Custom Ringtones setting ???

guys, i have few MP3 & few OGG files which i was using them as ringtones on my previous phone.
in SGS2, i dont know how i can set custom ringtones.... i saw some OGG files in system/media/audio/ringtone folder through root explorer.
i tried copying OGG files into that folder, it allowed me. but when i went to settings/sounds/ringtone.... there it doesnt show up the newly added file...
what should i do ? is it possible to use custom ringtone on SGS2 ? if yes, how & in what format the SGS2 recognises music files....
pls let me know.... i am waiting
Hmmm think the fastest way on a clean phone would be to just play the song in the media player and then "menu > set as > phone ringtone"
Think you can also set then using kies.
Mind you I've only used mp3's so not sure if this also goes for OGG files.
hope it's somewhat usefull
Copy Ringtones to folder System/Media/ringtones . I use super manager .
Format .ogg .
Exit reboot phone .
Go to setting sounds phone ringtone scroll down and then back up for ringtone select new ringtone .
Tested working 1100 21/05/11

You can actually put them in any partition, even on the memory card, you don't have to root so long as you put them in the correct folder:
Ringtones
/media/audio/ringtones/
Alarms
/media/audio/alarms/
Notifications
/media/audio/notifications/
I believe that any audio format that the phone can support may be used
thanks guys, i played the file & in the options i set it as ringtone. that played the trick. after choosing that mp3/ogg file as default ringtone, it showed up in sound/phone ringtone setting.... till then it was not so...
thanks for you help...
it would have been better to search for list of music files from default ringtone settings....i wish.... its okay....

You don't even need the media/audio/ folders.
My sd card just has the last folder name, and any files in there show up in the relevant selection menus.

Guide to Bypass the 39sec/1mb Ringtone limit in Mango WP7.5

What you need:
1) a DEV Unlocked WP7.5 device via Chevron Labs or PreMango Unlock or the Windowbreak unlock
2) ChevronWP7 Ringtone manager
3) WP7 SDK for App Deployment install of XAPs
4) WP7RooTools
5) 2 WMA (not MP3) ringtones, 1 the length/edit of a song you want and 1 the 39sec cut of the song you want, NAME THEM EXACTLY THE SAME
Steps:
1) Create and install the custom ringtones you want with the Ringtone manager and execute the APP on you phone
2) install the 39sec version via ZUNE
3) Run WP7RootTools
4) go to the My Documents Folder, 2 folders are created 1 named My Ringtones where the Chevron7 Ringtones are and 1 named Ringtones where the Custom Mango Ringtone is saved, and as you see the file has been RANDOMLY renamed
5) go to the Chevron7 Ringtone and rename it exactly the same as the Custom Mango Ringtone
6) Copy the one you renamed
7) Paste and Replace the Custom Mango Ringtone with the one you renamed
8) press home
9) go to Settings>ringtones+sounds
10) play the ringtone and it should be the the longer/editted version you wanted and not the 39 sec Mango Ringtone
HOPEFULLY someone can make a Custom App we can XAP install and do all this for use
will test it out now and repot back
if this thing realy works, then we might have a solution
Seems overly complicated, especially considering that another way to do the same thing, plus more (also alarms and alerts), but easier, was already posted on the first page of this forum before your post!

flash ringtone

hi, i am using cm9 fx135 can someone guide me on how to flash or add(using some kind of root explorer) custom ringtones on the system?
SD card > ringtone folder > add ringtone
or..
(this is way to do it) on your pc search the rom (.zip) for a place where you put the ringtones > re-flash the rom

Install any file explorer and save the custom ringtone in your sd card. Then goto changing your ringtone option, and there, you should be prompted to use File Manager or Android System, choose File Manager, browse to your custom ringtone and choose it. Done.

Custom Ringtone?

Anybody know how to add a custom ringtone to the Razer Phone?
I can't seem to find the option anywhere.
Thanks!
I use ZEDGE from play store.
Or use a file explorer and in the main storage there is a "Ringtones" folder, put you ringtone in there. Go to settings, sounds, phone ringtone and select it from the list.
