Hi!
I'm using redux 1.0.2. and i want to update it.
But the problem is that i have no idea what to do and i dont want to get my phone bricked.
So can please someone tell me what to do?
thank you
If it's the same rom, just flash it unless instructions say you need to wipe. If it's a different rom do a full wipe. Depending on how confident you are do a nandroid before changing.
aha so i just need to go to recovery mode and flash it from sd card?
thank you

I have been trying to down load a custom ROM on my EVO and now it wont go past the hteEVO 4G screen. Can anyone help me out?
You need to provide more information than that. For starters, what is the link to the rom your trying to flash.
I am sorry but i Dont know the link that i tryied to down. But maybe you could help me try to reflash something else. anything to get my phone back up and running. Maybe i missed a step and nad didnt do something. I can get back into recovery mode but the phone just wont reboot all the way. Thanks
If you can still get back to recovery then you can flash another ROM, or restore the nandroid that you *should* have made before trying to flash the last one.
Pick a ROM you want, download it, put it on your SD card, flash from recovery. Easy as pie.

don't panic take a deep breath as long as you can get into your recovery you are fine...Just download whatever rom you want and store in on ur sd card and flash it and your are golden...just out of curiosity what recovery are you using?
have you tried restoring the backup you made first before you started trying to flash a custom rom?
Did you try to do a full wipe first before attempting to flash the new ROM?

There is a way to do that directly in rom. But you cannot start one. So as far as i know, you are answer referring to your current situation is: NO!

I haven't understand what is your problem, so I reply with 2 problems and relative solutions.
1. If you want to change ROM, you have to verify the necessary hboot. Ex. For AceSmod007 you can use cm7 or stock hboot, but you must flash the right zip.
2. If you want to try flash roms with another recovery you can dowload the last 4Ext recovery (you can find it in development room): there is a version that can be flashed automatically in fastboot, just putting the zip in your SD-card's root.
Hope that I have been usefull. Someone corrects me if I was wrong.
Hey thanks for the answers.
I even turned on my phone and it works (Y)
Magic
But thanks for your help.
Hi,
I know this is probably an easy and simple question for everyone. But how do i go about installing a new ROM when i already have one on there. I have the Coolsense ROM on there at the moment and i want to go and install the latest Leedroid ROM. How do i go about doing this? This is probably a simple question but i really dont want to risk bricking my phone.
Thanks in advance
you can often find instructions in the opening post of the rom thread, boot into recovery and do a full wipe, make sure your sd card is partitioned appropriately if using data2sd or a2sd, make sure the zip you want to flash is on your sd card and click flash from zip file and choose the leedroid rom, that should be it..
Hello,
There is this Droid Incredible 2 that I have that is kinda broken...
I cannot flash anything on it...
The phone is S-off and rooted. I have tried flashing new ROMs, and new Recoveries, but after it says install completed and what not, it just loads the one that was previously loaded. It has some outdated recovery (Revolutionary 4.0.0.4? or something) and an outdated ROM (One of the early "Skyrader" ROMs).
Every time I flash a new ROM, it will go through the installation process and complete, but it will boot back to the previous ROM.
Every time I flash a new Recovery, it will go through the installation process and complete, but it will go back to the previous recovery.
I have also tried flashing through ADB without success.
If anyone knows a solution to fix this problem, please help me.
Thanks!

I have flashed the phone with the stock images numerous times... but actually didn't go back somehow...
I have not tried the 4ext recovery; I will try that later tonight.
Thanks you!
I'd say format the SD card on its own and try transferring only a single rom and going from there. I don't know what formatting system mem would do but someone here might know.

Yeah, sometimes the SD card gets screwed. I don't know how or why, it just happens. And if you formatted the card, try flashing a ROM and maybe tell the phone where the boot.IMG is VIA Fastboot. If that didn't work, then try going back to a stock PMGIMG32. I don't have a S-OFF myself, but I hear you can go back to stock and it will still be rooted. If I am wrong, then someone please correct me.

depending on your recovery version, most new ICS or JELLYbean ROMs won't flash on older versions of recovery.
I'm having issues flashing multiple roms of the 4.x.x Roms. The only rom so far I have been able to install and actually run on my phone is TweakWiz V2. I have tried many other roms and they just stay in a boot loop screen. Examples are with the Avatar rom it just stays on the mask an keeps going and going. I have tried CyanogenMod/Cyan Kang an it just stays on the Circle with the bar going around on the inside.
I am running the TWRP Touch Recovery. I also have the latest Radio update and everything else is updated on my phone.
I also let the install itself run for 10+ minutes everytime. But all the roms I try they keep doing the exact same thing and staying in a boot loop.
Can anyone give me any tips or suggestions to maybe something I could do to use another rom or maybe even a suggestion to something I may have overlooked.. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
An if you need me to give any other information let me know an I will provide.
1. what recovery version not just the name ?? 2.steps you are doing to flash 3. steps you are doing after you flash

1.Im using the latest TWRP.
2. Wiping System, Cache, Dvalik or whatever. I wipe everything in the usual instructions. And I make a backup of previous ROM. Flash the ROM then the G-Apps.
3. After I flash I let the ROM run its course an I wait from 15-45 mins for the ROM to load if it doesnt I switch back to TweakWiz or try another.

try using this recovery since the recovery you are using is the latest one and technically for 4.3 ROMs, give this a shot http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/hercules/openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-hercules.tar its the same recovery but lower . the steps you clarified seem very proper but your recovery may be at fault crossing fingers try flashing that recovery through odin or download the zip from the same website and report back after trying to flash again
Are you sure you are wiping DATA also?
You will need to do this, if you are flashing a 4.2 or 4.3 ROM, then you will also want to wipe the pre-load. Then flash the rom, and gapps.
Use the newest TWRP 2.6.1.0 to flash anything, don't need an older recovery to flash older ROM's.

Is there a option I'm not deleting ?
Because I've been flashing ROMS on different phones an I have never had any issues before. I was using ICS an GB etc before an just recently decided to upgrade an use the JB (I think that's the name.) on my phone.
