The title is self-explanatory, I guess.
Right now the Defy (or is this an Android thing?) only allows for audio equalizer presets but there's no customization possible.
I wan't to know if it would be possible to locate where those presets are stored and modify them to suit our needs.
has someone any info on this question?

use for music the poweramp app. it's best for eq
Yep, or I could buy an mp3 player with equalizer ... but that was not what I asked.
Why is it that everytime you ask something on a forum people feel the need to answer something different...
Well... again... does anybody know something about what I asked, please?
Just decompile Audioeffectssettings.apk and edit xml´s inside that apk?
That´s all i can tell.
And for that I'd use the APKTool, right ?
(It goes without saying, I'm a n00b)

I have a Dash with the rickywatt's Rom on it and I want to do something, but I'm not sure how. What I want to do is be able to use .mp3 files for things like text message alerts, alarms, etc. Is this possible?
Additionally, is there any possible way to assign specific ringtones to people? I loved that feature in my older phones, but I can't seem to find it on the HTC Excalibur.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Contacts\Choose who you want\Edit\Custom Ringtone, they need to be on the phone memory
Great answers! Thank you so much!
Hey there guys, i didnt know where exactly to ask this so i just opened a new thread.
I recall in one of the roms, there was a cooked in app that allows us to cut and adjust music as we want to make it a ringtone. can anyone attach or link that app.Thx
I was looking around for a way to start playing audio when i insert a audiojack, and stopping it when i take out the jack. I use my phone to play music in the car but i dont want to go through selecting a song when i get in and stopping it and closing WMP when i get out of the car, so it would be handy if music starts playing any random song when i insert the audio jack and stops and closes WMP when i take it out. (Or even maybe theres another audioplayer that has that?)
Interesting concept. Would also be interested in this if any existing apps exist.
Slide2Play (S2P) does this AFAIK...

Yep, Slide2Play can do this when used with Slide 2 Unlock (there's settings under slide to unlock to activate this).

Not a big fan of S2U2 and would rather have this option in a simple fix or basic app allowing user to still use his/her choice of media player.
I'll have a look at Slide2Play later to see if this works without S2U2 installed as well.
If anyone is aware of alternatives, please feel free to post

I cant try this untill i get back to my computer after the weekend, let us know how it goes, i'm also not a fan of S2U2
You could also try g-profile. You can make a profile based on the audiojack and let it start your music player. And another profile closes the player when there is no audiojack.
Find this : AudioManager_HeadsetTool_Setup.

I installed it and played around with it untill i got it to open WMP.. now, is there a way of making WMP start playing when its opened?
Is there a command line switch that will tell it to play? If there is it will likely be the same as in the the desktop version.
hope someone can realize this...
i was suprised to see the ringtone size limitation(300kb) implemented on the newer androids. i didnt see any posts from the smarter folks on a work around or even trying to remove all together (like on froyo for example). is this only important to me? i understand how to recompress an mp3 file to achive required size or use 1 of the available market apps to accomplish the goal. i just thought it was nice to add any old song out of the library on a wim(i would change my wifes ring 2 or 3 times ina given day depending on how much she annoyed me)
guess im wondering if i bothers anyone else or if anyones working on a fix?

there are some (music) apps on the play store that can process ringtones.
I use PowerAmp (unfortunately it's a paid one) and use it to set ringtones. If you have GoSMS, that app also sets ringtones.....hopefully this one helps. If you are talking about "Assigning Tones" among contacts, it's quite challenging.
EDIT: oh...and just observed that .WAV files do good as tones...

Use Ringdroid - create your own ringtone from existing library songs, and cut them down to 30 seconds or less - if your phone rings longer, you get charged for the call

so its an carrier things not an andriod? its nice not to have to edit songs in ringdroid just add straight from your music dir. maybe if i load a rogers based rom....
Interesting that AT&T would do this but it makes good business sense.
Not many people know how to edit songs to make ring tones so rather then learn they will pay AT&T for there 2$+ ringtones.
Glad Rogers does not do that. I just find it's hard to find a good song that starts off relatively loud for a ringtone. This is why many people edit and grab the middle or the chorus of the song.
Hey guys, not a big problem here, but anyway: While setting audio profiles, when selecting quick answers it doesnt let me rename that profile. Accurate method lets me change the name, but I want to know if it is a chance to change the name from system files or any other way *my eyes hurt seeing Personal audio profile 100393 and not Mode 2*. Thanks in advance
I have Acoustix and v4a but I disabled them and nothing changed
