Whatsup with the Rom community..it seems really slow the past month or so..I haven't seen one Rom updated except for miui?? Sorry if this has been asked already.
Warm Z got released a week or two ago, and I think MikZ 1.0 just got released today. The new Sense 2.0 is nice, but it took a little while to grow on me.

Don't mean to sound like an arse, but I'm sure the developers have "real" jobs and develop ROMS and mods as a hobby. As flashoholics, our appetites are insatiable but there are plenty of ROMS (at least for the EVO) and tweaks to feed the beast until something new comes out. Speaking of new, mik released his z port today. Take it for a spin.
That's because there's already millions of roms that are pretty much the same (especially sense) just with diff tweaks. Devs beat the dead horse and we should see more once the new sense leaks or officially hits the deck for our evo. As aosp goes have fun with cm7 I'm a sense kind of guy.

Great point. My apologies to the OP if that's what you meant
Jesus Christ, slow? Erm, lesse,
CM7 just got WiMAX, and is about to get HDMI
Warm-Z was released
Honeycomb, Gingerbread, and Sense 2.0 ports are in the works
UltimateDroid is still UltimateKanging
The Development forum is the most active out of all the EVO forums
Not sure if OP is troll, or just incompetent...

First off i had hdmi(normal) and 4g when my evo released so thats nothing new. Its active but as far as SENSE goes all if not most 2.2 roms are still plagued w/ the same bugs. Most roms out there are the same just themed or diff tweaks. I agree it has been slow cause the same 2.2 base is all they have. When it comes to aosp, we all know Google/cyan takes care of biz and stays on top pushing out constant updates for their star children( nexus 1 and s). When a new sense rom pops up I'm like ehh another rom diff tweaks. The z beta builds are cool but lets see the real magic when sprint/HTC gives us 2.3 android/sense update.

As of right now, no.
I'm currently working on a port, which is taking a while because I've never attempted it before. All I need to do at this point is build the new boot.img and pray to jeebus it boots.
I'm hoping to be able to release it by the Thunderbolt launch date... But I'm not going to make any promises.
I'm a rom-whore, and I'm damn proud of it.

Actually, there would be a ton of benefits to a Thunderbolt rom... Namely the CDMA base of the rom, as opposed to the GSM nature of a Desire Z rom. This would fix phantom calls, and probably optimize battery life overall. I'm no porting expert, but with even these few subtle changes, it would impact much if the rom's functionality.

I just installed Stock Sense 2.0 after getting tired of bugs in MIUI, I love it so far. It seems really smooth and stable, way better than the stock ROM for Incredible. I don't understand why people think the original is faster, so many conflicting opinions!
The other Sense 2.0 ROMs look good but I always dislike other people's theming choices, currently using the slate HTC skin and I think it looks great.

REALLY exciting news!!! Hope the CM team picks up ICS in their nightlies quickly!
Cant wait to try the new interface/functions, some features should be similar to Sense roms.
Awesome!...now both the devs and the CM team can work on outing above perfect ROMs for our 'still very much alive; HD2!!!...its only a matter of time i guess. And with talk of a possible Siri port for Android, things are really looking up for the HD2...and dont forget that the full 576MB of RAM has not been unleasehd until now.If all the above is made possible, i think the HD2 will be relevant for at least one more year...

It depends, GB and ICS are quite a bit different than froyo was to GB. If I remember correctly it took a couple of weeks to a month after GB came out when we had a stable enough build to be considered daily.
Proper drivers are gonna determine how fast we get ICS developed on the HD2.
I can't decide which I'm more excited about: ICS itself, or the included Honeycomb source!
Either way, there is no other phone I would want to have right now!

Well, as I remember it, Gingerbread was released around the same time last year. And just before Christmas there were many different available roms that ran smoothly without a lot of issues.
So lets, hope this will hold true with the ICS release as well.

So I was scouring the Eris forums today and I remember how I loved all of tazz's roms and what he did for the Eris community. He was the first dev I was loyal too and after I left evil Eris I stayed on all tazz roms..
I flashed tazzfroyo, floyo, his sense roms, you name it I flashed it. He saved the Eris. He is one of the reasons we have mac and cs today.
And I just wanted to give him a shout out as my all time fav dev and his cm7 rom as my fav rom.
This being said our devs are great as are our roms. But how those roms changed that phone was something else..
So, who is your all time fav dev and what's your all time fav rom?
Let's make a hof for these great guys.

That's a tough question knipp. The first ROM I ever flashed (on the eris no doubt) was white widow v2. From there I flashed froshedyo. I was hooked from then on and I flashed GSB next. I stayed with workshed for a loooong time after that. He is one of my favorites still because he did such an amazing job with GSB. Condemnedsoul still is my all time favorite though. I flashed his ccm7 around the time the Google maps started to mess up and i always went back to his ROM on the eris. I actually got a dinc2 because he got one LOL. On this device I keep coming back to his ROMs. i try using other for a while but they just don't continue to be as stable over a long period of time. I can't stay away from sabotage sense.

Yeah with the Eris you were either with shed or tazz. I remember some major fights were both threatened to stop deving. I ran a shed rom once but I stayed with tazz. And now that we have mac and cs I expect to run most anything they put out. Aero is also high up there.

My all time favorite dev has to be ChevyNo1 from the og droid. He was never satisfied with "good enough," and was always improving something. His kernels were the most stable out of any I've ever run. He always addressed even the most insignificant problems, and never told someone that "that's just the way it is." I really miss him and his roms, I even strongly considered getting a droid x just so that I could follow him. He's the only dev I've ever felt compelled to donate to (though nitsuj is getting there).
Its tough for me as well. I've never really followed anyone and I never stay on a single rom for long. My first rooted was og Inc but all I really knew about was cymod I didn't even learn how to root on xda (YOUTUBE LOL) But just seeing how much progress has been made with ics I'd say touchpro or aeroevan. I know tp isn't with us anymore but those guys were pretty much asked to **** us an ics rom and beta6 is still a good less than RC ics rom. Nitsuj (JUSTIN LOLZ AGAIN) has also done tons for our device unfortunately I hate sense so I guess I can't really appreciate the work. Miui4 is getting better and better not to mention the mt4g port. I've ran condemneds senses briefly and they were amazing (still hate sense) Its awesome we have a group of seasoned devs who aren't dicks! All this being said I'm running cyanogen 7.2 RC1 lol
Amen to gsb!

Newt (Newtoroot). His MikRunny ROM (and its various incarnations) is just superb. I try everything, and always end up going back.
Nitsuj is also very creative and prolific, and appears to be juggling the most ROM's at the moment. He's also very quick to respond to questions.
So, I don't want to start any kind of "dev war", but for me, its a toss up between the two - and everyone is the winner!

I also (despite how much of a **** he can be sometimes) love Protekk's work. AOKP is amazing, and he's done a lot for us in that regard. All with the help of aero of course.
I could go on about a bunch more devs. I love most of them lol. I guess this post is more of a thanks to all of our devs here. Even if I don't use your stuff, I probably have tried it lol.

I agree, I've run his kernels ever since I got into the root access game on my OG Droid. I tried a few others, but nothing else ever came close in terms of performance, stability, and flexibility.
I also respect the Kondik and the CM team. I ran CM5 on my Droid for what seemed like forever (at least not until CM7 was already quite well-established.
And last (but not least), Koush. CWM and ROM Manager were my phone's best friends for a long time.

Cyanogen and Koush were so important. None of this would be happening. And before them, a kid called Jesusfreke made it all possible.
The best devs are the ones who are doing it for themselves.. and for fun. One of the best early on was a guy named Dwang. Rock solid.
Worst of all time, never to be forgotten was Kingklick. So bad, he is where the term "kang" came from.
I am enjoying Aerovan. Seems like he puts a lot of effort in it.
I would start with zachxtr. He did an awesome job with the xtrSense and xtrRom builds. Tweaking and making the Eris stock roms fast, how it SHOULD have been in the first place! After that I went to GSB by workshed. Stuck with that til I upgraded to the Inc 2. Now its GingerBangSense by nitsuj17.
Though you can't deny those like CS, jcase, tazz, and others I can't think of right now. Lotta great devs then and now with some of the senior devs still at it today!

I am not sure on a synergy release mainly due to the ICS releases coming out. There a lot of devs in our community so it could spark interest.

That is kind of what I was thinking was holding up some roms I am used to seeing I am running nitsujs TSM Sense M EXT4 5.0.1 with the 3.0 sense patch.
I am far from new to modding but I don't want to run right to the ICS builds just yet I want to explore all the Roms for the Dinc2. I also know I like MikMik Roms as well. Coming of the fascinate and DX2 CyanogenMod builds it's kind of fun to have more build and rom diversity to flash away like an addict haha.

Completely agree. I started with the nexus one. (More than enough Rom variations lol). To the Sony X10 with very few different rom choices. To the Inc2 where we have everything from stock to cm9 and sense 4.
Check out mikrunny, inchd 1.1 (mikmik), nits trinity (full sense 3.0), nits bullet mt4g port, and of course your aosp.
A lot of people run skyraider (teambamf) and mikrunny. Although like stated before the ICS builds are near fully functional.
