how much does the kernel have to do with the camera quality?

depends on the kernel. some kernels make it unusable while others can downgrade the quality.
So I love snap 7.6 cfs and sometimes I have problems but why did it just all the sudden discontinue? Or am I missing out on some website or something because this kernal is fast and has great battery life.

Ok so I really love the MIUI ROM but I don't wanna run it with the SBC kernel it comes with. Anybody have any non-SBC kernels that they'd reccommend using?

I personally use the zen .5 sbc kernel...i would recommend using the savage 1.6-cfs-wimax kernel witch gets pretty good battery life and nice performance.

I'll have to upload it when I get home, currently at school.
with all the new gingersense stuff coming out is anyone working on a kernal that is OC's cause the kingdom rom kinda needs it
I'm sure people are working on it... as always when something comes out, the devs here grab it and do what they want with it.. seems like a pretty rhetorical question..

sense 3.0 is very nice. just a little slow for me. id really just like the lockscreen from 3.0 on a 2.0 rom

i totally agree but i have noticed even a little OC on some roms makes a ton of difference on their performance
You need source code to compile a custom kernel.

HTC will release source after gingersense becomes an OTA, but its up to them when they want to post it really.

so then we are going to be stuck with crappy battery life for a while then and slow sense 3.0 ports... NICE

Just be grateful you even have a gingersense 3.0 port to play with. Download Juice Defender if you're really that worried.
I don't think 3.0 needs overclock works fine for me very snappy if u have the patience to let it fully load

I'm not sure what a KERNAL is. Sounds similar to a kernel Kidding . But kernels will be released over time. You don't necessarily need the source for a kernel, because you can look back to the OG Droid's FroYo leaks had hacked together kernels without any source and it was being overclocked.

haha ik i kinda fail at spelling... and i am REALLY happy with the Gingersense 3.0 but i do kinda need battery life also and have found juice defender hasn't done that much

It's probably possible to overclock with a module, like what the Droid X/2 are using. I'm no kernel hacker though, just a lowly porter
There is a tradeoff, however. If you want OC, the battery life will suffer even more than stock.
Best bet is to use SetCPU to set some profiles.
Great conversation but this thread is in the way wrong category. I really wish I was a mod...

No harm intended. Your op just came of as a question which should be in the questions section. Like I said, great topic though.

But still a question. Read the link posted on the first page, and the stickies at the top of this forum.
Is there any stable CM10 roms? I was holding my breath on aero's but i'm too impatient.

You really need to define stable. And read other threads. I've been using Aero's as a daily driver for a long time. It's also been asked and discussed many many times.

Data working, mms, phone, minimal crashes, camera pretty much the basic things .
Last time I tested aero's rom it had some issues, but that was a very early build. I haven't tested recently.

Depending on what you want in the camera, the rom meets all of your requirements. Quite stable and very snappy.

Not everyone...
They are quite scrumptious.
I guess I could have clarified that Aero's newer builds can be found at:

He hasn't updated the OP for a while even though he has updated the rom.
