Today I received my 1800mAh Lithium-Polyner battery for my XDA Exec. The manufacturer claims 11% more load than a standard battery, while still fitting in the standard battery slot, without the need for a thicker cover.
It is cheap as hell (20 euros) and can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....from=R8&satitle=220016822659&category0=&fvi=1
It's currently charging so tomorrow at the end of the day I should be able to tell how it compares.
So Wiz, how is the battery holding up?
I've used replacement batteries in the past and they all seem to have problems reporting the correct charge. Is this one the same?
Good luck,
Pug.
say clear of seller mr buybits on ebay his 3200 battery always say 100% and you wont get the black battery cover thats advertise , insted you get a silver cheap looking one
i bought a 3800mAh battery with black case from expansys. it works flawlessly. the extra thickness is worth the extended battery life. i don't have to pay attention to the battery at all now (as long as i charge it every night of course)
whow what it last 24 hours .. tell me more about that battery .how many hours you get from it using in wile the screen is on ?? and how much was it ?
regards

Hi.. How thick is the additional bat? Do you think it will still fit the piel frama book type leather case? Im thinking of buying the same from expanys. Good thing I bumped into your post
Thanks!
Thick
It's thick, you will not be able to use your Piel Frama case.
yup it's about an extra 9mm, but my belt case fits it nicely (an old iPAQ 'extended battery' case). the belt case i originally had for it was too tight with the stock battery anyway.

Ok, I will let you guys know if I was successful in trying to squeeze it in. i will also let you know if I managed to tear / break the case, haha. Thanks!

I don't use any case whenever I'm using the extended battery. Don't try to squeeze it in, i tried it before on my Piel Frama case, u will just end up breaking that wonderful case of yours.

Ok then. I'll take that you broke your wonderful case??? It's just that I so wanted to still use it despite the bulky battery. Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna order from expansys soon. I'm just checking other sites in case there's a better place to order the extended bat. I'd love to have the lion battery but it's too expensive so I'm settling for the 3800 mAh one.
P.S. I found this "pencil case" that would probably perfectly fit my dopod with the extended bat... BUT (yes, a big but), it's a Barbie pencil case. Sure, im a girl and i'd probably pull it off but still, isn't it a big insult for our fabulous phone? haha..

Hehehe, that's cute! I think the 3800 mah battery is also lithium ion. I understand your praise about the universal. I mean it's a great device, especially the VGA screen (that stands out from the rest of the PPC phone). I bought my extended battery from ebay.
1800mAh battery
The thread has gone somewhat off-topic here. I have used the 1800mah battery for a week or 2 now, and it does deliver the additional 12%
It may not be as much as the 3800 battery, but for day to day usage that battery is too thick and heavy anyway. I prefer to keep that one for long business trips or holidays.
The 1800 battery just gives that little extra while allowing the Exec in it's regular case (for me Covertec)
Where did you buy your battery from?the site that i saw that had it they were currently out of stock.I have ordered the other battery but it is huge makes it feel like a gun is in my pocket. The jj is already a monster and to add the extra weight is a ilttle too much.

Its not in english so i dont know wth it says.Im in the US and am skeptical about what im reading.
As the seller has a 99.5% positive feedback from 48378 ebayers, i would assume it is as safe as you are going to get! If in doubt, give him a shout - Send a message, i am sure you will get a response fairly quickly?
It does state worldwide shipping and to contact the seller for details.
sent a message with no response.I would like to know the total in us dollars though.the way i figure it ,it comes to almost 60 bucks and pdaden has them for 46 shipped and 52 for a 2-3 day shipping.i will wait another day to see if he can let me know how much it will cost me.
I got free shipping to the netherlands for that price. Until now it performs admirably. I'll try to run some SPB battery rundown tests this weekend both with the original shipping battery and this 1800mAh li-polymer battery.
PS I didnt notice the 1750 Pdaden batteries until the last post by southernint3l, but from where I am at, the free shipping to the Netherlands beats the $10-$20 shipping I would have to pay from the US hands down.
Hi,
Wife loves her Evo, but hates the battery life. She really uses it, so she has to keep it on the charger. I have a Platinum (aka Seidio) 3500mah battery and love it, but she doesn't like how it makes the phone "huge". So I got her the Sprint battery. It's not much smaller, but apparently it is good enough. But she won't use the phone without a case. This is probably a good thing, because she drops it. Much more often than I like. I've been looking for a good case that will fit the battery. I've seen several posts that say that Seidio's Surface extended case will work. But I was thinking about the purple Laza case for Laza's extended battery (can't post a link. It's on Amazon). She loves purple, so this would be perfect. Does anyone know if this would work, or if there are any other cases that I should consider for her phone?
Thanks
In terms of cases your gonna be limited on what you can get . In the case of the Seidio (which I have) I had to cut the back out of a TPU case and more or less make a bumper case on my phone . Essentially you could do the same with the Sprint 2600 and its backplate . But you will still have a hump coming out of the case . The Laza case I believe only works for their backplate unless you are planning on getting that with the purple case . Like I said your options are gonna be limited . In terms of cutting a case like I mentioned before . If you take your time and measure it out very well you would almost believe it was part of the extended battery back and one piece .
Can you buy the backplate separately from the battery? I didn't see it for sale anywhere, but might have missed it. I'd be fine doing that if I could do it and if it would work with the battery. I'd also do it for my Seidio battery as well. I'd rather have one of the silicone cases than the Seidio case.
More than likely you should be able to buy the battery back by itself . I know Seidio sells their battery back as a seperate part . As for other battery manufacturers I am not sure about .

Right. It's just a question of finding one that will fit the Sprint 2600 battery. It has an oddly shaped battery cover. If I could replace the battery cover with something more common, then the world of cases would open right up...
May this help you decide
For what would be cheaper than the cost for a back elsewhere I thought why not just get a cheap battery for the price.
The 2600 battery I have is a cheap chinese version its the same size as the 3500 I got from Amazon, they fit the same back... Appears to be the same size as sprints 2600.
http://www.amazon.com/Laza-Sprint-Extended-Battery-Silicone/dp/B004LOBXZ2
The 3500 (generic, not laza) was 8$ and some change, comes with a back (exact size as lazas 3500 battery back) and fits the laza silicone case (you mentioned) that I also got (14.99) and it fits perfect, so you could use both 2600 and 3500 batteries with same back..
Those and a 6$ hdmi cable qualified me for free shipping (took about 2wks)... but all for under 30.
Backing fits case, contours and protects well, awesome battery life
after calibration. I been using for about 3 wks now.
No complaints ...it is bulky but I got big hands and it feels sturdy.
i bought my case from gorillagadgets.com check it out. pretty nice and fits the phone w/ extended battery

Do you happen to have the link to the battery that you bought. Buying an ultra cheap battery for the back sounds like a good idea for me. I already have the 2600mah from Sprint and it's too late to bring it back. I used it for a while, and I liked it, but in the end, I opted for the Seidio 3500. So I want my wife to use the 2600 from Sprint.

I have an extended battery on the way, and have been trying to decide on what to do about the case. I have the Otterbox Commuter and really like it. I had been debating on this same mod, but if I do it, I will probably try to not cut the silicone inner lining. I think I will be able to only cut the outer shell and the inner lining would still provide some protection. My fear is that dropping the phone on the battery with no protection at all would kill it.
I just got a silicone case and cut the back so the battery can stick out lol.

The otterbox can be modified plus may give you a better look ehh versus hindering its defense against Dust and dropping it I would consider the silicon case with the back cut off but personally me I got the otterbox and got cm7.and tweaked it my battery last 29 hours plus I have a year warranty case backing it up

There is now a case available for the captivate with extended battery. Search for "Custom TPU protective case for Samsung Captivate" on ebay. It does not fit the seido 3000mah battery since it has the stupidly oversized battery door (and is stupidly expensive anyway), but fits the common size extended battery door which is included for all the other extended batteries from 2100 -3500mah I have seen. It is a slightly harder material than the body glove case so not rubbery (a plus for me since I don't like the soft rubber on some Otterboxes).
On another note, if you don't like the oversize extended battery, there is now a stock size 1800mah battery for the captivate. Search ebay for "anker captivate battery." I use roms with good battery life (dlev 4.2 and Svii are the best I have found), plus tune my phone to remove unnecessary processes, so 1800mah is plenty to get me through a day of heavy normal use. But with a big extended battery I can make it through a day of heavy abnormal use, using GPS as much as I want, tethering through most of the day, and playing intense games or watching videos for hours.
More extended battery notes.
If you want to get your phone as close to stock size with a large extended battery, the solution also comes from ebay. Search for "mesh captivate case." It is a rubber coated plastic very light shell for the captivate. And it comes in colors if you want to jazz up your phone. Long shipping time from china, but only $3 with free shipping. It is the best case I have found for mods since it is semi-rigid so holds its shape and easy to cut with a dremel cutting wheel. It can be cut to accommodate the door of an extended battery, but an even better solution is to use it without a battery door at all. This will get you as close to stock size as possible with a large extended battery.
Cut a square in the shell to fit the battery itself without the battery door. You don't really need the battery door since once you slide the slider up, it holds the battery in without it. You have the shiny battery protruding through the case only a couple of mm and only in the 2x2" section instead of the much larger section you have to cut out if it had a door. You can paint over the battery with black paint so it is not noticeable, and when you hold it in your hand no one can even see it's a frankenphone.
An unmodified mesh case is also useful for me to not have to use the metal battery door with a stock size battery. You can put a small piece of sticky velcro (or whatever) on the battery as a spacer and put the mesh case on the phone without a battery door. With the 1800 stock size anker battery and the mesh case, it is lighter and thinner than any stock phone with a case plus has 20% or more battery life, better GPS, and better ventilation.
I don't like to use the stock captivate metal door since it degrades the GPS on my phone. When the metal door is installed, I cannot use the GPS on my phone while it is charging since it is so inaccurate. When using the mesh case or the extended battery with plastic door, the GPS works much better and works fine while charging.
The downside to using the mesh case without a battery cover is that the internals are more exposed to dirt, dust, and water. Since I don't use my phone in dirty or wet environments or drop it much, this is not a concern to me but could be for some people.

I'm looking for case options to use with the sprint 2600 battery, any suggestions? I saw the trident electra and it looks sick http://cgi.ebay.com/Trident-Electra...ccessories&hash=item3cb8d6da83#ht_1834wt_1163, but its $50 and I must purchase the battery. Also where can I shop to find the lowest prices on cases?
Edit I can't live with the phone in my pocket waiting for the screen to get scratched, do you guys recommend the zagg invisiable shield? I'm going to BestBuy to check out the options later.
I have the trident case and all my flash photos come out cloudy.

Seidio and Amzer have a slim profile "extended" battery. I think the jury is still out on the usefulness of these since those battery capacity tests came out a while back showing that they offered no more capacity than stock and in some cases less.
Bought the 3500 battery from Best Buy. Its an off brand, platinum something or other but it says seidio on the back of it. Just ordered the seidio innocase extended rugged off of amazon for 36 and some change. Sad to put my otterbox off to the side but with the amount of streaming I do at work, I kind of need the bigger battery.
I have owned the seidio 3500 for 8 months...its a great battery. I ran it naked for about 2 months before that day I dropped it...and destroyed my screen. I replaced my screen and promptly order the rugged combo. Since I have actually dropped my phone from 4 feet on concrete/wood/pavement probably 6 times to prove how amazing it is...the seidio rugged does exactly what it says. Its very very impressive.

I have this Chichitec 1900mah that fits with the original back cover, does much better than the 1500 mah.
Ive used this for a week now, and Ive liked it, but still i feel i need more battery just in case since im a moderate-heavy user (500+ texts a day, 5-15 phone calls, 30 minutes of web browsing a day), so wondering if i should get the 3500..
but all in all, this battery lasts me from 10am to 10 pm on the Mikrom, and from 10am til 12 with about 20% left on Shift Deck.
BUT TAKE IN CONSIDERATION, MOST OF THE DAY I TURNED MY DATA OFF.
ALSO, IVE ONLY USED IT FOR 2 DAYS WITHOUT CALIBRATING MY BATTERY. ONE ON SHIFT DECK AND THE OTHER ON MIKROM.
will report tomorrow night how it is with the calibration done on MIKROM.
Heres the link.

Well i started using my phone at 12:27, and it is now 7:31 and i have 62 percent, with screen dimmed almost all the way down, no syncing and data on only when needed (about 30 minutes on), 7 phone calls, and 400+ texts so far.
I could live like this. Lol. Doesnt bother me much.

Have used the Seido extended rugged case and battery, and battery life is great - couple of days with mixed use for me - BT and GPS on, occasional WiFi & 'net; case and battery combo fit perfectly. The rugged case is so tight however, that I suspect the on/off button is continually pressed or frequently pressed by the case alone, and I recently began to have issues with the phone rebooting itself, refusing to turn off (without removing the battery), and other quirks that I attributed to the battery (Seido's) after several months of use; also bulks up the case/phone considerably. Battery also got fairly hot, measured internally (routinely over 100F), because the case really does enclose everything. I used the Otterbox Defender as well with the standard battery, and the Seido standard case. The #1 problem with both of them is the need for the standard battery - won't even get me through a day without recharging. Seido standard is a bit more rugged, and both cases have multiple reviews elsewhere; I like the Seido case better, for a number of reasons, but refer to problem #1.
Have recently switched to the Trident Electra and love it; the integrated back (no stock back plate) makes the unit almost as compact as either the Otterbox or Seido standard with the slim battery; I'm using the Trident extended battery, and so far the extended battery is outlasting the standard by I would guess double (still on the first recharge, so time will tell). Case is pretty rugged, but not as tough as the Seido I suspect (Otterbox may be comparable to the Trident because it's not quite as heavy duty as the Seido IMO). Seido and Otterbox have an extra layer of plastic over the phone on the inside, but I'm guessing the Trident would protect the phone from normal drops, bumps and whacks very well. The nice thing about the Trident also is that it looks like all of the case parts are replaceable; anything breaks on the Seido or Otterbox you need a new case. There are also ventilation holes in the back of the Trident case, and so far battery temp stays under 80F (consistently 77F to date). The Seido standard holster, BTW, fits the Trident case perfectly, and I like the Seido locking clip. I think I'm going to like this case and battery....
As an addendum, the Trident case is not a pocket case - I don't think any case with a silicone covering is. The soft rubber picks up lint, cat hair, dust, anything remotely attracted to it. You need a holster for this case, or any other case that isn't hard plastic....

Same to ya! haha.
just recieved my "Electra" case (black w/red bumper). first impression looks/feels good. The 2800 mah battery that comes with the case is the same dimensions as the 3500 battery i bought of amazon. Fits perfect!
Hi everybody,
This is my first topic in this forum, but I have already read you lots of time and you were very helpful for me. I have a problem with my Galaxy nexus, for work I travel a lot, but I’m not able to reach evening with the phone turn on. I do not want to change the inside software with a mod application, so I decide to buy an extended battery. I live in Italy and the only one avaible for my phone is an Mtec battery. There are lots of review in the net about it, and they are quite good. With the extended battery the old TPU cover can’t fit properly, so I need a new one. I looked about a “Hyperion Samsung Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery HoneyComb TPU Case”, and it seems good , so, have someone use this cover with a standard internation extended battery (not yperion, Anker, Qcell battery)?
Regards,

I own and like mine.
It will last about 14 hours using GPS / maps, heavy network use and some browsing during lunch. Also have the "Hyperion TPU Case" - search ebay for bundled deals. I really like still having 20% battery left when I get home and not carrying a car-charger AND a spare battery.
I purchased the Hyperion battery and absolutely love it. I also ordered two cases with it. Instead of the Hyperion case, I got the Trexcell tpu case for the galaxy nexus and 3800 mah battery; reviews were better, and I can verify that it is a good fit. I also got the Seidio extended Convert Combo, and love it.

Love the battery. Hated the case. Took a knife to it and exposed the power and volume buttons. Now it's good.

That was why the TPU case that I got (along with the Seidio) was the one from Trexcell instead of Hyperion. The Trexcell TPU case has the buttons already cut out. The Trexcell is quite nice, although I've hardly used it since trying the Seidio extended convert combo.

Sorry if I never answer before, but working is killing me....
I look about Trexcell TPU case on amazon, and from pictures, it seems it' s not a flexible cover, but a rigid cover, can you confirm this, or am I wrong? Thanks

No... The Trexcell TPU is a typical TPU case. Somewhat flexible, but stiffer than rubber or silicone. It's actually quite nice for the price.

I didn't actually purchase them together as a combo. Just bought the items at the same time on Amazon:
Battery: http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Extended-Compatible-SCH-i515-CAPABILITIES/dp/B007C8XRJY
Trexcell case: http://www.amazon.com/Trexcell-Tran...ermarket/dp/B007XWP788/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_text_z
Seidio extended Convert Combo: http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-BD4-HKR4SSGNLX-Convert-Extended-Holster/dp/B0076MI9F8
Very happy with all three items.
Hi everybody, at last I bought seido extended tpu case, and the battery is a very cheap MTEC 3800 mha.
The cover fixes properly, so thanks everybody for help!
