can someone link me? I searched and found nothing but the stock dg27 eclair. Im looking for the Dl18 tar and pit for Odin. The wiki only, links to the dg27 tar and pit. Google doesnt come up with anything too. I eventually did find the dl18 tar but not the pit. Will the dg27 pit work for the dl18 tar?
Link! Please. Thxs.
You don't need the put file if flashing the stock rom tar. Also.look on android development section for it.

That's what I figured since it flashed with the dg27 pit. Seems normal.
What does the pit file do? What does it contain?
Ok. Close this thread and send it to tge garbage bin. I did more research and looks lije there's only 2 pits and either will work.
The.pit is only used for.flashing modem and.kernels. that's it.

What all needs to be used to flash the EC05 tar file from Mammon in ODIN? What settings need to be checked? Do we need to put in the victory_8G pit file and the EC05 tar file? Any help with this would be great! Thanks in advance!
The only option checked should be auto reboot. Yes you do need to use the .pit file, and the modem.tar file should go in the phone slot. Good luck. Im using it, its working fine.

OK so do this and there will be no data loss (I know, backup always) then flash the new ROM over the old right?
Don't know what is going on in the DEV section. Seems to be a war or something. And Bonsai thread keeps getting closed.

Yup, I did a nand backup and flashed the EC05 modem through ODIN and it rebooted back into the VIPERrom 5.0 and everything worked alright. I wiped 3X and installed Bonsai 4.0. Works fine.

Cool. Thanks. I assume I can flash Bonsai 4 right over 3.0.1 since they have been including the wipes in the flash. Can't ask anyone since their thread keeps getting locked.

Thanks, I only wanted the modem for now and never used odin. I always felt odin was a last resort if cwm ever failed to restore a nandroid, still never wanted to use it. Anyhow I still screwed up by putting the tar file under pda instead of phone, but thankfully it didn't matter....as I wipe the sweat beads off my forehead. :-D
If you flash a tar file it goes under PDA. .bin goes in phone. You did it right.

Hey guys,
So, I ran EH06, and liked it, but I prefer EC05 (more stable). I tried to Odin back, followed the instructions, but for some strange reason the phone is stuck on Gingerbread. Any suggestions/explanations?..
What are the errors/where does Odin stop, what are you trying to flash, what file name?

No errors. Everything's cool when I Odin, everything says "successful", everything goes according to plan. And when the phone reboots, I get back to stock, but still on Gingerbread with the EH06 modem.

Just trying to go back to stock EC05 (planning to go to viperrom AFTER going back to stock). I used the files provided by qbking to do so, and it worked once before. But that was when I was on EG22. EH06 seems different...

You must have flashed a tar that did not have the EC05 modem in it. You could get the stock tar here:

That's a little freaky. Go to the 2nd post of that thread and use Heimdall and you can just do the modem.bin from the EC05 tar or anywhere else you can get it from.

Wait -- I just wanna be sure I got this right. I've been doing this for a few months now, so I THINK I sorta know what I'm doing, but I just wanna check to be sure.
So right now, I've got a firmware version of 2.3.4, a baseband version of EH06, and a build number of GINGERBREA.EH06. I CAN change the baseband to EB13, but when I do that the firmware and build number do not change.
Just to be sure, is there something I might have forgotten? I followed the directions, but I just wanna be sure.
And you didn't think to nand backup before going to eh06? Tsk tsk tsk.

See, that's the funny part: I DID make nand backup. And I tried to restore but it wouldn't let me. It kept saying "aborted".

....What's that?
Nand backup in CWM creates an MD5 checksum. If it was in any way corrupt,or incomplete, you could experience a succesful restore with issues. Or an unsucessful restore all-together.
.....So does this mea there's no hope for me then?
Not quite, if someone was willing to share their nand backup with you, you could always put that inside the clockworkmod folder found on your sd card and try that.

Then you are only Odining the modem which is the baseband. If you restore a nand backup from 3.1.0.1 it will put your kernel and ROM back on. If you want to be on EB13 or EC05 then you will need to flash a ROM for that or after Odining a stock tar and rooting do only Restore Advanced Data from a nand.
Also if you are getting MD5 mismatches there is a thread for trying to repair those.

I see. Except that now after Odining my nand backups are all gone for som reason....
Would anyone happen to have a nand backup they wanna share?
Just like the title says, I'm curious if a PIT file is required to ODIN in a new modem. I ask because I accidentally did just that (stupid I know, but I'm not expecting points for thoroughness on this one)... At this point it seems like everything is working ok, but I'm not sure if I should go back and re-odin the new modem with a PIT file in place.
Thanks for any advice
Pit is not needed for modem upgrade

This^^^^^^^ everyone who uses this tar gets the prompt to update so it should still work.
Otherwise the update zip is linked with qbking's video here:

Yes, go to the development thread. Both EK02 and EL29 were officially released so both are full modems you can flash through either odin or cwm.

To be more accurate, both were "unofficially" released, so we have the full modems which can be flashed in odin or cwm. When they are "officially" released as OTA updates, we usually only get the patch modems, which won't work in ODIN.
There are links to all the modems (flashable in CWM) in my signature. You need to have a kernel EK02 or newer to flash full modems in CWM else it will hang. If you need an ODIN flashable modem, they are in the 2nd post of each of the respective ODIN links in my signature.
So I should just find a tar and pit for one of those and flash that through odin ? I heard that with eg31 you are unable to change it by flashing through odin and that an ota update was the, only way to really get it off

If you look at the 2nd post of all the ODIN links in my signature, it will have a link for the ODIN download and the individual tar files for modem, kernel, and ROM. In your case, if you just want the modem, just download the modem. The way I set it up, you ALWAYS use the PDA button for all the downloads. Don't use any other button in ODIN.
What you are reading with EG31 is old information. When EG31 first came out, we didn't have any FULL modems from Samsung/Sprint, so that's why once you had EG31, you couldn't go to any other version, not because you were prevented from doing so, but rather we didn't have any other modems available to flash in ODIN.
Now that we have all the modems, you can go to any modem you want in ODIN. In CWM you can do it also as long as your kernel is EK02 or newer.
Thank you very much that made my day
