I have a problem on the unrotting evrrything went fine but after the flash of the PC10IMG.zip file i still have s-off what is the problem..
*ps when i try to enter in cmd
adb shell it shows me the $
and su still $
when i try to open the pc10img.zip file on the pc it says corrupt or invalid any help plz

you have to re-run gfree to get s-on.
The $ shows you don't have root access, which is to be expected having flashed a stock rom.
su should've returned permission denied, again stock rom.
Invalid zip is windows explorer not being able to handle signed zips. Use 7zip

Look im not trying to be mean but searching is usually your best bet. I am willing to bet your answer can be found in the first 4 pages of this forum. Try searching ENG Bootloader .

I believe the unrevoked forever does that for you but you have to select it.
from www.unrevoked.com
unrevoked forever is a tool to set your Android phone's security level to S-OFF. The security level is a flag stored on the radio; when the flag is S-OFF, the bootloader (HBOOT) will no longer check the signatures of firmware images before flashing them. This allows custom firmware images to be uploaded, including unsigned boot, recovery, splash1, and hboot images (as well as official images that have been modified). When the system is S-OFF, the NAND flash memory protection is also reduced; this allows all partitions (including /system) to be written to while the operating system is booted.
Great response REM

What are you trying to do, could you be more specific? Unrevoked gives you unlocked nand, so i'm not sure what problem your running into?
I used unrevoked..tried to install cyanogen n I get a error message
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
are you sure unrevoked worked, sometimes you have to do it a couple times....do you have superuser permissions? I would make sure unrevoked is correctly installed...also redownload your rom and make sure the download is completed successfully, i never dl to phone, always to pc...
I have superuser..I used unrevoked
should I use unrevoked forever

Boot the phone into bootloader and you should see S-ON or S-OFF. If you see S-OFF you have nand unlocked.

Yes, that is what I said earlier a couple posts up.
Ya can't flash cm6 directly from unrevoked you need eng boot and amon recovery to flash it. You are most likely nand unlocked but trying to flash through clockwork. Easy fix is download Rom manager from marketplace then choose change recovery or whatever it says. I haven't looked at it for aong time then choose amon ra recovery. Then do another nand backup because clockwork and amon don't really work together. Then you should be able to flash cm6 no problem. Though having already done this I would personally suggest vaelpak over cm6 its almost all aosp and everything on your phone will still be functional. Plus its just as snappy as cm6 and I seem to get a far greater battery life with it.

clockwork is just fine....go to that guide i gave you, downlaod the pc36img.zip image and follow those instruction, it will give you eng boot........and then clash vaelpak rom...or cm6
just follow that link to that guide, scroll to the bottom and follow...its easy as pie...
When I get home ill give it a try..thank u

Brick Rate

Does the downgrading on a G2 using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912 have any chances of bricks on theG2
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Looking over it briefly here: following the instructions to the letter should not result in any kind of brick.
Just follow the instructions, you'll be alright!
There is no brick chance using this guide.
You are only writing a 10 character string to partition17, which just tells the phone you have a low build/software number.
It then uses the built in HTC system, to flash an official HTC rom.
as above, the dd command just reads, it does not write.
all the important partitions on the phone are still write-protected, so nothing bad can happen while you are temp-rooted

Just be careful around "dd" command. If given wrong args, in may brick or semi-brick your phone.

im stuck cmd wat do i do first i just want to downgrade my firmware 2.3.4 i dont care about the backup i dont have important files on the phone
That's fine a backup isn't needed, if you are getting the "version is older" or whatever then the gold card you were making isn't working. I assume you have adb and fastboot set up properly (it works for you correct?) And your SD is formatted to fat32 with room on it?
If you copy and paste the input / output from cmd here I can see where you are going wrong.

do i skip the Gaining Temp Root and the Changing Version Number yes the adb and fast boot is working fine and my sd is a 32gb and fat32 so wat do i do next also do i have to put my htc g2 on debug or just usb mode can u list the cmd which one is the right way
need to have phone in debugging mode (only way to get adb to work) and follow THIS GUIDE the one you linked earlier,
start at the beginning and dont skip a thing until you get to "I-3 temp-root backup" only skip this part.
if you have troubles copy and paste the input / output from cmd here, thats the only way i can see an error

trying to finish the rooting process and get s-off

using this wonderful guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771755
I got to here:Step 38. Your phone should now say “LOCKED (OOW)”. And should check for the PC36IMG.zip file. If it doesn’t (which happened to me), try using another micro-SD card or format your micro-SD card and repeat from Step 36.
As soon as the bootloader searches for pc36img.zip the bootloader freezes, (i let it sit for a half hour just to be sure) I did try google and the search on the forums. (maybe I word things poorly with searches as I can never find what im looking for, I'm sure I'm not the only person to have this issue) if someone has the link to the thread of this problem i would be grateful and happy to read it. If i am the first to experience this problem help would be appreciated.
This guide is rather helpful:
http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...-18-HBOOT-with-HTCDev-com-No-More-Watermark!-)
Look through it and make sure that you went through all the steps correctly. Also, you might want to try and download the file again. Make sure that you don't have an extra .zip extension on the PC36IMG file name, and that the file itself is on the root of your SD card.
I've used the guide in the link above to root and S-off several EVO's and I've never encountered the issue you're reporting.

The Htcdev bootloader unlock is Hboot dependent, and you should try a stock gingerbread Rom for the S-OFF to work. I received that same error before on a AOSP Rom.

RomRunner is to S-Off your device. You're already S-Off'd so you don't need it anymore. Don't run it.
Just flash SuperSU or SuperUser.

How? I can't seem to make it happen without a custom recovery or superuser permission

Woo hoo I was able to get root back using squabbis (spelling?) HTC one toolkit , first I flashed the superuser apk with his utility with success but still didn't have su permissions so I tried to flash a custom recovery without luck I was able to push my previous recovery file with the toolkit with success, now we can eat!
