[Q] Android 2.3 GPS not working

Please help, on android 2.3 like GingerVillain or caynogen RC2 my GPS isn´t working. But when I install any 2.2 ROM it´s working fine. I tried reinstalling, changing radios, kernels but nothing help Can someone help me ?? (Sorry for my bad english)

now on Amtethyst 1.0 it´s working very good, but with with some other ROM it isn´t ....

This is a know bug in some AOSP ROMs - however in some of them it should be fixed.

Using CM7 with GPS, nothing wrong with it....

Didn't work for me on an older radio but works fine with the latest. Try using faster fix and GPS status from the market.

Any experiences of this new radio yet?
Also is there a new RIL implemented or is it still the old HTC-RIL 2.2.0028HM?

I guess since it still is the 32.56 release the RIL you mentioned should work fine.

Radio works great for the last few days.
Today I flashed radio-RIL_2.2.1003G and so far so good.

My data plan does not work with ril 2.2.1003 went back to 2.2.0028 and data works fine

I can just say that for now battery life is excellent ...39h - on 61% with "normal" use. GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth and data works ok.
P.S. I'm on MIUI 1.5.6 rom

No poblem here ... I'm on RcMix S 1.4 .
There is no newer RIL coming from Desire , there are several from Desire HD and S , didn't tried them .

All looking good here, Telus Desire, Reflex S 1.9.9.9 Lite

So if I just installed the latest CM7 (7.0.3), will installing a later radio improve anything? I dunno what version comes with CM7 but the call quality is pretty crap, although I think thats just the area I live in.
My current radio version is 5.11.05.27.

Flashed RIL_2.2.1003G with 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23.
I'm on 80% battery after 15 hours light use.
Got the fastest Speedtest result I've ever had. Seems to be functioning well.

instaled on lee 3.06 rc2 without any problem...
reception and GPS seem to be ok

Hi, is it necessary to flash the RIL too?

[Q] GPS problem MildWild CM-3.8

Hello!
I just got my desire and put the MildWild CM-3.8 on. Everything is ok but GPS is not working at all. I can turn it on but there is no GPS sign in task bar in any app that is using it (Igo, sportstracker, gps status, z-device test)...
What to do?

I installed 3.7 and then 3.8 over and now it is working....
EDIT: Not solved I went running with app sportstracker and after 10 min the phone restarted. And started app again and it restarted again after 2 minutes...So there is something wrong with GPS in this ROM....

I will go to another ROM. Does anybody know if there is the same problem with MildWild V-3.5 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 ?

I've had all latest Mildwild oxygen releases, and flashing the agps fix it all works.

I used fasterfix app on CM 3.7, and GPS works while running My Tracks and Runkeeper at the same time. Haven't tested CM 3.8 yet.

if your gps isn't working at all:
settings->location and security->gps source->use internal antenna
i know its preset on stock roms so many ppl dont think about it when using custom
happened to myself^^

I tryed out new MildWild V-3.6 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 + GPS fix + new kernel 2.6.35.14_r4. Went running with sportstracker + music from stock player and there was no problem... This is realy great rom . Thx MildWild !

wifi problem in mildwild cm and oxygen

I need help. I have been a long time sense user, last one was runny rom. I tried to install mildwild, everything works good but the wifi can't really scan for an access point. i tried mildwind cm 4.6 and 5.0 stable, also mildwild oxygen 4.3 and all the time i get the same. i tried the tiamat kernel and nothing. Now i have been back in runny rom and it works ok. Is there any solution? I have posted the catlog and i don't know if there is something.

ive been useing WildMild 5.0 for ages & 5.1 for a few days & my wifi has been great as i dont use roaming just the wifi or a hot spot, so i hope you can srot out your problem as ive found WildMild spot on

Long time listener, first time caller.
Over the last couple of months, I have tried virtually every ROM I can get my hands on for my DHD, and I always do a full wipe (format) of /system, /data, /cache, Dalvik, and .android_secure before install.
The only ICS ROM I can get working fully is Blackout, but it is Sense 3.6.
I have tried Viper, and *really* like it, but Bluetooth is broken (in 1.2.0, .1, .2, and .3)
That seems to be the case for me with Sense 4 ROMs (lite or full); if Bluetooth works, then WiFi is broken. If WiFi works, then Bluetooth is broken.

Same here, bluetooth is one of the few things that ALWAYS work (except for 4.2.1, but that's expected).
Are you wipping between flashes ?

As I outlined above, yes, I am fully wiping b/t ROM installs - even restores - please see my method in first post.
I am using ClockworkMod Recovery (HBoot for booting) and have paid for ROM Manager, which entitles me to further updates to CWM than what is available on Play. I currently have 5.8.1.5 installed (CWM Touch).
The radio varies from ROM to ROM it seems, and I should have documented which version in each ROM, but right now, in Blackout, it is reporting 12.56.60.25P_26.10.04.03_M. <--- That number stays consistent, afaik, but the first letter will change (U and T, iirc).
When I say that Bluetooth doesnt work, specifically what happens is that it either doesnt pair with any device, or if it does pair, no sound will be transmitted or the pairing will only last for a second, maybe two seconds at most.

The radio shouldn't be changing with each ROM unless you change it. But with that said, nothing seems out of the ordinary. You could try reflashing your radio manually? Other than that I'm out of ideas.

I dont know much about that, but with that said, I just re-flashed Viper 1.2.3 and my radio now reads:
12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M, which is different than it was above with Blackout.
I have not tried re-flashing my radio manually. I wouldnt know which one would give me a better chance of success...

Once I flash a new ROM, the kernel and the radio are the same I had or the new ROM comes with its own kernel and radio?

roms do not come with radios tho they do have their own kernels. Radios are region based not rom based so there is no rom specific radio just what works best in your area.

Thanks for the explanation. So, if I bought my mobile in Spain, the radio is different if I had bought, for example in France?

depends on how close they are to each other whether same service is used in Spain as in France or if they are totally two different service. I would Google the carrier you use then see what radio they shipped with. Even in the radio thread you may find an answer to which radio is good for you in the area your at.

Thanks a lot. I gonna do what you have said

you have tried almost every rom except for the ( pacman rom v18 ) its a jelly bean 4.1.2 based rom , i am stuck with it , every thing is working perfectly ( wifi , bluetooth , camera .... etc )
with some common tweaks i get an excellent battery life ,its even better than it was in the stock gingerbread rom ...
by the way , its non-sense rom
