[Q] Android 2.3 GPS not working

Please help, on android 2.3 like GingerVillain or caynogen RC2 my GPS isn´t working. But when I install any 2.2 ROM it´s working fine. I tried reinstalling, changing radios, kernels but nothing help Can someone help me ?? (Sorry for my bad english)

now on Amtethyst 1.0 it´s working very good, but with with some other ROM it isn´t ....

This is a know bug in some AOSP ROMs - however in some of them it should be fixed.

Using CM7 with GPS, nothing wrong with it....

Didn't work for me on an older radio but works fine with the latest. Try using faster fix and GPS status from the market.

[Q] Is there a GB ROM with working GPS

I ve tried one or Two Roms but they all seem to have Problems getting a GPS fix
just wondering if anyone uses GPS alot and knows of a working GB Rom

sygic aura 3.0 works great with LeDrOiD 3.0.5, at least for me.

Can you tell me how to push this file like it mentions in the post.
Have been having problems with GPS since CM7 stable, never had problems with it before.

Could be just the rom. I know that some roms don't work properly for everyone. Just keep trying roms and if they all fail, then check to see if your GPS is actually working properly.

GPS is fine on InsertCoin A2SD V29

Using Ginger Villain 2.3 in combination with radio 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 and HTC-Ril_2.2.1.1003G no problem with the GPS.
I had a problem with GPS freeze but tried some different radios and get a fix in 30 seconds....

I think ALL Gingerbread ROM has a working GPS..I've tried a lot of ROM and it always works.

Any experiences of this new radio yet?
Also is there a new RIL implemented or is it still the old HTC-RIL 2.2.0028HM?

I guess since it still is the 32.56 release the RIL you mentioned should work fine.

Radio works great for the last few days.
Today I flashed radio-RIL_2.2.1003G and so far so good.

My data plan does not work with ril 2.2.1003 went back to 2.2.0028 and data works fine

I can just say that for now battery life is excellent ...39h - on 61% with "normal" use. GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth and data works ok.
P.S. I'm on MIUI 1.5.6 rom

No poblem here ... I'm on RcMix S 1.4 .
There is no newer RIL coming from Desire , there are several from Desire HD and S , didn't tried them .

All looking good here, Telus Desire, Reflex S 1.9.9.9 Lite

So if I just installed the latest CM7 (7.0.3), will installing a later radio improve anything? I dunno what version comes with CM7 but the call quality is pretty crap, although I think thats just the area I live in.
My current radio version is 5.11.05.27.

I'm on 80% battery after 15 hours light use.
Got the fastest Speedtest result I've ever had. Seems to be functioning well.

instaled on lee 3.06 rc2 without any problem...
reception and GPS seem to be ok

Hi, is it necessary to flash the RIL too?

Weak Gps signal

I have leeDroid 3.2 (sense removed)
and leeDroid recommended radio
Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
I have a very weak gps signal , it is never able to get my location. However if i turn wifi on , it gives a better location , but with mobile data on it gives my location in some other neighbourhood.
I have replaced ntp server in gps.conf
Im from Pakistan.
I have also tried Gps Status app to reset AData
None of the above worked.
Any help ?

Hello,
You are suggested to test your GPS on other roms such as Revolution HD or an updated stock rom.
Test on a ROM which needs different radio version , as the radio is controlling hardware behavioure.

[Q] GPS problem MildWild CM-3.8

Hello!
I just got my desire and put the MildWild CM-3.8 on. Everything is ok but GPS is not working at all. I can turn it on but there is no GPS sign in task bar in any app that is using it (Igo, sportstracker, gps status, z-device test)...
What to do?

I installed 3.7 and then 3.8 over and now it is working....
EDIT: Not solved I went running with app sportstracker and after 10 min the phone restarted. And started app again and it restarted again after 2 minutes...So there is something wrong with GPS in this ROM....

I will go to another ROM. Does anybody know if there is the same problem with MildWild V-3.5 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 ?

I've had all latest Mildwild oxygen releases, and flashing the agps fix it all works.

I used fasterfix app on CM 3.7, and GPS works while running My Tracks and Runkeeper at the same time. Haven't tested CM 3.8 yet.

if your gps isn't working at all:
settings->location and security->gps source->use internal antenna
i know its preset on stock roms so many ppl dont think about it when using custom
happened to myself^^

I tryed out new MildWild V-3.6 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 + GPS fix + new kernel 2.6.35.14_r4. Went running with sportstracker + music from stock player and there was no problem... This is realy great rom . Thx MildWild !
