will defy suppot tegra2 games? - Defy General

i want to ask about galaxy on fire of including tegra 2 game.gof2 will out in april and can we play gof2 on defy?

No idea. Don't care at all

without looking it up, i would just say "no", because the defy hasn't got the tegra-processor

Hey George ,
Even if the GOF2 Tegra version wouldn't work on the DEFY, the regular or the hd version of the same game will eventually work.

dude, tegra2 games only have support on tegra 2 phones, like moto atrix
this kind of phone with dual core processor
defy has a 800mhz processor, with an overclock maybe goes to 1.2ghz, half of the tegra 2
maybe you can hope for porting, but support, will never get, only phones with tegra 2 have support
sorry fow this new to you dude, buts the truth

You can play all tegra games on defy using chainfire 3d. They work like a charm.

You can play lots of tegra games after using chainfire3d,but you'd bette roverlock your defy to 1000MHz

Samurai 2 THD is just perfect at stock clock

Awesome.. So i don't get one thing.. why does the defy doesn't support it natively if its processor is powerful enough to play the game.. ??

[Q] Roms and gaming

Hi all!
I wanna ask you something about gaming with this powerful smartphone: all of us are trying many roms, MIUI roms, CM9 roms, Sense-based Roms, Leedroid, ARHD etc with a lot of kernels, EP kernel, Franco Kernel, Bricked Kernel...
Which couple Rom- Kernel is the best for gaming? In all the Sense- based Rom I've seen that Shadowgun v1.1.2 [ tegra3 effects ] have some lags while firing at the enemies... Or fruit ninja lags when I put a finger for cutting fruits...
Can you answer this? Remember, battery life is important, but this Tegra3 is meant for gaming... Go to see what is coming: Renaissance Blood, an example.
Thanks in advance.
I am using ARHD 6.0.0 and with stock rom all games are running perfectly.

ARHD? What kernel are you using?
Don't think the rom makes a big difference. Saw an article yesterday on the xda portal where a person has a way to optimize the gpu. It was called v6 supercharger.

V6 supercharger doesn't do anything to the graphics processing unit(gpu)... It is a script that changes the oom(out of memory) values and optimizes them for better e.g. Multitasking .. By the way editing oom values is useful only in low ram devices...

I will give it a try. Thanks for the answer guys.
Maybe the rom cannot make a lot of difference, but now I'm on Insertcoin and games are not flawless as I was thinking. Before that, I was on Miui release, and seems to be best for gaming. Must try all of that, now try ARHD. Thanks, forumhookerdotcom

I know it doesn't do anything to the gpu, but it allows you to use a higher processing power. It sets the minimum values to 1ghz. Apparently some games which don't optimize tegra 3 is sometimes jumping around with the amount of cpu it uses. For example from 1.2ghz to 600mhz. That is apparently causing the game to lag/stutter. Some games only use 1 - 2 cores.

I think that there isn't this that cause lag on games... Maybe a ROM instead another can be more flawless in gaming... I don't know, tonight I will flash ARHD and give it a try!

You're right they do make a difference. I think in General the small/lite roms do work best for games. Will also try ARHD sometime, waiting for latest Leedroid first. Want to upgrade and restore later to Lee's rom.

The phone only uses one or two cores because it only needs one or two cores. What the problem probably is is the switching of CPU frequency slots

Sorry mate, but with ARHD just flashed with his stock boot.img my Shadowgun THD doesn't work as well... Lags everywhere! Do you have done something else in this rom? A mode, many tricks I don't know... ?!
im also running ARHD 6.0 with Franco r6 Kernel, everything runs just smooth and fine.

Good game to "test the tegra"

Hi,
Loving my new One X but want a good app/game to really see the benefits of the tegra chip. Can anyone suggest a good game (ideally free/cheap) or app with some nice eye candy graphics for me to drool over?
Thank you please

I believe Sonic 4 Episode 2 has the most advanced effects but gameplay isn't good, best for both is ShadowGun THD and upcoming port for HOX "NOVA 3"

[Games] What can the Galaxy Nexus play?

asphalt 7 runs smoothly with overclocking kernel and aokp jellybean!
no need for overclock..
its smooth with stock kernel or trinity with the stock values
I dont like playing games on phone, so the only one i have is cut the rope exp hd, trinity kernel underclocked to 1gz and it runs without any lag
I play all the newest games with no issues or lag.

nova 3,shadowgun and dead trigger without problems,no lag at all with trinity kernel at max 1 ghz and gpu at 512mhz.i add that i have the supercharger, and one of the negative aspects of it (i red this on supercharger sript's 3ad) is the use of games..but i don't notice prob at all
I only have fruit ninja but it runs amazing
minecraft runs well on fancy graphics.

dead trigger is terribly slow with stock kernel...but with trinity it runs a lot better, there's some lagging in the beginning though
The galaxy nexus should be able to play any games out there besides the tegra 3 optimized ones of course lol. Emulators work great as well. Honestly, no apps use the superpower of the S3 yet so I'd still consider this high end.

where can i get this emulator from?
asphalt 7 , modern combat , dead trigger , gta3 all runs well...

dead trigger vs modern combat 4

So I was just wondering why dead trigger can run so well at such high graphics and such high resouktion textures, but modern combat 4 and other Gameloft games run with super low graphics and crappy textures but lag like hell. I know that dead trigger is optimized, but I really want a good reason for this, like does tegra 3 interpret Gameloft games badly? Is the GPU just really super weak? And why do older GPU like the gs2 Mali and the HTC sensation run this game better than our one x? this has been bugging me for so long, is the shader cores of our device not fit for gamloft games? Please answer, I will love you forever <3
The thing is that dead trigger is optimized for tegra 3 device since modern combat 4 no! You dont need more explanation, these is all!!

Oh OK, that answers part of it, but why do Gameloft games run better on older devices like galaxy s2 when our GPU is twice as fast and has 3times as many GPU cores?

Because our GPU are tegra 3 and the other ones are snapdragron, ... And gameloft optimized games foe it and they have get out our tegra 3 device because we need a lot of optimization!! yeah like jarein said...gamelof don't care about tegra therefore it's always running so sh*tty ....no optimizing...instead of that only lower the graphics etc ...they are just porting from iOS the game and make avaiable for tegra phones WITHOUT optimizing...really bad -.-

[Q]ICS or GB on Note 2?

Hey guys,
i want to play some games for Tegra devices but Chainfire 3d dont work on Jelly Bean.
Is there maybe a custom rom of ics or gingerbread for the note 2?
It really is a shame that the faster arm7 processor can not play the games of the weaker Tegra.
I hope someone can help me.

Its not that theyre not capable of running those games. Its just that they've been made to run exclusively on Tegra Devices or some of the features are enabled on Tegra powered devices, which with a bit of mod can be enabled on non tegra. And there are no ICS or lower versions for the Note 2. Perhaps you should write up an email to Chainfire to continue support for Chainfire3d
