Does CWM 2.5.1.0 backup the modem and kernel? Also will it overwrite the modem and kernel if I reodin then restore??
off note anyone have an update.zip for the eb13 modem?
I would try reflashing the modem to see if it solves the signal and data speed problems
This is kind of what I am wondering. I created a backup with clockworkmod, but I don't know if I'm able to restore back to my D18 backup now that I am on EB13. Or how this works with custom roms. I've looked but can't find a tutorial for clockworkmod. I guess I'm looking in the wrong spots because i've spent hours already..
Not sure on modem but I know reverting my cw backup today did NOT restore the stock kernal on my epic. I reverted to my backup from stock eb13 with no mods besides root and the OC kernal was still there after the restore.

It does not backup or restore the modem either.
So I would have to Odin before restoring 2.1

Yeah, from what I've gathered CWM doesn't mess with the modem. I think it can flash a new kernel though.
I haven't seen a post for this yet or I must have missed it, but what do I have to do to get from my current dk28 cwm3 ext4 bonsai rom to eb13 cwm3 ext4?

There isn't a n eb13 bonsai rom yet. Its still in testing.

Just trying to get to eb13 with ext 4 amd Cwm3.

I saw that there's an EB13 kernel with EXT4 support in the development section. Don't know how that would help you really though unless you flashed the EB13 zip in CWM and then flashed the kernel, but I think you'd have to wipe/factory reset.
Oh ok sorry I read it wrong. Easiest way for you is to use Odin. There is no update.zip that will take you from dk28 to eb13 do you have to use Odin and flash it. You can flash stock eb13 odexed or you can flash a deodexed version that is prerooted with cwm and ext4.

Thanks for asking the question. I too am hoping an official EB13 thats set for EXT4.
I try to stay as close to stock as possible on my devices.
I had previously used odin to flash the EB13 modem while using a dk28 ext4 bonsai with no problems.... Then last night I flashed Midnight 4.0 which is EB13 ext4 using cwm3 without any issues. Not a difficult and its quick and painless.
If we have the old dk28 ext file system, can we just do the one click root eb13 ext file system over it?
Used odin to flash eb13, all went well but ended going back to dk28. Will try eb13 again tonight with new midnight rom.
Was running SRF pre-Gingerbread, Odin back to stock, did the OTA to GB. Rooted, and tried 2 versions of Legendary and now ThunderHawk 3.3. Tried several different kernals, But can't get 4g to connect in good 4g areas. Modem shows EI22.
What is my next move?

If you did a full system restore there was probably bad wimax data in there somewhere. I fixed this by Odining back to EC05, made sure it worked, rooted and flashed, made sure it worked then restore data from Nandroid broke it so did it again and restored only apps from Titanium.

good evening everyone,
I am on stock root el29 with rogue cwm.
is it possible to upgrade to ff02 without resetting all of my data?
i was thinking along the lines of
- removing rogue cwm
- using the update.zip to update
- using odin oc nodata to then root
is the above possible or another way?
i like to stay stock rooted in any case.
thanks to all
This is all you need to do.

I wouldnt try to save your data. Use Titanium backup then do the reset user data version.
If you're not willing to do a full wipe, just to get the latest release, then I would suggest to not even bother going through with it. Yes, you can use titanium backup but, but if you try to restore those in ice cream sandwich, you're asking for trouble.
Just do a clean install its easy.. just make suree once your on ics and have all your apps then you use titanium to backup the apps.. restoring apps using titanium that was backed up on a gb rom will give you problems..

I have stock rooted FI27 and keep getting notifications to update. I have an work app that i do not what to have to get provisioned by my IT department and would like to nandroid backup this configuration if possible. In addition i will be doing a titanium backup as well to restore. I want to wipe clean because every new app i install locks up my phone. How can i perform a nandroid backup?
Also FL24 doesnt have a one click ODIN? Is there a ONE click method for this stock rom?
Thanks.

Try Rwilcos repository in development section.
The only way you "nandroid" is if you have a custom rom with recovery.
That all involves rooting.

Nandroid wont do anygood for a new rom, its like a system restore on windows its for going backwards not forward. You just want to use tibu and restore the app and data on the new rom. Make a nandroid incase you need to go back to your current rom.
I like to break stuff!
So i needed a custom kernal i guess. So i install agat 63s kernel and then did a nandroid to restore if need be. I then installed the FJ stock restore rom to wipe clean and start fresh. I restored my work app with titanium backup and things are working great. Thanks.
