I'm currently using the Clingo Vent Mount in my car and I'm looking to buy a case that will work well with the Clingo. The way I understand it is this material does not fair well with textured surfaces and silicone. I was really excited to find the Incipio Feather Case but then I realized it's silicone (or so I believe, please correct me if I'm wrong).
So I'm looking for suggestions, got any?
Have you tried it without a case? Does it stick at all, or does it just fall off right away?

Mine holds great without the case, you have to really try to get it to come off.

Which is part of the problem... The back ends up coming off when I remove it from the clingo.

I got my hands on both of these cases and did a quick review if anyones interested. I have to say im impressed with the official flip case, its the one i use on a daily basis atm.

that is great, i was on the fence with the flip cover for a bit, thank you for going the extra bit and getting both!
I had the craziest of ideas but do you think with a little bit of patience and modding that you would be able to put a slice in the gel case and slip the back cover of the flip case through it and use both?
I am not sure when ill next be able to buy another phone seeing as this one started WWIII at my house and i think i may need to really baby it, i also think if its possible we might be able to use the gel case somehow to hold the flap down, tiny magnets, who knows, im just curious if you think this is possible
Flip Case is great, works like a dream and it's raised case protects the Camera Lens, unlike the factory fitted back, one slight issue is that the Note will not slip into the 'Official' car mount when it is in the Flip case. You can snip a bit from the case to help but due to the extra width (... ;-) ) it stands proud on the one edge.
Samsung naughty designers...

Ha, I actually tried this but must have forgot to mention it in the review. No modding required it does fit in. The case warps very very slightly on the left side where the flip case joint is, but it works reasonably well though!
Not sure about holding the flap down, but it only slightly lifts itself up, it sometimes lifts very high, but just pressing it down is enough to keep it down
I am thinking about using both cases togather , would you send a picture please for using them togather ?
Been using my flip case for a couple of days. I wasn't sure at first but love it now.
Feels like part of the phone.

+1 to this and also do you like your gel case enough that if you were to buy another it would be that one again or take your chances on one of the other gel cases out there? thanks for trying the two cases together too, im too broke to risk it not working.

I'm thinking of just cutting the front flap and glue the side leather on top of the gel cover's side, close to the back cover's side, so it will have full range of motion. Reuse the original backcover for better fit. Then just a tiny velcro patch on the other side to keep it closed.

I don't think so, to be honest I'm not really a fan of gel cases anyway so I wouldn't buy any. Flexishield ones are the most popular gel ones tho

Good idea, its better to keep the full range, because I would hate the flip cover if it didn't flip all the way around.

Please post pictures how you do that and what glue you use for it to hold for long time, and look aesthetic.
I would like to do the same probably
been using the flip case for about nearly a month now in tropical weather, and the edges of the flip top have "melted" and become sticky. ugh!
have been using it for the past 3 days since i got my phone, the edges of the thin silicon lining peeled off. Soon the leather cover is gonna go in a matters of weeks.

Any suggested alternatives? I don't want to use a screen film. Just want to protect it from the inevitable drop.
Sorry but I haven't found the perfect protection for mine either.

I know this has probably been discussed, I currently have a regular TPU case on my S3. I really like it but its not very thick. The rear camera still sticks out the back of the case a little and I am worried I will get another scratch (I currently have one already). I would like to find one that bulges out the back a little so the camera sits inside the case...I ordered the UAG case and I like it..but its not very 'gripy' and the buttons are a little stiff (plus getting it off is...scary).
Thanks in advance for suggestions. I really appreciate it.

is pretty decent for the price, sticks out enough to protect the camera, similar to the belkin case at the att store
I'm on a REALLY tight budget, and I've found this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aluminum-Bu...VG/ref=sr_1_67?ie=UTF8&qid=1352551327&sr=8-67
Has somebody tried it before? Do the cover-buttons have a good response (is much more force needed to make them "click")? Any suggestions?
while it might provide a unique look to your phone, i'm not sure how much 'protection' a metal bumper will give.
once that aluminum meets concrete, it'll scratch/dent and it wont look as pretty.
I had an Element Case Vapor AR15-V when it was released for the iP4. I loved the look but it killed my reception..
I don't think/know if the S3 would fall victim to such an issue..

The aesthetic side of it is of no importance for me. On the reception issue, it was reportedly due to the antenna being linked to a section of the metal frame the iPhones had, so no problem here regarding the S3 i pressume.

I have one in blue, it works good but is lose just like that so I put pieces of tape to make it tight on the phone n also helps it not scratch the bezel .. all the buttons are accessible with no problems

I suppose you recommend it?
Edit: I've seen these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Urban-Armor...3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1352595740&sr=1-3) around, and although they seem quite nice, they surpass my budget right now. Any cheaper version of sorts? I think composite could do the trick just as fine.
Does anybody know something similar to the Urban Armor Gear (cheaper and less fancy) that could be of use?
i've always wondered if those slide on thing in the front actually stays on properly or not... I kinda prefer to have the screw on type... i think it's kinda cool.. the only thing I worry about is I don't know if the camera lens would get scratched when i place it on the back.

That link says it's 13~, but in Amazon UK all Dragon design cases I find are around 70€. Right now I've found this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Otterbox-Co...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1352662906&sr=1-1
well. the otterbox is not a bumper as well, so that's up to you. i had the commuter for the htc DZ and while it is nice, it also doubled the size of the phone.
and yeah, i didn't say the nicer bumpers were cheap,. i said they were expensive.

I'm using this case on my Note 10.1, in fact I've used IVSO cases on my previous tabs also.
My OG Tab 7 was knocked off tables, couches, etc onto laminate floor/tiled flooring a few times, the only time it came out of the case was when it was knocked out of my hands as I was actually using it. Luckily, landed on a carpeted floor.
In these IVSO case's it is pretty safe from knocks or drops.
Better off getting a case that has a fastener on it or a clip than a magnet one, after viewing the online manual for the 10.1 it clearly says stay away from magnets.
I never use mine while in the case, not only does it attract dust it also has poorer reception with the s pen.
Going to get a better one when find a case without a magnet

As in the title, i require a case that has a flat back, so that i can use the phone while it's placed on the table. At the moment the phone rocks while i try and type.
I would prefer a cheap TPU case but anything at all will do, so long as it prevents the annoying rocking movement.
Any suggestions?
