without using the command line, isn't it visible somewhere in the device?
By CID, do you mean Card ID or Carrier ID?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I mean this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10007960&postcount=206
Thats the Carrier ID, if you boot into bootloader. Go to the system info option, its just below the imei

Or if you do not have ENG S-OFF, you can find out the stock CID using terminal emulator (get from market). Type "getprop ro.cid".

I have a problem on the unrotting evrrything went fine but after the flash of the PC10IMG.zip file i still have s-off what is the problem..
*ps when i try to enter in cmd
adb shell it shows me the $
and su still $
when i try to open the pc10img.zip file on the pc it says corrupt or invalid any help plz
you have to re-run gfree to get s-on.
The $ shows you don't have root access, which is to be expected having flashed a stock rom.
su should've returned permission denied, again stock rom.
Invalid zip is windows explorer not being able to handle signed zips. Use 7zip

I would say that in order to downgrade your ROM you have to root your phone. Rooting is pretty simple, just unlock your bootloader via htcdev and follow one of the guides onthis forum.

I tryed all methods and always got errors.. I guess we will have to wait until htcdev push 2.13.401.3 ruu version..

I checked the htcdev's site and there is 2.13.401.3 ruu for HTC EU. I'm not rooted and have this software version. Can I unlock my bootloader and root it with this RUU?
Yes, today I tried, and all working.
Very good news then. I will try this weekend to root my phone
I get an error when type: fastboot oem get_identifier_token
It says: 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file..
What should I do??
EDIT: Never mind, unlocked it
HTC Dev have the 2.13.401.3 ROM but 1 question: Is unlocking bootloader making your phone s-off???

I went to unlock my bootloader on htc dev but got stuck on step 7- it says that it is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. i saved the folder on my desktop and typed in c:\Android? HELP!
Not sure if this helps any of you guys here, but I used this to S-off and root my VM Wildfire S. I had the same problem: my version wasn't on HTC Dev website.

What is not recognized?? If it is fastboot.exe you can find it in C:\android-sdk-windows\tools.
I dont know about fastboot but it says to type in where you saved that folder which has those 3 files in so i saved it on my desktop and typed in c:\Android but it wasnt recognised???
Its this step that is not recognized-
Step 7
Navigate to where you unzipped the ZIP file and go to the folder you just created (For Example: If you created the folder in C:\Android, then you would type in Command Prompt: cd c:\Android).

You can not get s-off through the official HTC unlocked bootloader. Skip all of this and go to the xda wiki, follow instructions on how to downgrade and root there

Yup, but why on htcdev.com we can... ? It's official trick to get off security...
Well it isn't, all it does is allow minimal security flags to be removed, enough to open up a few fastboot commands. It can allow you to flash a custom ROM but it will not give you s-off and it will give more headaches then anything else

Wrong. He can buy an unlock Code. It Is easy And not expensive at all. Even he can ask To his carrier for it.
Well, that's true. But as he is asking here, we can assume he does not want that option (eventhough it´s the best option)
Wasn't there a Windows program, called Ace Multi Tools? (something along those lines) that did SIM Unlocks and Super CIDs, along with S-OFF (but with a downgrade)

Do you mean the Advanced Ace Hack Kit? If so, it has been retired.
Can anyone help, I cant seem to modify my Hboot splash screen....I am already S-OFF...and my phone is a rooted Australian vodafone. (CID-VODAP021). I have tried using the mod guide by downloading the international version...but I guess it must not be compatible with my hboot. Is there a work around??? Thanks.

Maybe ask the developer to create one for you, he'll need these though:
1) Your HBoot
Code:
adb shell
su (if you need to to get a #)
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p11
Your MID, CID and OS Version you're running.
Code:
[B]CID:[/B]
fastboot getvar cid
[B]MID:[/B]
fastboot getvar mid
[B]OS Version:[/B]
fastboot getvar version-main
[B]Or if you're lazy and want to drop everything at once:[/B]
fastboot getvar all
Finally fixed the issue.....Silly me, should have thought about this earlier. With the S-OFF, I am able to change my CID into Super CID (11111111) then it work just fine... :good: Thanks guys ...
