I dial the #, press send and at same moment got kicked back to main main with error "call has been lost". Rooted EVO runing Calkulin ROM - this happened first time and never heard off such a thing. Anyone with same error ever ?
Are you actually dialing a number or pressing a contact to call? I had this happen before because I was using contacts clean-up and it formatted all my numbers to +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx and the + was the problem. Had to go in and erase the + from every contact.

Had this problem with my hero as well.
How do you take a number down if you are on a call?
ie if on a call asking for a number from the other person how do you write it down and use it for next call?
On nokias, the number you input stays after you hang up, so you can call, save etc.. But on Android, when you hang up the number you input disappears too!
AM i missing a way to do it (short of saving it to contacts (which i might not want to do), or dialling and hanging up)?
you can tap the number you enter which will dial the number you entered followed by immediately ending the call which will store it in your call history and return you to the original call all in about 2 secs. Not exactly elegant but works.
thats pretty much what i do, but its so silly to do it that way I thought ther MUST be a better way. I mean its not exactly a rare or unusual feature to need, is it? ;-)
I normally use a pen......Have done for a while now and it never fails
This applies to the stock dialer - don't know if it works like this on Sense.
Press Add Call, enter the digits. Now long-press the entered number. Select cut or copy. Then back button to cancel Add Call. After the call is over you can paste it back into the dialer the same way or into a contact.
Just tried, didnt work, no long press, any press just dials the number...
Now you've reminded me of another question:
The software usuuuaaaallly recognises number formats in emails or texts, and hyperlinks them to the dialer. HOWEVER Ive never been able to PASTE a number (copied from somehwere that the software didnt recognise as a number) into the sense dialer. Anyone can confirm this is not possible?
I'm unable to paste too on FroYo.

Ah, well it was worth a shot. I haven't spent more than a few minutes on a Sense phone so I'm not so well-acquainted with how the dialer works. I can confirm that the stock dialer of both Milestone's Eclair and N1's Froyo has an editable text field, in which one can long-press to get the "Edit Text" popup.
Can a Sense Android use an alternate dialer app?
there are thousands of notes apps thats what there for lol i think even htc has a notes widget for sence (i cant remember) neway yeah use your apps
There is an app which specifically does what you want. It's called Number Saver and it shows up in the notification bar whenever you make a call.
cool, will check it out!
Always weird that someone has to come up with an app for some function that should have been there to begin with, oh well!
Since the latest OTA update (2.29.405) last night, my phone dialler seems to have gone a bit strange.
Simply, if I bring up the dialler and select one of the shown contacts, the phone seems to dial a random person from my phone book and not the person who I am trying to call.
It doesn't do it every time but out of 9 calls morning, 4 have been to the wrong people.
Am I the only person seeing this?
The phone = Stock Desire unrooted.
Thanks
Try to delete all your call history (if you are dialing them from the history)
Maybe a simple reboot.
If that doesn't help, then manually reapplly the update.
When I use the Google Voice Search to say "Call xxxx" (xxxx = any search term/non-contact) the number that shows after the search has a +1 in front of it. When it tries to dial it would ring, then a Verizon message would say the number cannot be dialed. I was hoping flashing CM7 would take care of this, but now it just fails to dial without the Verizon message. It fails immediately after attempting to dial.
I've seen a few topics across the web about this, most of them have to do with the phone adding a country code in place of the number and failing. However, I can't find a working solution.
CM7 doesn't appear to have call settings that would help. Has anyone experienced this issue? Can you dial a number that begins with a +1 from inside the US? I've heard (don't want to test) that dialing other countries with the plus sign works. I've also read that it's a known issue with HTC, and they may be working on a fix.
It's not a major problem, but that's what I typically use voice search for is searching for an address or number quickly. It's kind of a pain to memorize the number and dial that way.
For what it's worth, the issue is gone after flashing MIUI. It may be that I wiped the dalvik cache before flashing this one.
I've received a voicemail (I have the reel-to-reel tape icon). If I do anything in an attempt to listen to the voicemail (including dialling 901 as suggested) then my phone attempts to make a call, which ends about one second later, then the display locks and I have to enter my PIN number again.
I'm happy just to turn Voicemail off, as it has stopped working, but I suspect this will involve dialling 901, and then I'm back to square 1.
Any suggestions, or do I just wait for the voicemail to expire?
I liked this phone for the first three weeks, but now, with the "Low memory" problem and now this, I've passed into the "hopefully someone will steal it" phase...
I suspect it that your wfs can't read the settings from the sim to find out the voicemail/anwser phone. Haven't tested it, will report back if I have a problem.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using the air.
That was it. GiffGaff uses 443 (GIF) instead of 901.
Their help said to enter *61*443# but that didn't seem to do anything. Voicemail still said 901.
So I went into the settings and changed the Voicemail number to 443. It still said 901.
So I rebooted the phone. Now it says 443 and Voicemail works.
I'm left wondering which of my two actions fixed the problem, and if it WASN'T *61*443# then I wonder what that did?
voicemail is in your service provider in sim, not included in phone only emails are compatible with wildfire s. just tell them to email you than this voicemail.
Hi there,
I installed CM11 (3-30 nightly) on SM-N900T with NB4 sotck ROM. I can no longer dial numbers or receive calls. I cannot find anything about this issue on the net.
The internet works, I can send and receive SMSs and 'you have voice mail' icon appears. It gets interesting when I dial a number. The moment I hit dial 'CALL ENDED' shows up and disappears a moment later. Few seconds after that (long after my phone already forgot all about dialing this number) the corresponding phone starts ringing. If picked there is nobody on the other side of course.
Any ideas?
Few CM11 ROMs in a row had the issue.
The nightly ROM from 4-5 fixed it.
