You know there are different launchers right? And that's all the difference between roms, just different launchers that are already on the market (except the SenseUI one for obvious reasons).

Any good roms ?

any good roms ?
is there a rom with htc sense but the menu is 3-d draw and with effects when you backout from the app ?
there's plenty of SenseUI ROM's available in the Android Dev forum, I personally don't know/haven't used any of them so couldn't tell you which have the features you're after.
You could try Amer Bravox v4.1. It is a very good rom and it is based on MCR 3.1, which runs android 2.1 and not Froyo. It comes with the ADW Launcher installed by default and has the 3D apps drawer effect that you are looking for.

[Q]Turn HTC Sense Off[Q]

So I saw a video on YouTube on how to disable HTC Sense and use the default stock launcher, however that device was running 2.1 and so it won't work on my device...
I was just wondering is there anyway to disable sense without installing a separate ROM on 2.2, thanks.

I think the only way is with a new rom
You can't turn in off, as you can't install Sense on a non-sense rom.
However, you can install a different launcher, i think the gingerbread stock launher is on the market.
Because HTC Sense is built onto the Android interface, shouldn't closing HTC Sense enable the stock launcher? All HTC did was take the 2.1 nexus Rom and write Sense into it, they never removed a thing so surely there is a way?

Ahh thanks, they should give people a choice between Sense and the Stock Launcher. Fair do's people should just get the Nexus if that's what they are looking for, but the Nexus in the UK was only available on one network, and I for one completely prefer the standard Launcher, HTC Sense 1.0 (Desire Version) is very buggy and laggy.
It surprise me that you know how HTC made Sense and at the same time you don't even know what it is.
Like mentioned by Surfy89, Sense is way more then the htc launcer (rosie). If you want to get rid of Sense you need to flash a alternative rom (AOSP).
If you are talking about using a different launcher then the sense launcher (rosie), you can just install a alternative launcher from the market. So you do have the choice to use whatever launcher you want. Al tough the sense widgets won't work with a alternative launcher.

This is the video I saw: YouTube
I got the wrong info, sorry for wasting time
Even the comments under the video are saying it's an old feature.
Either install different launcher from the market (Launcher Pro, Zeam, Go Launcher ... plenty of them) or root and flash a custom AOSP rom. That's the way to go.

have a good search on the market yourself would be the best option for you. there are literally thousands of different options for you. but customisation is relatively limited for non rooted phones, live wallpapers and HTC themes, avaliable though HTC built in Sense Themes.
with certain roms, they take on the T-Mobile theme system what utilises much more themes to download and customise. launchers only make changes to your main screen and application list, icons as such a limited.
adw launcher, launcher pro, helix launcher
Re. Make your phone look nice without root...
This might raise some hackles, but in my opinion, when it comes to the aesthetics between rooted and stock phones, there isn't usually a drastic difference. You can get a stock ROM looking really great. I run LauncherPro Plus on CM7.1, but to be honest the cosmetic difference between that and running it on stock Froyo is fairly minor, to the, uhm, passerby. *hides*
Thanks this helps alot
An here are also some nice Themes for Sense 2.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 and Sense 2.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048894
Launcher pro is a good one. You should check it out

[Q] touchwiz for desire

is der a chance to get samsungs touchwiz 3.0 or 4 on htc desire?
or are der alternative roms becaus aosp roms are too "small" there no features..
Touchwiz I dont like. What features do you want?
You can use feature like SEARCH -Xda has - questions asked an aswered already.
And AFAIK, NO - Somebody did it with SE Timescape, but no TW.
widgets like samsung, appdrawer like samsung.
on aosp roms are only the most necessary things (sorry my english is not so good)
or maybe sth like the miui rom..
everything but NO sense
Touchwiz is not worth it mate. If you want it for horizontal, then all the big ones have that option. (Adw, LP or go launcher. Go is my personal favourite out of them. You can even get a touchwiz theme for it ;-)

Yes I love go. Convert from lpp

Go is great.. Came from ADW Ex, never looking back.
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
Why don't give MIUI a try? I think it looks a little like samsung.
i think miui is look like iphone
its the sane as iphone
and hell better than touchwiz
comfy alot to do with it
really like it i running it for a while now but it eats battary lol

HTC Sense & custom launchers

Recently I've switched to nova launcher because sense was making my phone lag when I used Opera Mobile browser or other heavy apps.
Is it necessary now to freeze HTC Sense because it still runs in background & takes a lot of RAM & I am not using its launcher anymore?
Also is there a way to retain the Sense camera features somehow while the Sense is freezed? I only want the Sense launcher go away, the sense camera is quite nice.
My phone is rooted with custom ROM SuPrimo v30 installed.
