Can someone explain this phantom call issue with the uber z rom?
What is it? Places outbound calls without your knowledge?
When does it happen?
Its random; inherent in all Z-based ROMs

Phantom is not actually the right word for it. What it actually is, is a dropped call. Not dropped in the sense of a completely dropped call. It drops for a couple of seconds and comes back. Very infrequent by the way.

This just started happening...I get missed calls from a 205-XXX-XXXX every time I reboot. Anyone else?
I get that from time to time on 1.0.1 but not all the time.
*shrug*
I'm running fresh 3,and I get no ghost call on reboot

Meh, I looked it up. 205 area code is from Alabama. I don't know anyone from there nor do business with anyone from there.
On some roms I get over half of my calls all garbled up. Usually on the other end. Someone is like "your phone sounds crazy! Call me back." It keeps happening until a reboot.
Any idea what causes this? Is it a kernel thing, a radio image thing?
Like I said, it only seems to happen with certain roms.
Thanks if you have any insight!!

I've had this once, and it sounded freaky to the other person. CM 7.
This has been happening to my room mate with her Desire Z on Bell. I have read about a few others having the same issue and even having their phones replaced 2 or 3 times and it still happens to them. I am in the process of trying to troubleshoot or at least narrow down the problem
I hope that any others having the issue can post here as well, hopefully we can narrow down what causes it and find a fix, it is driving my room mate nuts.
I have searched threads on XDA and could not find a solution specifically for my Epic 4G Touch. The problem I am having is I will just be sitting there and receive a voice mail. The phone did not ring previously and I check my call log and there is not a missed call. What I have found by researching is it has something to do with the phone when it is in deep sleep. I am rooted using Blu Kuban FE10 1.0.3.6 Rom. Also using Caulks FD26 Kernel with FF02 modem. I have tried several kernel and modem combinations. I do not believe it is Rom, Kernel, or modem related. What I have read it seems to be somewhere in the dialer waking the phone up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It's sprints sub par service...

We are on the same boat I have the same issue with not getting calls trough I hate to say it but its samsung for us. They are not taking care of all the bugs

I've seen a few reasons for this:
1) A ringtone specified for someone was not on the phone - this caused it to misbehave when I called my wife. She changed the ringtone and it fixed.
2) The tower couldn't reach the phone in time - now in my wife's case her old phone will still ring when her new phone does. I'm not sure if that's playing into the problem or not. But other times I've had both phones next to each other and you can tell when the tower reaches the phone as the ring changes abruptly.
ive been having same issue which is a big problem cause i use phone for work..
that's y I'm thinking of going back to htc phone never had an issue with htc or blackberry phones
The more and more I think about it. Your probably right. It must be a Samsung thing because I have 3 other phones on this contract and they are all HTC phones with no problems. The only thing is they are completely stock with no mods.
i have a htc tp2 on boost mobile which runs on sprint but more water down of a service but the reception for calls is 90% better than this phone
dont get me wrong love this phone just hate the reception issue.
Yeah you would think if Samsung is making phones at least the phone function would work properly.
I have been having the same problem forever with this phone. I have even had threads on here asking for help. I have gone as far as having sprint swap my phone out and that still did not help.
What I would recommend doing is using Google voice as your voicemail provider. Go to the options menu on the website and have it send you an email when you miss a call.
Google voice will always log the call even if your phone does not ring. For somebody like me who uses this phone for work, it definitely helps. You may miss the call but you will at least know that you missed the call and you can call them back.
It has saved me many times!
Are you running Kobridge's tweaks? I have noticed great battery life with his tweaks, but on my phone and the wife's we both are missing some calls when the phone goes into deep sleep. It may just be a coincidence. Not saying anything bad about the tweak.

I have had this issue on stock rom with no apps installed. It is definitely a phone thing!

That is the only thing that has stopped me from smashing this phone against a wall.

I believe that The Blu Kuban is running some kind of variation of Kobridge tweaks, but what I've read on that, the full version of Kobridge tweaks don't play nice with this rom.

I feel your pain
I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this but the stock diaker/call app is a buggy mess. There is absolutely no way to merge a call, there is no way to end a single call when you have two going. Even if someone calls why you're on a call, and they hang up, their name will still be on the screen until you hang up both calls. Does this happen to everyone?

Ending a call while on another call yes.... Sprint sucks for that as it ends both calls if you press end. I was hoping that the new vision network would fix that.
I am using find7s with the latest CM13 nightly.
Something strange that happens ever since I've moved to CM13, is that whenever I'm not using a wired headphone, voice calls are being dropped.
Anyone else has experienced it? Knows what to do?

No, but I face weak signals on Custom ROMs in few occasions.

Thanks for answering.
Signal is 100%. And I've been using custom roms forever.
It's definitely something new...
calls dropped - you're lucky! I just updated to cm13 nightly and it can't find my SIM card. Hmmmmm....
I've got the same trouble.
Sometimes around 3-4 minutes, my call is dropped, quite annoying, because people think you are hung up on them.
Hello,
Have you enable "End Call" by press power button on Button Actions settings ?
