is there anyway to make the droid inc LED for notifications brighter?
i just upgrade from the Eris, im on the CM7 rom, and theres a setting to change the color of the led, and when you test the notification the LED is bright!!! but then after when you recivece a text its back to the dime LED you can barely see.
Is your LED perhaps defective? My led is always bright enough for my taste. In fact it is sometimes too bright so I turned it off.
weird thats why i was wondering, it really bright if i just "test the notification"
Just a suggestion. Try another kernel and see what happens.

I'm having a bit of trouble. Whenever I get a text message or MMS the green notification LED doesn't turn to amber? Anyone know a way to get it to turn amber when a message is received?
Haha, I wish you were right and we had a problem. No, this is what we call a feature in the Excalibur. The LED doesn't turn amber at all when you receive a message.
The only way you can tell you have received a message is when the phone is charging and there's a steady green or a steady yellow. If a message is received, then it blinks green.
It's really annoying and pisses me off coming from the PPC world but that is just the way it is. If it makes you feel better, Treo 750 users have similar issues and that's a full blown WM5 phone.
There may be programs floating around that can change the LED upon certain triggers but the ones that I have tried don't really work. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. We all know that the LED can blink yellow, green or red. It should just be a matter of software to get that going.
I have been using DontForget. It has the ability to turn off your LED and have it blink only when you have and email, or SMS or a missed call. Or, if you like to keep the normal flashing, you can set it to just blink faster when there's a notification. IMO this should be part of the OS. Get it at http://blog.softimage.cz/?page_id=83
I have also been using DF since Day 1 but it is kinda quirky. I would prefer to change the color of the LED rather than turn it off completely and have it flash faster (I mean how the hell do you distinguish the faster flashing from the slower flashing--I can't and I tried).
I've configured my DF to turn off the LED as well, i'm quite happy with it
Sweet! Thanks a lot for the help. It was a life saver
Hello!
Does anybody know if there is a notification LED on the Desire? I had previously just assumed that there was.
There is no mention of it in the specifications, but then again, neither the Hero or the Magic have this mentioned. When looking at the pictures of the Desire http://www.htc.com/uploadedImages/WWW/Press_Room/Product_Photo_Gallery/HTC_Desire/Download_01.jpg I do not see anything that resembles of a notification LED. The only place would be in the optical touchpad, but I am not sure.
What do you think?

Ah, excellent. As long as there is a LED I am happy
You can't see the LED on pictures of the Nexus One either, as it is invisible when it is not lit. (It's in the upper right corner between the earpiece and the screen. Nice design choice in my opinion. Probably similar setup on the Desire.
It looks similar to the Blackberry LED's. They're not visible when not lit but are when lit, sort of under the outer casing.
the notification led is the same led as charging led
It seems to blink insanely slow, like every 8 seconds. That's not fast enough to catch if there's a notification just peeking.
I'm trying out NoLED but it doesn't always seem to work, sometimes it'll show up and sometimes it won't.
Download the application called Light Flow, set the notification color as white, and choose the fastest blink rate. The color will still be red but you'll get a nice fast blink rate.
hmm... does everybodys light blink?
mine stays solid.

Are you using Handcent? I read something about Handcent causing this phone's notification light to stay solid.
light flow with white setting blinks on mine
I thought I saw my wife's phone has the tiny Green LED on top that flashes on missed call. I don't have it on mine. How do I test or get this LED to flash? Does it even exist or it's replaced by the bottom RGB LED? Either or, can someone please educate me on this? I must have turned off the feature somewhere perhaps?
Thanks in advance
You may have turned off the pulse notification light. But if you haven't you should probably know that the light is kinda iffy sometimes lol. Download light flow and you can set the color of the led and for it to blink at a certain speed or even be a solid light
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Does anyone notice that the LED light, when flashing with a new notification becomes a little dimmer after a while? It's only on the same notification. If I check my msg, and another one comes in, for the first few minutes it's pretty bright but then again it gets dimmer with time.
Anyone else notice that?
