has anyone tried to use these to update to sense 2.1? Or is this even possible to use on the EVO because its cdma?

Ive looked at this ROM before. It isn't sense 2.1 the desire hd has 2.0

Seriously?
You do realize that the HTC Legend runs HTC Sense? We already have a great theme for that. It's called HTC Sense and it comes with every HTC Hero out there.

yes iknow that but i would like to have the ui in settnings and like friendstream

Any 2.1 rom should have that menu and the friendstream is an app when someone gets hold of the .apk for it then that should be possible as well.

We won't be able to theme something like FriendStream, but like mentioned above, there will be an APK for it.
Within minutes of the Legend being released we will have a system dump. It won't be long.
I am also waiting a lot for the dev's to get the ROm of the HTC Desire and Legend and adapt it for Hero!
I am so excited to get all these new features ( i don't care about the stupid pinch to see desktops, but the copy-paste , Bluetooth audio on 2.1 ROM, the new contact widgets, etc..)
Villain is really nice but still buggy and i am sure it will get really better when he will get the Legend/Bravo sources!
im hoping its soon its a really nice UI !!
I'm looking forward to this as well. Does villain have good 3d gaming? i havent tried his yet because of this.

You do know we can already copy and paste don't you? Bluetooth audio works on some 2.1 roms already and so does the new contact widget and even pinch zoom on desktop. Currently the only real thing we are missing is the friend stream.

No it does have problems with this but that's more due to the files we have available than how he has made the rom, we need a more complete htc 2.1 rom before this will work properly

He won't get the Legend/Bravo sources! Android 2.1 is already available AOSP, and the HTC stuff is closed source.
To be honest, I rather expect the Hero update to be pretty much everything that will be on the Legend, so the real issue here is which will come first - the Legend or the Hero 2.1 update?

He probably meant that the copy and paste feature have been much improved since 1.5, if you watch the presentation of the new HTC phones.
In about a month, we're getting the same Sense update..
For the who wants to know:
The new ROM is already compiled for the Nexus one and works 99%.
I really hope that once it's OK for the N1, we will get it for the Hero!

Exactly, people don't seem to be understanding this point.
Also about 80-85% of the features are also available on custom roms (albeit maybe a little buggy until we get the real thing)

I mean, when x10 gets rooted, will it be possible to "extract" mediascape application and port it to, say, desire? SE has said that scapes are just applications.
I know they (x10, desire) have different screen resolutions.

It would be possible to port the rom if someone works on it, but that means downgrading to 1.6 just for the SE apps and losing the HTC Sense apps.

It's very possible to do but no developer is going to waste their time with it since there is almost no demand for a Xperia rom on the Desire. No one wants to lose multi touch and go back to 1.6.
Isn't Eclair also able to run the Scape Applications from SE?
So when Apps are extracted, ported to our resolution then it should be possible to run them on our stock roms as well, shouldnt it?!

If's it's as integrated as Sense is then probably not.
Yes but WinMo Developers are also porting drivers and stuff of the many different phones (LEO Drivers to X1, X2 drivers to X1, X1 Drivers to Blackstone, etc)... so whats the big deal here with android?
I've already been in a few discussions about this, but since then the situation has changed and this forum opened up.
The bluetooth for some applications on the Desire is weird. The WiiMote app for example, has a disclaimer that says "will not work on sense phones", where it works perfectly fine on every other Android device...
Now as far as I can tell from reading threads, the phone has been rooted and we now have access to the source code. So my question is has the situation improved?
If you use a rom which is non HTC sense it works fine, or do you mean will there be a fix for bluetooth with the HTC sense installed?

A fix with Sense installed. Which I'm guessing means rooting as it would involve hacking the UI.
Cyanogen Mod v6 has me interested though that should work with it yes?
So I was just wondering why hdmi us messed up on every rom except stock sense? I don't every use it & I'm not too upset by the lack of it. Is anybody working on a fix or does nobody care?

Are you on a sense rom? It may only be messed up on aosp roms. Almost every rom page I go to on xda will say "not working: 4G & HDMI"
It is only AOSP roms that it doesn't work. This is because the hdmi code isn't open source so it can't be incorporated into anything other sense based roms.

Yes I use sense, you are correct no HDMI in AOSP ROMs. Sorry if you said AOSP I didn't see that. Need to start reading all the words. I think once they iron out the 4G issues they may focus on HDMI. I think just getting 4G working was using up all their resources.
HDMI isn't in AOSP ROMs because HTC has not released the source code, and only one dev is working on reverse-engineering it. However, his biggest problem is that the EVO's GPU is a POS and overheats whenever he enables mirroring (showing on the TV everything that's on the phone's screen).

it's originally done by SNQ for Desire. And it was Modified by Jack_r1 for My touch 4G. here is a link to his thread.
Please use extreme caution and back up everything before you apply this mod.
For me it works on Ginger sense leak Rom rooted and untouched version posted by rmk.and it ideally should work on all other ginger sense roms based on that 2.30.405.1 rom.
and im just making a thead over here at Desire Z section as most ppl who really liked this feature dont know of its existence on gingerbread sense roms

This is (I think) the mod I used in TrollogenMODS. Back when people used it...
Although I had it before this thread was posted. But yes, it does work.
Check its installing OK, then reboot, make sure you ain't editing keys with ButtonRemapper or something, then say it doesn't work.

that must be true ... i found this mod after going bannanas searching for it ... than a very nice guy pointed me to it it was given a link deep inside a rom discussion thread . i just posted it outside as a separate thread so that its a bit more visible for ppl like me
