Froyo? - Defy General

I just got an update from t-moble, version 34.4.9, checked after it installed and now my android version is 2.2.1, am I dreaming?

Is that t-mobile usa? Sounds like good news.

I am not seeing any updates. Under System Updates, when I press it, it says "Check for update was not available right now. Try again later."
Is this where you found the update?

That's where I found it, settings - about phone - system updates.

Just checked, it is froyo

My girlfriend will be happy when I update her phone later. How is it running? Flash works?

Mine is running great, very smooth, Flash works great.

Happy to hear it for all of you guys. Now she wont have to use my phone to play the kongregate flash app.

Thats great news. Any idea if that update file is accessible on ur sd card

I've been unable to install the update. Error message is "Error in /cache/Blur_Version3.6.360.MB525.T-Mobile.en.US.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted." Hmmm...

Woohoo!!!! I've got it as well.

Can you get into debug mode?
Tks~
China got its official 2.2
U.S. got its official 2.2
When will Europe get official 2.2?

Just finished downloading. Doing a backup. After that I'll run and see how much carnage this thing causes. I've been playing with the unofficial one on my other phone so I'm psyched to see how this one plays out. I'll update once I'm done.

Attempt #1 = Failure. Guess it checks for all of the stock apk files. So I'm going to re-enable all of the bloatware and try again.
Update #2 After failing to update...now I no longer have the ability to update. Where is the update downloaded to?
Update #3 - Thankfully I have a backup with the update on it. Have made a little more progress. Now I'm only getting the Status 7 code....which means I need to unroot the phone. So thats the next step. They are not making this easy.

Upload an compability to EU Motodefy
Hi, could you please upload the file. So we can try to make it work on the EU Motorola Defys
Thx

Can someone upload the update.zip file please...

how do you get the update? system update doesn't work for me. it says " your device is up to date" but it is still in 2.1

Are you on ChiefzReloaded's OTA ROM or just SlideMeRoot?
Do NOT update if you are on either, but we need to talk if you're getting an OTA on Chiefz's OTA ROM (will probably be Froyo Espresso)

I want to say im on slidemeroot not 100% sure.hehe..flashed all of the froyo roms. But keep restoring back to a sense rom that i cant remember which it is. Oh and i have the overclock kernal flashed.

It seems like you're both on SlideMeRoot then, download ChiefzReloaded's OTA ROM and flash it and you'll be on the latest version of Espresso
I thought it might be that but wasnt sure and just wanted to make sure it wasnt FROYO.

I just had this update being pushed to my phone. I removed the battery just to make sure it didn't get applied. Does anyone else know if it auto-applies?
It could very well be Froyo since T-Mobile said mid/late August.
I'm going to take the risk and let it download, then pull the zip. (Since I'm one of the couple developers left in this community... someone has to do it )

Updates don't automatically apply, even if they are completely downloaded to /cache.
UPDATE: I don't think this is anything special. I think this was somehow triggered by people running the beta (improperly labeled by Eugene as "ENG") bootloader for our phones. Version says "1.26.531.1 CL174750 release-keys" and the dates in the archive seem to support the fact that it is from MAY, 2010. Looking into it further just to make sure.
EDIT: DO NOT APPLY THIS UPDATE!
EDIT2: This looks like an attempt by T-Mobile to fix root bugs in the older versions of phones running BETA ( < 1.35.x) bootloader. DO NOT APPLY THIS UPDATE.
My wife is getting notifications on hers. She is on eugenes Rom, slidemeroot I believe. I just wantto watch this thread so I know what to do here.

Working on that. Hopefully I'll have an update to counter this "soon". By "soon" I mean: when it's ready - since I'm currently at work that may not be for a while.
I just got that update and I felt like a dare devil and applied it..it rebooted into recovery then the cellphone image apeared and a green loading bar underneath it ..it loaded about halfway then stoped. A question mark appeared were the phone icon was then rebooted..nothing happened. My phone is still rooted and non of my setting changed. Just thought I would throw that info out there.

Flashing another ROM with built in OTA blocker should work or any ROM but you may get prompted repeatedly if it doesnt have OTAs blocked.

I got notified for the update after it automatically downloaded at 11:38AM CST. It downloaded into /cache/fumo/ as OTAPkg.zip, just like the last update.
I have uploaded the file here for whomever would like to take it apart.
I hit check new, and it downloaded it but then nothing happened and it didn't give me the option to apply it. Clicking check new now does nothing. Weird.

Samsung Note 4 Update to 5.1.1 or 6.0

I am seeing that different carrier in US have started to send out updates for Note 4(5.1.1). But at the same time I don`t see AT&T posting any news or update about the software update for Note 4. Are we getting 5.1.1 or just wait for 6.0?

Marshmallow on zenwatch 1

Did anyone receive Marshmallow update on zenwatch 1.
nothing at this time... probably next year depending on asus....
not yet, I'm confident there will be the update sooner or later....
I think Asus have just forgotten first Gen users, they're so slow at releasing updates
I asked on their official forum, and an Asus rep did say that they are working on the update for the 1st gen Zenwatch, which means we'll just have to wait.
Thanks for letting us know that...atleast its coming to us.

Thanks, the update is downloading while its charging....but again installation is failing in recovery......if anybody knows how to copy this update file through adb or some other means then i could post it here and see hw it performs
Extracting OTA link from watch, instructions as follows.
It will only work if you have not yet downloaded update.
First you will need to enable Developer Mode on your watch (Settings>About>Build Number)
Keep on tapping BUILD NUMBER it until says that you are now developer.
After that in Settings > Developer options > Enable ADB Debugging
And connect your watch to computer via usb and accept/agree. (Hope you have adb installed in your PC/MAC)
This only works if you have not updated already. After that follow this steps in below link.

I still haven't received Android M update. Should I update manually?

I didn't know ASUS released Android M for this phone. I went to their site to download USB drivers and I find out that android M has been out for quite some time now. With the latest update rolled out only last month. Happy to see this phone still active.
I just checked for updates from phone and it's saying I dont have any new updates. I am on Android 5.0
Does anyone else have the same problem, why OTA update is not working? Should I just update manually?
Im using Z100AD. Some guidance on how to do this would also be appreciated, would I have to use adb sideload?
Thanks
