getting a dinc this week, not looking to spend 45 on the seidio. will that battery work?

Yes it will be fine. Just a bit more of a tight fit for the battery cover some say.

prolly not, either way its prolly gonna cost the same like the extended rugged case by seidio but this looks nice, a fat battery dont pop out like the one from seidio
Kraken lol Prefer that over this new one there coming out with it loooks so fugly great idea tho.
Anyone found a holster that works with the Kraken?
I just ordered this from amazon, it's about $13 cheaper.
That looks like an AWESOME case! I have the cyclops which looks almost exactly the same and LOVE it!

What a shame that its coming out now, about 2 weeks until the EVO is dead (to me anyways). As someone who sells cases, I have no idea what takes these companies ::cough:: otterbox ::cough:: so long to bring these products to market. Dummy phones are available months prior to release in most cases. Extended battery cases I can understand taking longer but almost a year? No. I would of bought one of these 6 months ago. If I order now it probably won't be here until I get the Evo 3D anyways.
edit: holy crap. think they are charging enough for this? considering the only part I need is the rear section (I have the front piece and silicone from my cyclops and a battery) no way would I spend that on this.

Yea +1 on the timing point. they are actually suppose to create an option to buy just the backing for those that purchased a cyclops. But question how is the silicon on the cyclops is it always coming off like some people say ?

I just get an extended battery for my iphone from the web.

I agree the timing stinks but I think this one is a better option than the powerskin. You can actually see the kickstand with this one.

Amen to this comment.
As an owner of the powerskin (VERY FLAWED DESIGN, read my review on this site) and this Trident case, the Trident so far is the winner.
I received the Trident (although to the wrong address than indicated) yesterday. I was luckily home to collect it. I put the cover/battery combination on the Evo and charged it up. I'm not sure how many recharge cycles it's meant to go through before it stays charged, but so far, after one night on the wall charger, it kept a charge for one subway trip from home to work (about 35 minutes) at about 90%. So, pretty much discharged 10% in 35 minutes. I think this may be due to the newness of the battery, however, I would have expected better from the size of the battery (purported) by the company.
I'll post a more thorough review after about a week of use.

I can't comment on the seidio thing, stopped buying their defective products years ago. I'd check the dimensions of this case against the dimensions of the seidio extended battery.
the case itself is a two-part clip on:
Back part is see through (got the icy version), clips on to the front part which has a screen protector already as part of the front.
The entire thing is wrapped in a separate rubber covering that you put on after snapping the case together. The thing itself feels very nice. I don't know about the battery life, will figure it out after a few days or week's use.
The bottom part has a flip-open cover for the battery cable and other inputs.
all the buttons are accessible because adding the plastic snap on makes everything a bit recessed, these guys thought of that as well. It is a nice touch.
All-in-all, the case is very strong. I'm not at all worried about the device dinging up.
If possible could anybody that gets one of these let us know if it will fit in any of the hip holsters? I have a holster that got with my innocase extended combo and I have another holster that came with one of the ebay cheapo specials.

okay that does sound goood i shall check it up against the specs. one more question i keep hearing ppl with the cyclops saying the the rubber ring that protects the sides of the cases comes off and on when pulling out of your pocket true or false ? and how much bulk does this case actually add from the pictures it looks kind of sliming. But, i personally cant trust pictures after the deception of the powerskin.
Once again, I think this case is a thinker version of the Cyclops which I have. Great case and VERY secure but not too pocket friendly. The stickiness of the silicone bumper makes it annoying to slide in and out of tight places. But in all honestly, this case is pretty freaking sweet. The upgraded screen protector is much nicer and I believe all the cases come with an extended audio jack since it is now recessed because of the case. If I were in the market I would definitely buy the Electra!
I have this one and the original. The rubber thing has never came off, in fact it is hard to take it off. The case is wonderful and only a tad bigger than its original. The battery is good as its been up over 60 hours and awake for 12 hours with no mods.

[Q] Extended battery! Now I need a phone case.....

Just got an extended battery for my Captivate, does anyone have suggestions for a phone case?
I've used one of the silicone cases all along, but now it doesn't fit.
Thanks!
Cut up the silicone case. Make it fit.
Just got back from a cell store, I may have to hack up the gel case. Its gonna be hard to find something else.

to be honest with you i got the otterbox defender series comes with a screen protector and holster im the type of person who rarely drops there phone but that didnt stop my friend from dropping it down the 15 set of stairs man nothing was wrong no scratches but picturing it doing that without the otterbox case is like watching a non stop disney marathon for 12 hours (which is bad btw considering you hate disney)

I haven't found anything that is custom fit yet, I ordered a 2 piece snap together case that I'll have to do surgery on.... but at least it will have some protection.

I have an extended battery on the way, and have been trying to decide on what to do about the case. I have the Otterbox Commuter and really like it. I had been debating on this same mod, but if I do it, I will probably try to not cut the silicone inner lining. I think I will be able to only cut the outer shell and the inner lining would still provide some protection. My fear is that dropping the phone on the battery with no protection at all would kill it.
I just got a silicone case and cut the back so the battery can stick out lol.

The otterbox can be modified plus may give you a better look ehh versus hindering its defense against Dust and dropping it I would consider the silicon case with the back cut off but personally me I got the otterbox and got cm7.and tweaked it my battery last 29 hours plus I have a year warranty case backing it up

There is now a case available for the captivate with extended battery. Search for "Custom TPU protective case for Samsung Captivate" on ebay. It does not fit the seido 3000mah battery since it has the stupidly oversized battery door (and is stupidly expensive anyway), but fits the common size extended battery door which is included for all the other extended batteries from 2100 -3500mah I have seen. It is a slightly harder material than the body glove case so not rubbery (a plus for me since I don't like the soft rubber on some Otterboxes).
On another note, if you don't like the oversize extended battery, there is now a stock size 1800mah battery for the captivate. Search ebay for "anker captivate battery." I use roms with good battery life (dlev 4.2 and Svii are the best I have found), plus tune my phone to remove unnecessary processes, so 1800mah is plenty to get me through a day of heavy normal use. But with a big extended battery I can make it through a day of heavy abnormal use, using GPS as much as I want, tethering through most of the day, and playing intense games or watching videos for hours.
More extended battery notes.
If you want to get your phone as close to stock size with a large extended battery, the solution also comes from ebay. Search for "mesh captivate case." It is a rubber coated plastic very light shell for the captivate. And it comes in colors if you want to jazz up your phone. Long shipping time from china, but only $3 with free shipping. It is the best case I have found for mods since it is semi-rigid so holds its shape and easy to cut with a dremel cutting wheel. It can be cut to accommodate the door of an extended battery, but an even better solution is to use it without a battery door at all. This will get you as close to stock size as possible with a large extended battery.
Cut a square in the shell to fit the battery itself without the battery door. You don't really need the battery door since once you slide the slider up, it holds the battery in without it. You have the shiny battery protruding through the case only a couple of mm and only in the 2x2" section instead of the much larger section you have to cut out if it had a door. You can paint over the battery with black paint so it is not noticeable, and when you hold it in your hand no one can even see it's a frankenphone.
An unmodified mesh case is also useful for me to not have to use the metal battery door with a stock size battery. You can put a small piece of sticky velcro (or whatever) on the battery as a spacer and put the mesh case on the phone without a battery door. With the 1800 stock size anker battery and the mesh case, it is lighter and thinner than any stock phone with a case plus has 20% or more battery life, better GPS, and better ventilation.
I don't like to use the stock captivate metal door since it degrades the GPS on my phone. When the metal door is installed, I cannot use the GPS on my phone while it is charging since it is so inaccurate. When using the mesh case or the extended battery with plastic door, the GPS works much better and works fine while charging.
The downside to using the mesh case without a battery cover is that the internals are more exposed to dirt, dust, and water. Since I don't use my phone in dirty or wet environments or drop it much, this is not a concern to me but could be for some people.

Seidio Rugged Extended or Trident electra for sprint 2600 extended battery?

I'm looking for case options to use with the sprint 2600 battery, any suggestions? I saw the trident electra and it looks sick http://cgi.ebay.com/Trident-Electra...ccessories&hash=item3cb8d6da83#ht_1834wt_1163, but its $50 and I must purchase the battery. I also saw the seidio rugged extendedhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Rugged-Seidio-Innocase-Holster-Combo-HTC-EVO-Extended-/250865882528?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a68c595a0#ht_2353wt_1163 but I heard you need to do some mods to it in order to work with the 2600 battery, is this true?
Also where can I shop to find the lowest prices on cases?
Edit I can't live with the phone in my pocket waiting for the screen to get scratched, do you guys recommend the zagg invisiable shield? I'm going to BestBuy to check out the options later.
I have the trident case and all my flash photos come out cloudy.
I have the seidio rugged extended with the Sprint 2600 mah battery and it fits perfect with no modding....it also takes pictures and records fine so don't believe people who say needs modded because apparently they are just makin accusations ... The seidio also saved my EVO numerous times...ill take the bulkiness for it saving my money and my EVO.....I got it off amazon the second I ordered the battery from Sprint..
I have the Seidio case with the sedio battery and I love it. The bulk is worth the peace of mind.

Seidio and Amzer have a slim profile "extended" battery. I think the jury is still out on the usefulness of these since those battery capacity tests came out a while back showing that they offered no more capacity than stock and in some cases less.
Bought the 3500 battery from Best Buy. Its an off brand, platinum something or other but it says seidio on the back of it. Just ordered the seidio innocase extended rugged off of amazon for 36 and some change. Sad to put my otterbox off to the side but with the amount of streaming I do at work, I kind of need the bigger battery.
I have owned the seidio 3500 for 8 months...its a great battery. I ran it naked for about 2 months before that day I dropped it...and destroyed my screen. I replaced my screen and promptly order the rugged combo. Since I have actually dropped my phone from 4 feet on concrete/wood/pavement probably 6 times to prove how amazing it is...the seidio rugged does exactly what it says. Its very very impressive.

I have this Chichitec 1900mah that fits with the original back cover, does much better than the 1500 mah.
Ive used this for a week now, and Ive liked it, but still i feel i need more battery just in case since im a moderate-heavy user (500+ texts a day, 5-15 phone calls, 30 minutes of web browsing a day), so wondering if i should get the 3500..
but all in all, this battery lasts me from 10am to 10 pm on the Mikrom, and from 10am til 12 with about 20% left on Shift Deck.
BUT TAKE IN CONSIDERATION, MOST OF THE DAY I TURNED MY DATA OFF.
ALSO, IVE ONLY USED IT FOR 2 DAYS WITHOUT CALIBRATING MY BATTERY. ONE ON SHIFT DECK AND THE OTHER ON MIKROM.
will report tomorrow night how it is with the calibration done on MIKROM.
Heres the link.

Well i started using my phone at 12:27, and it is now 7:31 and i have 62 percent, with screen dimmed almost all the way down, no syncing and data on only when needed (about 30 minutes on), 7 phone calls, and 400+ texts so far.
I could live like this. Lol. Doesnt bother me much.

Have used the Seido extended rugged case and battery, and battery life is great - couple of days with mixed use for me - BT and GPS on, occasional WiFi & 'net; case and battery combo fit perfectly. The rugged case is so tight however, that I suspect the on/off button is continually pressed or frequently pressed by the case alone, and I recently began to have issues with the phone rebooting itself, refusing to turn off (without removing the battery), and other quirks that I attributed to the battery (Seido's) after several months of use; also bulks up the case/phone considerably. Battery also got fairly hot, measured internally (routinely over 100F), because the case really does enclose everything. I used the Otterbox Defender as well with the standard battery, and the Seido standard case. The #1 problem with both of them is the need for the standard battery - won't even get me through a day without recharging. Seido standard is a bit more rugged, and both cases have multiple reviews elsewhere; I like the Seido case better, for a number of reasons, but refer to problem #1.
Have recently switched to the Trident Electra and love it; the integrated back (no stock back plate) makes the unit almost as compact as either the Otterbox or Seido standard with the slim battery; I'm using the Trident extended battery, and so far the extended battery is outlasting the standard by I would guess double (still on the first recharge, so time will tell). Case is pretty rugged, but not as tough as the Seido I suspect (Otterbox may be comparable to the Trident because it's not quite as heavy duty as the Seido IMO). Seido and Otterbox have an extra layer of plastic over the phone on the inside, but I'm guessing the Trident would protect the phone from normal drops, bumps and whacks very well. The nice thing about the Trident also is that it looks like all of the case parts are replaceable; anything breaks on the Seido or Otterbox you need a new case. There are also ventilation holes in the back of the Trident case, and so far battery temp stays under 80F (consistently 77F to date). The Seido standard holster, BTW, fits the Trident case perfectly, and I like the Seido locking clip. I think I'm going to like this case and battery....
As an addendum, the Trident case is not a pocket case - I don't think any case with a silicone covering is. The soft rubber picks up lint, cat hair, dust, anything remotely attracted to it. You need a holster for this case, or any other case that isn't hard plastic....

Same to ya! haha.
just recieved my "Electra" case (black w/red bumper). first impression looks/feels good. The 2800 mah battery that comes with the case is the same dimensions as the 3500 battery i bought of amazon. Fits perfect!

What kind of extended battery do you use?

I'm looking to buy a better extended battery for my Evo4G, does anyone have any reccomendations? I'd prefer to also have a silicone case that goes with the new battery and cover as well..
Also, kind of side-related, but I use a Sense 3.5 rom, is there a better kernal that supports longer battery life? I'm using ChopSuey, and i'm not impressed, and i'm thinking it could cause of my cheap extended battery?
I've been using a Seidio 3500mah battery for over a year. I get about 3 days of moderate use, 2 days of pretty heavy use. That is with Wifi on, Wimax and BT off. Typical day for me is 7 hours of streaming google music on wifi while at work plus about 1 hour of web browsing between home and work. I dont use any kind of case on my phone. The Seidio battery cover extends out to protect the camera lens nicely. I have pretty big hands and the added side of the battery sticking out feels better in my hand than the stock battery/cover. The extra weight also makes the phone feel somehow more sturdy, I like not going to break it.
Watch craigslist in your area. I picked up the Seidio, battery cover, extra stock battery and external charger for $35 used.
I use a gorilla gadgets 3500 I have a sedio 3500 as well but the gorilla gadgets one actually lasts a little bit longer
Hearing XDA recommend the Sedio 35000 has solidified my decision to get one myself.
I got a Gorilla Gear battery before a trip to Russia. Charged it a couple of times, etc. etc.... It gave me 13+ hours of video on the plane and sitting in airports plus 30 SMS, 12 phone calls and a couple of games of Gin and Cribbage. When I arrived in Moscow, it had 31% charge remaining.

+1 mine lasts about 4hrs longer than my seido 3500 with the same usage and settings
Holy cow... thanks for the heads up. My darn charging port just stopped working, I use some off-brand Chinese extendo battery and get nowhere close to that.
Generally, you get what you pay for. That's why I won't put a $6 battery into a $200 phone. I am enjoying 16-24 hours (depending if I have wifi and 4G on) on my Seido 3500 battery.
Side note: Most of the extended batteries come with flimsy, poorly-fitting battery doors. If you get a 3200 or 3500mah battery, get a Mugen extended battery door, it's higher quality and less likely to scratch or have a tab break off.

My door that came with my gorilla gadgets battery is nice it looks better than some of the other doors too like a deeper stock door instead of a bulge in the battery area its smooth and just tapered at the edges I've dropped mine a few times and got a hairline crack in it but that was after dropping it down about 5 or 6 concrete steps I did sand my door tho cuz it had a rubbery texture that after about 10 months had some worn spots in it so I took some 200 grit paper and sanded the finish off then took 1600 grit and wet sanded it to look like bushed aluminum texture

[GSM] Any one have the 3500 mAh and cover?

Well I saw it here: http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-3500-extended-life-battery-p/bacy35ssgng-gy.htm but I want to see if anyone have a picture of it with the cover: http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-convert-extended-case-holster-p/bd4-hkr4ssgnlx2.htm since those pics are not the best ones. Also do you recommend it?
Thanks

I don't have a picture at the moment. I don't have that exact model, but the model I got from ebay is a 3800 mAh. I also got a case that fits around it.
With the case and the battery it is probably twice as thick as the phone with standard battery and no case. I don't mind, it fits in my pocket very easily and I feel much more comfortable with it.
took some pictures
I also have 3800mah battery, i took some pictures. rider.planet.ee/nexus
At first it felt little bit to big, but after few days its ok, fits in pocket.

Same questions to you... Have you been able to find any cover?
I just bought a cheapie ebay extended battery with cover, and it definitely improves battery life to nearly double the oem battery. I am pleased for the $8 I paid.

Couple it with a bumper case (so the cover fits) and you have decent protection.
I bought an Onite 3500 mAh battery from Amazon several weeks ago for vacation days hiking. I was surprised how small it was. I didn't take it off until a week after I got back. In the city I get at least 2 days with juice to spare. It also supposedly has NFC, but haven't used it yet. It came with an extended back cover.
I bought an extended soft TPU case and pair that with a Seidio surface holster.
I paid about $13 for the battery, and combined with cases, no shipping.
I'm definitely happy with the battery.

I bought this battery for my GSM - ebay.co.uk/itm/251005399006?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_3041wt_1113
they send me 3800mAh instead of 3500mAh, or is it just a sticker on the battery that says its 3800mAh, definitely it lasts longer than OEM battery. Haven't bought case yet, but this one looks nice - amazon.com/Trexcell-Transparent-Thermoplastic-Universal-aftermarket/dp/B007XWP788/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344185186&sr=8-1&keywords=extended+soft+TPU+case+nexus

I bought that case and it is fine. It is actually somewhat translucent and has a slight pattern on the back. It means I can't keep my mad money in my phone case, but otherwise it did the extended battery well.
The Onite batteries seem to be getting more expensive but they can still be found for about 25 dollars, which I still think is a good deal. My 13$ battery is a veritable steal.
