Ive installed the new cm7 with darkgapps, but for some reason the words aint right such as, when i press the power off button it gives me options, such as silent mode, reboot and shutdown, instead of it saying silent it says reboot, and when i presst shutdown, a popup comes and says sync?
another problem is, when i press the menu button and instead of the last tab saying settings, it says set alarm in alarm clock
how do i get this sorted out, ive tried rebooting and reinstalling but i still get the same stuff
Are you sure that you downloaded the proper file for HTC Vision?

Hello. So I got into a problem this morning while updating Golauncher EX. I updated it and when I pressed home, I accidentally chose to have GoTo (a lockscreen application) the default app for that. Now my phone can't return to launcher at all.
When I reboot I just get a blank screen and can't do anything besides bring the notification bar down.
I know I can easily fix this by going into settings, but I can't get to that without launcher. So I tried to get into safe mode (boot holding vol down, track pad, and menu) and I can get there after the phone vibrates (it says safe mode in bottom corner), but before I can do anything the phone reboots. I don't really want to resort to a factory reset yet, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
Also I haven't rooted my phone yet.

The only thing i can think of is press the search button, and see if that brings up the search screen. I would navigate my way to market or something, install adw, then hit home. The pop up for default should come up again, then you can make golauncher ex default?

Delete it from phone with computer. I think all the files pertaining to the app should be in sdcard/data and data/data...
Thanks for the tips guys. btw I tried using search, but nothing would pop up, but for some reason hitting menu would make a keyboard appear.
Anyways, something weird happened where when I tried booting into safe mode, my phone seemed to wipe all my settings and went into the normal launcher. It didn't delete all my apps, but made the majority of them strangely force close whenever I opened them.
In the end I just rooted my phone and everything is perfect now!

Is there something like SAFE MODE in wildfire. I think i have seen it once or a couple of times while i was using it with official eclair. It entered accidentally by key presses while restart (i expect). Don't even know the key combinations now. I do remember, there was a transparent SAFE MODE text logo at the left bottom corner of the screen. Is it true or am i dreaming.....
And if it is there, what it is for. Is it just like the WINDOWS SAFE MODE (just opening the system programs) ..?
Never heard of something like this. All I know is of a Recovery Mode. :/
There is actually.. When you start the phone, just when it says Quietly Brilliant, press the Silver Circle at the bottom.. Keep it pressed till phone boots into Safe Mode.. Useful for uninstalling third party software...

yes there it is. I rechecked it again and it is there. The way to get into it is, we should press and hold the trackpad only when it shows the HTC QUIETLY BRILLIANT LOGO. We should hold the trackpad untill a long vibration occurs and there it goes into safe mode. [And if we hold the trackpad before the quietly brilliant logo, it wont go to the safe mode]. And yes, there will be a transparent SAFE MODE logo on the left bottom corner of the screen. This is confirmed in stock roms.
And yes this safe mode is similar to the windows safe mode. So, there lies the solution to diagnose most of the software problems. I wonder why this is not highlighted yet.

So the distance walked and cycled isn't coming up for Google now since I've owned the phone. I remember turning it on when they added it, but never get a update. I also don't see where to do it any more.
Also hitting the menu button when Google now is opened flashes the menu real quick and disappears every time.

It has been an issue since latest update, you still can access to setting by opening any cards then the setting menu will be accessible.
As pakxeloas states enter the by pressing the 3 dots on the upper right of any visible card. Once you have done that you should be able to activate the "Distance travelled card". If it still does not work, switch off Google Now completely and the switch it on again.
If I long press the power button, instead of showing the menu where I have the commands like "Power off, reboot, profile, airplane mode" nothing happens and the phone locks just like if I pressed the power button once. And if I long press it for a long time the phone will force shut down which is normal.
However when I reboot my phone, everything works fine again, so when I hold the power button for 2 seconds, the menu appears. But after some time the bug will occur again and I will have to reboot which is very annoying.
Is there a fix for it? And do you think it is a hardware problem but it would be strange since after a reboot it will work.
Note : I recently factory reset my phone, wiped everything and flashed the CM 10.1.3 custom rom (which I also had before) but the power button bug reappeared. So I don't think resetting it again will fix it.
Using lg nitro hd, cm 10.1.3 rom, with wind kernel.
I just got exacly same thing, 10.1.3, wind kernel, and reboot will fix it.
Suspect is some memory leak? Logcat showed ION_IOC_ALLOC out of memory.

Ok, logcat is showing mpdecision missing timer something and throw error every 5 sec, then i figured out wind kernel 2.6 doesnt touch it, only 2.5 disable it. So i flashed 2.5 then 2.6. Now the logcat is better, but not sure this repeating error cause the oom, time will see

So my phone was in my pocket and it was getting hot so i took it out, and saw it on the boot animation. I left it and it didn't go past this boot screen so i held in the power button to restart it, and it restarted. Only when i turned it on, my 4G plan was active, and I could no longer use the notification pull down bar. I can swipe down from the top once, but not a second time to access quick settings. Also my circle and square (home and multitask) buttons are not working, the phone vibrates when i touch them but nothing happens, only the triangle (back) button works. On the lock screen, there is no longer an option to swipe right for the camera, and double pressing the home button to activate the camera does nothing, it just turns the display on and off. I have tried putting the phone into safe mode to see if an app was causing the problem, but the problem persists, when i turned my phone back on normally, the widgets on my home screen had disappeared. I tried switching accounts to the guest account but it says 'switching to guest' and then seems to fail to switch to the guest account and quickly says 'switching to (main account name)', before returning to my main account. Any ideas, I really need the problem fixed, thanks in advance!

my advice if you cant fix it try to do a factory reset do it like your last resource cause it wipes all data
another advice you should always have a backup you never know when **** like this happens

Yeah I am running stock ROM, so strange that this has happened.
I am struggling to backup photos etc as i would usually enable usb debugging and just click and drag the folders over to my PC, but it says on my settings page that 'developer options are not available to this user', so I am having to use another photo backup website, which is annoying.
This happened to be when I manually updated from MMB29Q to MHC19J without flashing MMB29V first. Only solution was to boot into TWRP to backup my files and then factory reset.
