Is it just me or is something fishy going on...
Example:
DINC Battery 1750 mAh small battery fits stock phone.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi17hhrv.htm
TBolt Battery 1600 mAh small battery fits stock phone.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi16htmec.htm
Both batteries are the same size and the only difference is contact placement.
I think there is some false advertisement going on because they are calming one is 1600 mAh and the other is 1750 mAh... If the DINC battery is truthfully a 1750 mAh why not just sell it for the TBolt with the different contact placement?

Has anybody gotten a hold of one of these?! Curious as to how they hold up.

I don't trust mah ratings from aftermarket batteries. They are usually inflated numbers and frankly not worth the $25 increase over a stock battery just to gain an extra 200 mah. For the price of one of sedio's extended batteries you could buy two stock batteries. Just something to think about.
I got one and honestly it might be worse
I have used the Seidio batteries in my last 2 phones and have had great luck with them.
I have one coming for my TB, I will post results when I get it.

You are better off buying the set of 3 with charger on eBay for 12 bucks.
Here is a comparison someone did with quite a few different batteries.

They make great cases but that's about it. The batteries are a rip off.

I bought one and will let you guys know how it goes. A coworker of mine has been searching, and I guess a bunch of people on Droidforums have had great success (30+ hours with moderate-heavy usage). I just got mine fully charged last night, so I will let you know after I run it out.
good im waiting for the same battery anything can be better than the current battery
i just got my new 1600 battery.
quick question should i kill the battery first then charge it, or should i charge it right away.
typically say charge first, over charge, after it's full bump it and let it sit for 2 more hours. So the battery companies say.
ok il definitely do that
ever since i was little i always have killed the battery to 0 then charged it fully
just something someone told me as a kid, but i didn't know if it applied to new better phones
ordered one of the 1600 batteries also from amazon, will let you know how it goes when i get my thunderbolt and this battery from amazon

If it is a li-ion battery discharging it all the way to 0 isn't a good thing.
FYI Dinc batteries are physically larger than mytouch4g/tbolt batteries. Hence the bigger maH ratings.

i have the ebay andida 2000mah hero battery and i got a google io evo on friday. the model number of the stock hero battery is the same as the stock evo battery (despite the difference in color). also the battery sizes and power ratings are both the same. so i put the andida 2000mah battery in the evo and it works fine.
here is a link for reference:

does it fit without needing a replacement back cover?
yeah, the form factor is exactly the same
How much longer does it last compare to the stock battery?
This is awesome! I love my 2000mAh battery, and now I can bring it from my Hero to my Evo!

that is a good question nobody knows for sure, there are many opinions. it seems to last a bit longer, but i wouldn't say it's a huge improvement.
I'll bite! For $9.99, I'm willing to take a chance. Thanks for the link!
Lots of discussion about this battery on other forums. I found a website before (can't find it now though... duh!) that goes into great details on all the batteries made of this size, and this performed the worst of them iirc.
With that said I have it, and I think it performs about at a stock level, and for $10 it's hard to beat.
No better than stock
I have that battery in my TP2 and it does not perform any better than the stock 1500 mAh battery. I don't think I'd place too much stock in a Chinese battery company to calculate and give accurate mAh ratings. Good to know that I can keep my extra battery for the EVO though!
Yes it doesn't seem much better than the stock battery
for 10 bucs i grabbed one also..at least ill have an extra battery now..im sure ill need it,..

If you guys are in the market for cheap replacement batteries grab two batteries plus an external charger from ebay for $10-$12. You will get the same life as that "2000 mAh battery" except you get two.... and a charger.

I don't really believe any battery that is the same size and claims to get more juice for that cheap. If it was easily (read: cheaply) done, HTC would have gone with it in the first place to help the all to often (with smartphones) "battery life" issue.
I have a 2300mAh battery for my G1, I know it's bigger because:
A) It has allowed the phone to last incredibly long.
B) It's almost twice as thick.

I wouldn't buy from those manufacturers if I were you. Check out batteryboss.org. Some guy evaluated those battery capacity claims and a lot of them are flat out lies.
I have been a Seidio customer for years and have always being very pleased with their extended battery solutions for all my devices. My experience is that they did extend the battery life of my devices significantly. Without a reputable protocol and some raw data I will trust my previous experience over "some guys" who did "some tests".

Sorry to tell you this, but...
http://batteryboss.org/ These guys are testing a variety of aftermarket batteries for their true capacities, and the one you purchased is included n their test. They only got 1100 mAh out of the actual battery, under the name TP2 Andida, new in their chart.
Good thing you only spent ten bucks, though.
No kidding, the TP2 battery fits? That's the EXACT same battery the hero uses!!
Luckily, I bought two of them, and just got a TP2 as my work phone. That means I suppose, that I have four batteries
btw, those batteries probably aren't 2000mA, but they're nearly as good if not a little better than stock, and for ten bucks each, not too bad.
EDIT - Duh, I see you said you got it from the Hero forums.
Seidio hasn't released their 3500 mAh extended battery for the Evo yet. I'm patiently waiting, as I bought that battery for my hero. I went from charging every day, to every other day.

I like what they did with the rear door. I hope they bring out a hard-case to also work with this battery. To keep it then, they could just cut out the back of the case in the middle where the battery extrudes. The rear cover will provide significant protection anyways.
the seidio batteries are awesome but they are worthless if you dont have the extended case that goes with it.. id just wait for the 3500mah for the evo instead of the one for the eris cause your gonna have the case problem
I wish they would add two more mm to the battery and do 4500mah because at that point the little bit of bulk added doesn't really matter.
/b
i wonder how hot that 3500 will get, i'd rather the 1750 and not change the dynamics of the back case.
apparently only a couple of the batteries on batteryboss come close to their rated mah, i wonder what the evo 1500mah will come in as....
what is the biggest mAh you can buy without changing the back cover? I like my EVO thin.
I believe the highest mah you can get while keeping the evo slim is the 1750 by Seidio. But for 40+ dollars I dont think an extra 250 is worth it
I just wish they would make the battery 1-1.5mm thicker and add whatever they can to that... Then we wouldn't have to change the back.
*Here's where I am horrified to find out I am the only one who's battery cover doesn't really fit on the phone*

Id just wait for the charging case thats comming out.
I wonder if the 2150mah OEM for the TP2 will fit into the evo, and I wonder how much the case will have to be extended. It is the only battery that tests at 100%.
Will the 1350 battery for the Eris work on the evo? I know the capacity is smaller, but will it fit and work?
Are there any battery that can get me a little extra juice (~1800MAh) that stick inside the stock cover?

I900? It states I9000 galaxy S so I'm assuming its safe and reliable to use with the captivate
ebay has 2x 1500mah batteries plus charging dock for 10 bucks, free chipping. that's what i'm gonna get. i know they're not going to give me more time per battery, but for 10 dollars, i can afford to treat them like semi-disposable batteries, only i can recharge them and have a couple on standby if i need them.
all those expensive $80 (FAT ONES) mugen batteries are a waste of money imho. the 1600 mah are an ever worse ripoff.
you're paying a premium for the privilege of being spared the horror and anguish of schlepping an extra battery around.
THANKFULLY, our batteries are pretty small and thin, so it's really not such a terrible thing.
anyone use the "EXTENDED" batteries before? how much extra life do you get? NOT VERY MUCH.
if i use my phone "normally" with a 1500 mah battery, it lasts the whole day, or around 15 hours for me.
if i use my phone "normally" with a 1600 mah battery, how much longer battery life will i get?
mah = milliamp/hour = milliamp per hour
1500 ma/15 h = 1600 ma/ X h
plug and chug, cross multiply, whatever, SOLVE FOR X hours.....15.999 hours.
WOW! 1600 mah batteries give you just ONE (1) extra hour of battery life.
the cheapest you can find a 1600 mah battery on ebay is $37.99. you can buy THREE (3) 1500mah batteries for $11.99 and free shipping.
i think it's quite simple to see that the "extended batteries" are just not that great an option.
i quite enjoy math. nergasm ;P
note: i know the longer we use a battery and the more times we charge it, it's maximum capacity gets smaller and smaller over time. i decided for the purposes of my post, this battery "age" factor was negligible.

What about 1800mah for $10 see my previous link....worth it? Think so
By your math that would be 3 extra hours for same price as 1500mah
ah, not exactly. i can't post links yet.. but there's a seller on ebay who sells THREE (3X) 1500 mah batteries for $11.99 free shipping. even includes the battery dock so you can charge an extra battery on the side while using/charging your phone's battery.
get the 3x 1500 mah. you just get more! plus if you get three batteries, you can leave them places, like one in the car, one at work, one at home, etc
i think it comes down to user preference. if that extra three hours is just what you need to get you through that last leg of your commute to home + the charger, then sure, go for it.
me personally, i was looking for a case on ebay and stumbled on that 3x battery deal. i wasn't originally looking for an extended battery
Id rather get the extended battery than buying 3 1500 batteries. The risk of breaking my phone changing batteries is high. I just bought innocase rugged. It is a hassle putting it in and out of the case. I already bought the one from ebay. 2batteries+dock charger. I don’t use it anymore because im scared to break my phone with those cheap bat. I can use the oem which has better battrery life imo so why take the risk. But the charger is nice to have.
Im not also into buying mugen expensive 1600. I might buy the 1800 for 10 if its been proven it gives more battery life compare to 1500.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
valid point. you never know what can happen with those non-oem parts. personally i like the idea of always having a spare battery at the ready. having THREE spares is probably overkill though
be sure and let us know how much more life you get with whichever extended battery you get, it would be fun to see the margin of error between real-world battery life and theoretical

If I am not mistaken...there are threads on this battery and some people didn't find that much of a difference....but each phone is different..
I have the extended battery.....I have a silicone skin that I cut to fit the extended batter cover and then I bought a holster for it...works AWESOME
I didn't see a thread for this specific battery. I cut the case also, and it falls off every time i put it in my pocket drives me crazy lol. Something has to give a 2in thick phone doesn't do it for me. Plus that battery is heavy. So lets see how this cheap battery does
There's a thread somewhere about an independent test from "battery man" or something of the like.
He's stated that these batteries are often rated higher than whey they actually are, like 1700 actually being a 14 something. I'll see if I can find it. It was an interesting read.
Here you go.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021992
and
http://batteryboss.org/
It's not a 1700 mAh battery. It's a battery with a 1700 mAh sticker on it. With all the complaints about battery life, and the rumors that the TB was delayed while they worked to improve it, HTC would have gone with a higher capacity battery if one were available in a suitable size.
I got a couple of "1500 mAh" batteries and a charger from Hong Kong for $9 from ebay. They seem to work about the same as the OEM, enough to get me through a day (no 4G here, yet).
Some others had purchased these. If you run Battery Monitor Widget, it tells you how many mAh your battery is, it reports the correct 2750 for my extended, but on these 1700's it reported 1350.
I just need to come out and say it. A battery is a battery, you can't get a huge amount more of mah out of a battery that is the same size. There is no amazing battery that can hold 30% more energy and be the same size. You can increase capacity by taking out circuits, thinning the wall, and optimizing space in the battery but you can't make it tons higher. These batteries promoting themselves and so much more charge in the same package are a scam.
I've been posting on threads on these "1700mAh" batteries because I dislike the company that makes these ads. Its false advertising.
The story is that the seller already had "1500mAh" batteries on Amazon for the MyTouch 4G. Then when the TB came out he listed them on Amazon for the TB advertising them as 1500mAh. A week later he raised the price from $35ish to $50ish for 2 batteries and changed the title to state that its a 1700mAh battery.
For a short period of time people purchased this "1700mAh" battery for the TB. When they received it the sticker still stated 1500mAh. Then later people started getting the batteries with the stickers saying "1700mAh"
Summary: False advertising. Do not buy. Exactly the same as the $3-5 eBay batteries, so SAVE YOUR MONEY

No one is being negative. They're just trying to let you know that you're getting scammed. Even if it was actually 1700 mah you'd get what, a extra hour out of it?
i have this battery and i got to say ain't worth it unless you want an extra battery just like the one that comes with the tbolt...

Some others had purchased these. If you run Battery Monitor Widget, it tells you how many mAh your battery is, it reports the correct 2750 for my extended, but on these 1700's it reported 1350.

That sounds about right, mine is on its way back to the company!

There's a setting where you can change the capacity. My stock battery read 1350 also.
With that said, I bought these 1700 mah batteries and they are worse than stock. I guess it's a decent price for two extra batteries and a charger, but they suck. They dont extend anything.
i have tried this battery, it is the same, if not worse then the OEM battery.
I bought two of these 1700 mah batteries with a charger a few days ago. I only paid about $26 after shipping so we'll see how well they do. I'm not expecting miracles, I just need one to leave at the office and one for home. If my battery dies, I can still use my phone.

you would probably be better off just flashing a kernel/rom that isn't all bloated and is more energy efficient. Ever since flashing the perfect storm rom my battery life was better. Flashed CM7 when the prealpha came out and its even better.
I'm on the Twisted Sense rom with the bamf_4.3b kernel. I have no complaints with the rom or kernel. My battery drain comes from me never putting the phone down.

Never seem to get anyone posting results in these threads. I'd imagine there won't be much of a difference, but still would be nice to see what people are getting.
I'm still waiting on mine to come in.

My extended batteries came in yesterday. I charged them and carried one today. My phone had drained by about 2:00 pm so I popped in one of my new ones. It's 8:30 and I'm at 69%. I wont say that I'm getting fantastic battery life, but it's fair. I did use navigation and I browsed the web a bit. After around 5 pm, I was on wifi so I'm sure that helped. For $26, I don't think I made a bad deal.

How about you start by telling us where you go these batteries? As for NFC, it stands for Near Field Communications. It can be used in a way to pay for items, or bumping phones together to share information, such as pictures, contacts, etc. I am not a fan of it, I always have it turned off in my phone settings.

yeah i wish to know as well, seen these tonight on ebay and i will buy them but just wanted to see if anyone else has first. was gonna get the £6.99 single one first as a test. It does say on the sticker under the battery 2100mah so just wondering if running a 3200mah would be detrimental? or is it one of those things manufacturers do and have very large tolerances just to be on the safe side so as not have flaming s3 videos on youtube.
don't these cheap batteries pose a risk of leaking in the phone or something? Like what if the damage the phone!?

What, where did you hear that? The only thing I have seen people have to worry about with cheap batteries is how much of a charge they hold and how well they actually work. I have seen batteries malfunction due to ****ty car chargers before though but never just a battery fail while in a phone minus ghost stories from trolls on the internet.

mAh has nothing to do with the amount of current or voltage so I don't know what you mean by manufacturers having large tolerances?? And it wouldn't be detrimental, it would add to your battery life. (as long as the mAh claims are accurate)
Bought this.

these are surely too good to be true? 3200mah in a standard size?
yeah no need for a new back cover
Can anybody say something about how long does the phone works with this battery?
definitely need to get me one of these.
too good to be true
hey i just made some fast research on the seller of the item
i cant link the url apparently because i jus made the account but go ahead and check the ebay sellers' (utigertech) feedback. They are not good.
in short, this battery is fake and some user feedback states that it does not last even longer than the stock 2100mah samsung oem battery
so dont be fooled. If its too good to be true then its probably too good to be true
cheers boys
Testing of MPJ 3200mah Battery for S3
I have purchased one of the MPJ 3200 mah batteries for the Galaxy S3. I have bench tested the battery over 7 days with multiple charges and discharges.
The results are that the battery is approximately 2000 mah it does not even come close to 3200 mah. The sellor is being misleading on the mah and you are better off buying a standard battery as it has 2100 mah and NFC.
I will try and test a few more batteries in the next couple of weeks..

Thanks for running the tests. Aftermarket battery sellers are notorious for jacking up the mAh rating.

Superfake, unless they've developed some new kind of technology. Don't think so though lol

I'm amazed that so many people get sucked in by these fake batteries. There is no battery technology out there that lets you increase the capacity without increasing the size.
