Hdmi video only audio out headphones..projector - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using full hdmi out and love it but can't use it on my projector bc the projector does not have speakers. I was thinking I could just plug in portable speakers in the audio aux but doesn't work bc hdmi is trying to play sound through the projector. Any ideas? Thanks

Video out through 3.5mm jack on epic?

I know samsung cripled their cdma devices on this but is there. Hack or app or something that would allow us t send video out through 3.5mm jack to be converted by the proper cableinto rca out? "Red white yellow"
I know we can do hdmi through micro usb but tha cable costs a small fortune, and the 3.5mm to rca only costs 1 dollar on average.

It was being work on but the guy stopped. So at the moment no there isn't a hack/app for that feature

Not only is there no video out via 3.5mm jack, there is no video out via HDMI cable either
Only video out at this time is via DLNA, AFAIK
It has been a long time requested project, but has not made it into any sort of working/testable phase yet, at least for the public

[Q] t mobile|s II|2.3.6|TV Out ROM

I need some pointers for a good ROM/kernel which supports TV out for this device.
I am aware of the various uPnp and transcoding apps over wifi which not all the time stream lossless quality. Please suggest me a tested ROM or point me to a thread which lists a good ROM with TV out capabilities for gingerbread 2.3.6.
Appreciate your help.

You will still need a mhl adaptor and micro hdmi to hdmi cable.

Yeah, that's the only bad part about this. If you don't have a tv that streams, you have to buy the adapter which ain't cheap.
That's about the only thing I liked on my G2X, that it had a hdmi port.
Powered by the SGSII....
It can stream through my xbox or ps3 but you need a 3rd party app. I dont really care for DLNA its a great concept but its really choppy when trying to stream a movie from your phone..music and pictures are great tho...

Darkside was my last hope and it has not failed me. I have been using this ROM starting 2.2a version. TV out definitely works.
Im using the Mx Video player which has capabilities to show subtitles out of the mkvs (most other players dont) which are not attached to the video. Both of these are a good combination. Do you guys know any other better player?
The audio however is a bit downscaled and the 720p is a bit pixelish. (you can see the bigger pixels if you get closer). Both stock player and mxvideo player did this. so im thinking it could be a phone limitation.
Still Darkside was the only ROM I saw for now which has been running stable for TV Outs..
And btw, Darkside just released Darkside 2.4 .http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473077
Flashing again woo hoo.

Is this tv out with the headphone jack using a rca cable (yellow, red, and white output)? Can the t989 output video and audio to a tv using such a rca cable through the headphone jack?

MLH Adapter Audio Out

OK I just got my MLH adapter and everything works fine but the sound. I have no sound at all =/ because im outputting to a monitor that has no speakers I use external speakers. I tried plugging my headphones in my phone to see if I'd get sound but I can't is there any work around @ all?

oh that dosen't sound good
Sorry for the bad pun, but could not help myself. Your problem is that hdmi outputs video and sound through one connection or is bundled together. The phone probably will not output sound from the head phone jack, but good thinking. Maybe someone with more experience with the OS will have the know-how to rig it to work with your set-up. Well I hope you the best in your connection mishap. Jahman

CM9 MHL Audio Output Change

Hello. I am using CM9 on my T989.
I have an MHL adapter that is working perfectly to output video and sound to my TV.
However, I would really like to have audio be outputted from the headphone jack, which it does not do. I have connected, reconnected, looked everywhere in settings and there's no where to change the output in Android.
From what I've read some ROMs do this for some reason while others do not, which leads me to believe that there's simply a piece of code that can be edited somewhere to push audio to the headphone jack if connected instead of over HDMI. Does anyone have a clue where that code might be? Alternatively, does anyone know of a ROM that does this on its own?
Are you only looking for a software solution?

Ideally. My TV does not have analog outputs and my audio setup does not have digital inputs.
I know there are audio adapters, but this is far from ideal, especially considering that my TV does not have selectable PCM/DTS out, meaning I would have to buy a $65 output for the TV passthrough (one that handles both PCM and Dolby streams).

Dark Side v8 can output audio from s2 headphone jack, I have a monitor without speakers, and I have to use the headphone jack to amplify the volume when I use a mhl adapter for videos and games.

I can use the headphone jack but its not a clean source.. like a line out.
I have audiophile headphones and want to connect the incredible to my fiio e17 portable dac/headphone amplifier... the best sound comes from a line out from the usb that will get amped from my dac/amp... then get sent to my headphones. Since i have my incredible sitting around.
a couple of companys make high end mp3/amplified portable players.. the Vamp from vmoda is a portable amp that allows an iphone 4 to doc in it is $600 so thats $600 plus an iphone 4.. Ibasso makes a high end android player with a awesome amp... is $800.. Hifiman makes an awesome portable mp3 player that can drive some pretty hard to drive headphones is $600..
So if i can use a clean line out audio signal from my free incredible and connect it to the line in from my pretty good Fiio dac/amp then i have a pretty darn inexpensive solution to my sensitive/subjective ears.
sorry to get too detailed.. but i am a audiophile with a severely limited budget.
Well, I did not know that. I would think the closest thing you will find is the video output cables to do this job. If memory serves, it is the standard left and right audio channels, and video. Of course you would need another cable to convert to 3.5mm jack, which is not a very clean or good looking method.
