Is this new Market????

Was wondering if this is what the new Market looks like. When I first got my Epic the Market was the same but once I rooted and installed Froyo it looked like this. Weird thing is the shots are taken from my rooted Evo running Myn's RLS 4. Up until last night I had his themed Market but I wake up this morning & the Market looks like this. Everything else looks the same. Can your Market just randomly just update itself because that is what seems like happened to me.

No, that is actually the OLD market. You phone has somehow retrograded itself to the market from 3 years ago. Weird.

WOW! The OLD Market???? This just gets stranger by the second! How the heck did I get the old Market? Haven't flashed anything since the release of Myn's 4. You say old but its kind of new to me. I didnt hope on the Android bandwagon until the Hero and I've never seen this one. I actually think it looks better than the current one. Any ideas of how this happened & how I can get back to the new Market or at least Myn's themed one. I'm assuming a wipe & fresh install are my only options. Still got me bugged out to as how & why my phone downgraded itself, especially seeing as how the Evo never had this Market to my knowledge.

When I first saw this yesterday I wasn't sure what to make of it. I mean, really? Looks like some sort of match made in hell between Microsoft Xbox and nVidia...

And what would that have told me? Got more important things to do then memorize the version number of every app that is on my phone. Version 2.2.7 could be 200.2.7 for all I really care. I saw that it looked different overnight & don't remember updating anything so that was why I asked. A simple yes,
no or ignore & kick rocks was all that was needed.

generally when a big change is made to an app or rom the highest digit changes. IE 2.7-3.0.

If it gets locked that's fine. I have posted this question in q/a and either no one can answer or haven't read it. I have researched. Posted. Questioned. Now expanding to try to lock down an answer.

I use Facebook flow to do batch pic uploads. Its in the market. Once you log into the app and you go o to gallery and select multiple pics you then select facebook floe to upload them. As far as the pics rotating on you yeah it is annoying. I just take all my pics In landscape mode so they don't come out sideways.

Is it just me, or does this just seem more like a "HTC is better" spammer? Either way, Most major problems are solved by apps, such as the Facebook app mentioned above. Plus, no one seems bothered by the portrait/landscape extra step. So that is why no developer is wasting their time with it. The developers on here work hard to fix the short comings of stock phones (Such as seriously lacking battery life) Which, with my a new ROM and Kernel, I had over 20 hours of battery life today while TRYING to kill my battery. So I would say the developers are doing a splendid job, and you just come off ungrateful.

Simple answer: HTC added a feature. There's no bug in the others. HTC is tagging the photos to mark which ones are portrait, then displaying them rotated. The pictures, though, are actually still in landscape, just turned to the side as your phone is.

It does send them correctly - it sends the image file as it exists on the device.

I understand that part. Then do you know a file I could reconfigure using root explorer to modify?

Why not try some other mms apps in the market? While the devs here often help when they can, it its usually because many people want something changed, you are the only one who seems to need this purely cosmetic feature. On top of that, this site is for learning and developing. If no one wants to use their time to make you an app, their are plenty of resources for you to do it yourself. Or show a high need for the feature to entice the developers. At the moment you are the only one who cares.

Im sorry, Im new to the evo from the Epic. So are cm7 roms that are based on gingerbread rooted? Since virus rom is based on gb, will it not be rooted?

People who had rooted 2.2 can flash a rooted 2.3 Rom, but people who have an unrooted 2.3 from taking the its can't root yet.

While I agree with ur statement I also have to say that when u start a new thread and type in rooting 2.3.3 or something similar there are results of similar asked questions and from there you can read up instead of starting a whole new thread

I agree completely. And I think that people should be informed of the way things are ran around here. I just don't like people who feel the need to be downright obnoxious to people for making a mistake. The damage is done by that point, answer the question, and inform them that they should search from now on. It disgusts me that people get so high and mighty on forums.

Regardless of what question is asked.. Most likely the person asking didn't come in here to ruin someones day or make a similar question to someone else. They simply came here to ask a question or get some advice.. To actually take the time to post some idiotic insult is beyond moronic and basically just says you have nothing better to do with your time than troll forums and bash people for what you "obviously" already know.. This equates to one possible solution for everyone involved.. GET A LIFE!!!

To answer what someone else asked.
I dont think it is possible to do anything with a phone that has a OTA update if Gingerbread on it. I remember reading that it is not possible to undo that update. you simply must wait for the Root to come out, which should be soon.
These Devs are some of the smartest people on the planet, and should be working for HTC et al. They are most likely waiting for some code to be released, just like I am waiting for some coding to be released to I can get a new Kernel for my Synergy ROM.

Found the SGSII for .96 cents for an upgrade, what should I do to it?

Found the Samsung Epic 4g Touch for .96 cents at Sam's Club and I am going to pick it up tomorrow. I know I don't want the stock Sprint crap and I want Wimax tethering. What do you think will be the best rom to do this with? I understand I will be getting opinions only.

Welcome. There is no best ROM, its a matter of personal preference. You're going to get flamed and this thread will probably get locked. Better luck next time... spend time reading before flashing, it is possible to brick

I have been reading and this is for opinions only, I know every rom is different that is why I asked for opinions to figure which fits me better. This was the first phone forum that actually had a q&a area so I thought that was what it was for. My bad if I screwed up.

You should just buy my device for 170$

Your question is one of your taste and your taste only. Go read the OPs of the Rom's and decide for yourself.
All you're asking for is fans of this rom, that rom, this build, that build to weigh in. So, what's the point?

Instead of asking everyone to do the work for you, read through the numerous posts on the different roms available and decide for yourself.

Shame on you for assuming everyone doesn't read first, I have been perusing the Epic 4g touch for the last 2 weeks but I still like other users opinions. I mean the internet is for acquiring knowledge and learning in different ways, no it wasn't made for porn and cat pictures. When I buy something off the internet I read all the reviews by individuals I can to make sure the item is OK, these reviews are their opinions, and I ask for opinions as well. I mean seriously I know every single one of you guys probably do the same thing. No one buys blindly so yes I will always ask for other people opinions. It is the only way I found out using CM7.2 on my current LG Optimus S is what I was looking for. If you all want to be rude and not answer that is your choice but I will always ask.

I only said Nazi mod because of the way you guys were talking about him, I personally don't know him yet. I want people to weigh in on what they like about a rom, yes, so I can decide if that feature is something that would work for me. I am sorry to say that a person who created a rom is going to say everything they can to praise their rom, I know i would, so I don't go buy it alone. Especially if it will be my daily driver, i would rather not have to try a rom out everyday. Yes, I read what other people say as well but the only people who usually talk in a rom thread are the people who like it, not everyone will say what they don't like about it.

I think what most were thinking is that there are plenty of threads with people asking the same question in this forum... They just wanted you to look instead of opening a new thread. I wouldn't flame someone because depending on what you are using to view xda, sometimes you don't have all the options you do when on the internet and end up posting in wrong places... I would recommend trying out a whole bunch of different ones, there are plenty of stable ROMs out there man, its all about what fits you best, I couldn't tell you has many I flashed before I found the one I currently rock. Good luck and welcome to the SgSII world!
