's SRF 1.02?? If not, will there be a AOSP Lockscreen compatibly with SRF 1.02... Thank you.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=977416

I am confused, some said it does not work and the last poster said it works? Can you confirm if it works on 1.0.2?

Yes. 10char

I am using it with 1.0.2, no issues I have ever noticed with it on 1.0.2

[Q] Most Stable Rom?

I've tried almost every ROM on the development page but could not find any ROM that is stable (I.E. GPS not working, or Camera issues, etc.) Is there any ROM that anyone here recommends that is most stable?
Probably Villision 1.0

How about Cyanogenmod 6.1.1? Granted its Froyo but its Stable. Other then that just root the stock rom and get the junk off of it. I did those for a while. Now I'm on Cyanogen Nightly 31 having no issues. I have been lucky being able to fix the GPS issues.
The latest Virtuous is pretty stable for me! and everything works
I've never once had an issue with cyanogenmod.. just flashed rc4. Idk why everyone complains about gps, my works flawlessly.. id say cm6 would be the most stable thou as someone already said. But it is froyo.

So you're saying your phone isn't experiencing the Gmail margin issue that's been present post CM7-RC2?

I think miui is the most stable, to be honest. Those folks in china know their stuff. Haven't had a single damn thing force close on me with that rom. No joke. Battery life is just magical too.

Go for the ROM with the most replies.
Any ROM will have bugs. The older and more popular it is, the more likely, the bugs will have been worked out. Go for older, stable roms instead of newer, unstable ones.

Seems to me the GPS issue on CM7 may be location dependent, since some have the issue, others don't, and flashing various different radios seems to solve the issue for many. Since I travel a lot for work, it gives me less than 100% confidence that the GPS will work when I really need it to.
There is also the persistent video camera landscape/portrait playback bug (but I haven't tried the latest nightlies or RC4). Plus, the camera button is laggy on CM7. So I'm onto Virtuous, but ADW EX as launcher (Sense is sloooow). Virtuous is built off the stock Desire Z ROM, so its very stable. Off the top of my head, the only common bug I know of is wake issues depending on kernel and clocking, but those are easily solved by SetCPU profiles, or using the Standard Virtuous kernel. I haven't tried a great many ROMs, but Virtuous is working well for me so far.
Gingerbread ROMs are all ports from other phones, since a native GB "official" ROM has not been released for the Vision yet. Until that happens, the Froyo builds are going to be less buggy than the GB ones.

[Q] FYI on Kingdom Revolution 1.3 and Themes

I've recently switched to Virus' Kingdom Revolution 1.3. It works great without a theme. I've tried 2 themes. Got Them Sense Blues 2.0 by Tiffany and Insomnia Nights2 by iaccax. After I installed the theme, I'm getting FC's on the Touch Input. I had to switch to the android keyboard as my inpud method to get the FCs to stop. Also, the camcorder will automatically close(no FC message) on when I hit the record button recording at 720P. My internet browser also automatically closes(no FC message) on some web pages. My question is are all themes for this ROM not completely working? Since all of the themes out there are pretty must based off each other, I'm assuming they'll all have the same problems.
You should try the B1.4 nightly, i think some of those problems are fixed.
I too have tried Virus Kingdom but have has some lagg issues and so forth, i see where everyone has said to try the Nightlies, can you tell me where could find this, i really like it the Rom but the lagg and drain on battery really killed it for me.
Thank you
The link is en Virus' Kingdom Revolution 1.3. thread pag 1329.
I'm using kingdom revolution b1.4 and bred red theme and its very responsive..deff worth the flash!

I was using B1.3 and flashed a theme, then lost my data connection. Hopefully 1.4 fixes some of these issues, cause I was incredibly happy with the ROM, the theme, my phone in general... Except the whole, not working thing. That was a bummer

I would recommend sticking with the Stock 1.3 for now until they fix the themes. That is what is causing a lot of the problems
Are you getting any FCs on the Touch Input running 1.4 and Bred Red?
06/23 is the smoothest for real, don't flash a theme with it or it will lag, I just flashed the Sprint lovers icons zip and is running great, feels like running the EVO 3d lol

I had the same problems with those themes too. I love the kingdom Rom b1.3, I will flash 1.4 nightly and try themes again and let you know how it works.

now running 1.3 and bred red v3 theme. Touch Input is now working no fcs and the Camcorder is working as well.

screen wake up

whenever using aosp roms such as gingerbread decks or cm7 i will ocassionally get a black screen when trying to wake phone up/unlock. is there a fix for this or an aosp rom that doesnt do this that is similar? ive tried salvage mod and cant remember if it did it or not. it lags when turning on the screen.
i noticed tremendous wake lock issues with the latest RC of CM7. So bad that i couldn't use it. Is that the ROM you're currently using?
If so, have you tried switching to one of the more recent nightlies and checked the results.
i'm currently running the latest version of MIUI, which is based off of AOSP. I have had no wakelock issues with it at all.
im on decks 1.2.1 sorry for not mentioning it. it just happens with most aosp. yea ive tried miui and dont recall ever having that issue. might give it a shot this friday or something for the new release, thanks for the reply.

Scrolling choppiness issue found! Kernel Devs READ!

Hi all,
I have been really upset with the choppy scrolling performance on our phone. It is a bug Supercurio found immediately upon using our phone and one sadly no dev has fully fixed yet.
Well, good news. I've been testing a ton of different ROMs and kernels and I have found that the Skyrocket kernels are PERFECTLY smooth in scrolling. Why? I do not know.
I tested Da_G's CM7 kernel with my T-mobile SGS2 and it worked. Now, not only did it work but it works perfectly. Everything works including data (4G), calls, etc. There is only 1 bug and that is because it is a Skyrocket kernel---Automatic orientation (if you turn it on) is exactly 90 degrees off. Easy fix though I think.
Other tested ROMS and Kernels:
Kernels:
Bullet (all versions)---very choppy but amazing on battery
Synergy (all versions)---very choppy but also really good on battery
Faux123's kernels---Newest version of Faux's kernel incorporates Skyrocket drivers and FIXES the 2D choppiness. Currently it is the only T989 kernel to be fully smooth
Mr.X CM7's kernel---choppy but amazing battery and 2D Quadrant scores (I got 760s with it)
Da_G's Skyrocket CM7 kernel---BUTTER smooth, everything except Auto-rotation works despite being a Skyrocket kernel
ROMS:
Stock 2.3.5---VERY choppy
Stock 2.3.6---Slightly less choppy but still pretty choppy
Juggernaut 4.0, 3.7, 3.5---ALL pretty choppy, 4.0 is likely the best since its based on 2.3.6
Beastmod 4.0, 4.2---ALL pretty choppy
Domination 2.0---EXTREMELY choppy...I don't know why even since it's 2.3.6 but my testing proved it was one of the worst in scrolling choppiness
CM7 by slayher (for T-Mo SGS2)--Butter at times and choppy at others.
CM7 for Skyrocket (Alpha 4)---Choppy if T989 kernel is used, BUTTER if Skyrocket kernel (Da_G's kernel) is used.
I believe ROMS have little effect on the choppiness. They do contribute a tiny amount but I do believe the kernels are what dictate whether scrolling is smooth or not.
Moral of the story, T-mo SGS2 Kernel devs, please either build from the source for Skyrocket or see what that kernel has that is different from ours because it is MUCH MUCH SMOOTHER than any of our kernels.
Cause us skyrockets users are raw haha but ill try and see how to fix your guys rotation problem. Busy trying to build a new cm7 miui and AOSP with members for the skyrocket

If you could port Da_G's kernel by incorporating a 90-degree Auto-rotation fix, it would be bomb. Everything else works and it is sooo smooth.
Would you mind linking to the exact kernel you used? I never use auto-rotate & I'm dying to get rid of this choppiness.
Certainly. Make sure you are running CM7 though.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398512
Use the AT&T CM7 v4 version. Get into Clockwork, flash, and reboot. It doesn't have a boot logo, don't be alarmed.
I certainly am Which version did you use though, AT&T or Rogers?
AT&T like I said in my post above.
Ah... derp, I'm special. Thanks.

Hello fellow Colorado-an!
Just to clarify- the moral of your post is: using the Skyrocket's CM7 ROM & Da_G's Skyrocket kernel on the T989 you have 0 choppiness?
I'm just unsure of which ROM you're using (ours or Skyrocket's)
Thanks.
Correct. Use the Skyrocket CM7 or ours (doesn't matter but ours has more bugs. The Skyrocket CM7 with that kernel has NO bugs if you keep the GPS on).

Yep, true, somehow, GPS on our kernel keeps audio working and no bugs, dunno how, but don't ask me.
Also, the orientation thing is because our accelerometer is flipped upside down, that's why it flipped differently for you.
I'll ask Da_G if he can revert the fix he did in the kernel, then upload a version for you guys, since our kernels seem to work better for you.
Also, if someone doesn't mind, flash a T-Mo ROM, then a Skyrocket kernel (don't worry, I've flashed T-Mo SGS II kernels before, only thing that breaks is the rotation), and see if that fixes any 2D lag you have.
Wait- we can flash the skyrocket version of cm7? Like without modifying it of anything?
Hmm glad this ROM & kernel combo is working for you!
I myself have used several of the roms and kernels you mentioned also and have found that the stock rooted Telus T989D ROM by Mr X + the synergy kernel are not only the fastest imo, but I get 0 choppiness and almost 2 days of battery life on normal to heavy usage.

Ok sorry for my noobishness, I had no idea..don't really use cm7. I just flashed dagkernal .42 on gingersnap 0.3. Its amazingly smooth but I had to turn off auto rotation because its working backwards. Which is a kernel with good battery life and is smooth on skyrocket?

I think all the Skyrocket kernels are going to result in rotation issues. I flashed a Skyrocket rom and one of our kernels and it works fine.
I called in sick for work today this shows up.. should have a fun day lol

Just tried the dag 4.2 rogers kernel with juggernaut 4.1 and I can really notice a difference.. not that benchmark's matter, but I'm got 7154 on AnTuTu on the first try clocked at 1.78 and getting 4600+ on quadrant at the same clock lol
Let's see how the battery is on this tho. Jug 3.7 + bullet 2.9 was giving me amazinggg battery life but last night i went to sleep with it being 45% and woke up with 5% lol maybe the governor changed to performance or something idk
EDIT - After around 20 mins of use, I can confidently say that my phone is now BUUTTTEEERYYYY smooth I used to get lag/stutter during screen transitions and everything, now I'm using the Sphere effect on Go Launcher (one of the ones that usually cause the most stutter) and it couldn't be any more buttery smooth lol
Thanks for finding this The only issue is the auto-rotation but once that's fixed, this will be amazing lol

[Q] Why is my sound gone after flashing Tiamat kernel?

So I'm not very familiar with this phone system, I am doing this for my sister. I recently installed CyanogenMOD-7.2.0 on her phone. The phone runs much better than when it was stock. (It is rooted and S-Off). The one issue she had stince gettng cyanogen on there was that the call volume (speaker volume too) was incredibly low. From reading I though that installing a different kernel would fix the issue. From what I read, the best AOSP Kernel for the incredible 2 was Tiamat. I went to
http://tiamat-dev.com/vivow/
I downloaded the latest gingerbread ROM Tiamat_Inc2-v1.1.5 to the external SD card. I wiped cache and davlik cache and flashed the kernel. Now there is no sound at all on the phone. NO call volume, No notifications, No media.
Any ideas what went wrong?
Any Suggestions on another kernel that will fix the sound issues?
Well a lot has changed since then. Tiamat is way outdated. Check out goo.im/devs/aeroevan/kernel/vivow. Grab v13 4.7 graphite.

it was suggested not to try that though some did with no problem, I can't remember which kernel fixed that issue, it was only the latest cm that had the no sound issue, look at aeros post over on rootz, I believe it was a test kernel not in the op all others broke sound
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
So I finally got around to flashing this kernel.
Good news: The sound is awesome, much louder
badnews: camera and video playback are broken...
Any additional info on these problems? I haven't seen any other issues YET. Is this fixable with a different version of the Kernel you suggested in the earlier thread or do I need an entirely new kernel?
After a few tries it seems I've figured it out. I used the latest ICS Tiamat kernel Tiamat_VivoW-v031412 and there are no audio issues and the camera and video playback are working. If I run into any other issues I will be sure to post.
