[Q] Which is the best thread and kernal for tmobile g2?

my current radio is 26.06.02.27_m
my current kernel is 2.6.32.21-cyanogenmod-evil
I'm not really having any problem with the kernel just curious if there is something better out there.
My main concern is the radio. I flashed the radio cause I had problems with losing signal at random times in places I usually had perfect coverage. So if there is a radio out now that is working best for t-mobile usa then I would really appreciate anyone helping me out.
*I meant to put radio in the threat title and not thread. Sorry for the mix up.
Well, what kernel you choose depends on what ROM you're currently using, while the radio is independent. So, which ROM are you using?
I'm using a stock rom right now, but have been kind of wanting to flash a gingerbread rom on the phone lately.
The best functionality vs battery life I have seen was using CM7 with perhoots gingerbread kernel. Of course, you're going to have to use profiles on SetCPU, but you can find several posts with good profiles.

Can using Custom Roms damage your health?

Have been wondering whether custom ROMs affect the SAR* value of a mobile phone. Using the stock rom, I never got headaches when making phone calls, but the custom roms I tried recently both give me headaches. Not sure if overclocking etc. affects the radiation given off by a mobile phone, but due to the lack of testing, are we inadvertently exposing ourselves to more radiation?
*SAR (specific absorption rate) is a measurement of how much electromagnetic radiation is absorbed by body tissue whilst using a mobile phone. The higher the SAR the more radiation is absorbed.
p.s. You can find out more about SAR values on: http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/sar.htm
I wouldn't think that the ROM would do anything, but the Radio might. Have you tried updating to the newest radio for the HTC Desire to see if that lessens your problem?

I thought the same thing after I initially updated the radio. I then decided to downgrade back to the one I had been using for months. There was no difference however.
I decided to restore the nand backup I made of the stock rom. Quite obscurely, I am no longer seeming to get the headaches. Going to flash a close to stock rom (need a2sd!). Hopefully I can use that with little issue. :S
Custom ROM affecting SAR value?
I was just considering installing a custom ROM on my sensation and was reading the blurb on the HTC dev website in preparation for unlocking the bootloader.
In it is suggests that SAR value "could" be affected. Has anyone else got any opinions or evidence to say that using custom ROMs can change the SAR value of the phone?
Thanks in advance.
I'd say that SAR value depends on the radio. Never heard of the ability to change it. And even if, it should still be low and not affect your health in any way. There are apps to measure the value, I don't know if they work, but you might give it a try.

The radios was what I thought but the HTC website got me paranoid. Thanks for the response,

Best Rom for Gaming/Battery Life?

I have AT&T I317 version, so i posted in wrong forum....cant delete so.....
Hello,
I was i wonder which custom rom would be the best for someone who uses the GN2 for HD quality games/emulators and also gives the best battery performance? I've read about a few like Redpill for example, but im still trying to determine which would be the best for me.
I would like to keep S pen functions.
Thanks.

Someone explain stock kernal please?

So I did some reading on aftermarket kernals. Seems the benefit of ktooncervative is it is conservative but also able to intelligently turn on core two?
If im correct then my question is what is the stock kernal most like? Ondemand? And does it also do scaling/turning on/off core 2?
Just curious I have had a few rooted/custom roms on different phones over the years but have been getting into the kernal side of things thanks to ktoonz.

Different In Stock ROMS?

Hi guys
I'm curious about something. Basically I was wondering if we are likely to see much variation between one ROM to another released in very short proximity of each other?
For instance, will the 5/2/13 ROM actually be different to the 30/1/13 one or are they just released at different times to different regions, but are infact exactly the same?
Thanks.
