Hi everybody.
I really need your help on this!
After a fresh PC install I synced my phone with Outlook via Mobile Device Center.
Problem is, my Outlook addressbook on my PC was almost empty - and now, all my phones contacts have been deleted!!!
And I don't have a backup of the newes contacts.
I know it is possible to restore deleted information on most storage devices.
Does anybody of you guys have experience on how to possible do that on a WM6 device?
Where does WM6 normally store the data? What software could I use to restore deleted Information?
PLEASE HELP.
Thanks a lot,
t.
You might be out of luck, since it probably didn't delete the PIM file. It only deleted records in the table of that file. Have you sync'd with any other computer? MS Live? etc. Your contacts still may be on the other devices.
Otherwise, I think your outta luck. Sorry
Chris
I had this once and i found back my contacts in MSN in the "deleted contacts". If you haven't synced with MSN, i think you better start to look for some new friends

there isnt any data recovery software for windows mobile trust me ive looked there is software to recover simcard info
http://www.datadoctor.biz/sim-card.html
I had the same problem kinda.. were your contacts on your simcard at anypoint?
If so you could always get a simcard data recovery software and usb thumbdrive for simcards. U need to instal the recoverysoftware on your pc and to get you simcard to recognise on your pc thats were the thumbdrive come into play.
This happened to me when I switched to Vista, totally unexplained loss of all contacts. I feel for you man, I was lucky and had most of them backed up on an online service.
thx for all your replies guys - managed to restore most of my older contacts - but the newer ones seem to be lost - dammit.
well, lets move on
I use the PIM backup to backup my contacts/sms's/recently called lists.. I set it to back my things every day and to keep 3 recent backups. I keep my backup files in storage card so if I have to do a hard reset -ill get my contacts etc. back without computer. Thisway I avoided similar problem(just had to restore the backup with PIM backup).
PIM Backup is the best choice. Synchronization with Outlook only is dangerous - have bad experience too...
Hi
Check your deleted items in outlook on your pc. I have sometimes found activesync deletes items from my phone but they go into the outlook deleted items.
Shaks
I recently upgraded from XP to Vista and the same thing happened. I didn't back anything up either. I got lucky though, my old files from xp were saved in a folder called windows.old, went in there and found my .pst file(outlook) and placed it in the vista outlook folder and got everything back...now I backup with PIM Backup daily.
i need to format my computer, but id like to keep the zune relationship and the wp7 backup.

Hi,
My brother has been using an iPaq Pocket PC 6000 series and it is dying on him. He would like to migrate his contacts to Android. Unfortunately, he has lost his data cable but managed to make a backup of his contacts onto his memory card. I was able to transfer this backup to my PC. Is there a way to read the Pocket PC backup file? I was able to read Ovi backups using Nbu Explorer. Is there an equivalent for Pocket PC?
Many thanks for reading
I think it would be easier to find a way to import PPC backup in Outlook and from there to Android.
Hey all,
Just got home with my new Nexus - I've been running the Nexus S for over a year and had much fun with custom roms etc.
I've managed to unlock the Nexus and rooted it, I think lol.
Now I'm trying to copy my titanium backups from my Nexus S (saved on my XP laptop) - but I can't copy and files.....infact I cant even see my SD card in my computer.
I think this is normal for the Nexus? It's all done through MTP? Is this correct?
When I try copy and paste a file to my Nexus via the MTP jobby it says unable to copy because it can't be converted with media player and tells me to skip the file....?
I'm using the airdroid program but its taken over 30 mins so far for something that would of took 30 seconds on the Nexus S.
Any advice? I've searched here and google for answers but I'm completely confused now.
make sure you have the drivers installed i would suggest using the toolkit for this action as they seem to work for people with the least hassle
next upgrade to windows media player 11 it will install the MPT for XP
after all that your phone should show up in Windows Explorer
Just make sure that your phone don't have lockscreen turned on. Because when the lockscreen is on Windows will not see your SD card. If you don't want to turn off the lockscreen, the way I do is installing Airdroid and when I want to transfer file I turn it on so it keep your screen always on during transfer.
HI guys, hoping someone can assist me here.
I'm trying to transfer a video from my laptop to my LG G4. I've tried two Windows 10 machines and netiher of them recognize the phone.
I plugged the G4 to my Windows 8.1 work laptop and it recognizes the sd card. Same with Win 7
For Windows 10, are there specific drives I need to install?
Thanks for your help
Download an app for SD card write rights from google play, it's a restriction Google made since kitkat and LG loves to use extreme securities
Thanks was going to ask about that as well. Windows 7 and 8.1 can transfer the files to the SD card with no issues. Windows 10 can't seem to find the SD card. It charges it but does not recognize the SD card as a drive
I tried to delete the file which I transferred and kept getting a message the ES explorer does not have the authority to delete the file. How can I delete this file without root? Any suggestions or apps that can do this?
Have you installed any ADB programs needed to root an android device in the past? I've had the same problem and had to uninstall them.
Haven't installed any of those apps. The seeded file manager has access to delete so that a workaround of some sort
Still trying to figure how to get Es Explorer to delete files
