[Q] My EVO 4G unreachable after 2hrs standby - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I bought an EVO 4g from USA and tried to get the service from China Telecom. Everythings seems all OK for my EVO 4g. But recently, I got an issue is that my phone can't reachable after my phone standby arround 2hrs. So, I missed many calls from friends and coworkers. When my friends call me, the service voice will say the phone you dialed is power off. Can some master from this forum can help me?
Some background I need to share:-
China Telecom is a CDMA service provider in China. However, the mainstream phone they provided is using an UIM card which is very similar as SIM card in GSM network. The identify paramaters are embed in UIM card but not in the phone. Before I can use EVO 4g, I need to write the parameters (IMSI, AKEY, ...) into phone with 3rd party software or via EPST.
Thanks

no hsdpa/3g

this is a problem ive been trying to resolve with tmobile, to no avail.
basically the data network only seems to use gprs and not 3g or hsdpa, despite me being in an hsdpa area. my kaiser with another tmobile contract sim gets hsdpa speeds fine, as does the tp2 when its got the old sim in, but this new sim doesnt seem to allow it. it wont be a handset problem and its not a coverage problem, its as if its been disabled by tmobile. for the record both the contracts are identical. (the kaiser one has a few days left in it)
ive called and emailed tmobile frequently over the last week, but they dont seem to understand the problem and cant help. noone seems to have heard of hsdpa and the last phone call lasted over an hour, with the ending result being 'we dont know'
im aware that they might have to 'flick a switch' to enable it on my data plan, but cant quite communicate with them this.
anyone got any tips? could their be a particular number/email address i could use?
They probably indeed have to flick a switch. If all else fails, just request a new SIM from them saying this one broke or something.

I have the same problem but on Orange Romania. The THC is unlocked and on the TytnII the SIM has worked perfectly but in the new TP2 no HSDPA. With another SIM from Vodafone the HSDPA is working.

You're not the only one facing this issue i see! I have had a Tmobile contract for years on the TytnII and ALWAYS had the HSDPA working fine. I got the Vodafone touch pro 2 and now the best i get is GPRS or 3G. trying the settings>all setting> advanced tab> did not help either. I guess T-mobile can enable or disable this at will especially if they can detect the device type is not a Tmobile one...
Sorry for the lame question but how do I know what my connection is? My icon with the bars changes to "3G" when I use data but I noticed a friend's phone shows "H" instead. I already have enabled HSDPA in the connection settings but still get 3G everywhere and never seen H on my phone so far.

[Q] For anyone who uses t-mobile, do you experience this?

I started using t-mobile monthly 4g on my phone this past month, purchased the non-gba 50.01 sim card from ebay and activated it with another t-mobile activation kit. The service has been so bad on my phone. The signal will intermittently switch on and off around every 15-45 seconds. The best internet I get is 2g, this is part of htc one x's band not being able to use t-mobile's 3g and 4g right? I'm also rooted and on cyanogenmod 10 if that helps narrow the problem. Would t-mobile's old sim card have anything to do with the service being bad, because the coverage map is excellent in my area.

Hox can access the 3g network just fine. I would go and question T-Mobile.

LG G4 4G US cellular Issue

Hey there XDA members I have a question I really need help on.
I've had a LG G4 for about 4 months now I bought it unlocked from amazon. I love the phone and it runs great. But there's a problem.
It's the US cellular model (of course) and I successfully got it on straight talks network by buying there GSM SIM card kit. It will get 4G but when it's on the 4G network it won't send texts or receive them nor will it make a call but data works just fine with it. When I switch to GSM/UMTS it sends texts receives them makes calls and uses data. I'm wondering if there is a fix for this or if anyone else is having this issue.
The model is US911.

Can't use some SIM cards for calls, data and SMS only

I tried to Google this, here I found found only problems with SIM cards not being recognised, not being able to establish a data connection etc. I seriously doubt anyone will be able to help - it's probably rare. Still, I'd really love someone smarter than me to try and figure it out.
Bought a P8000 in late 2015. With my standard combination, a Croatian BonBon SIM (cheap prepaid MVNO, owned by HT (Croatian Telecom, previously T-Mobile Croatia, part of Deutsche Telekom group) and first a A1 (Telekom Austria), later Klax (another prepaid T-Mobile brand, this one Austrian), I had absolutely no problems with either data or voice connections (4G/3G/2G), one data SIM at a time, as usual. (P8000, when 4G signal isn't strong enough, but exists, has to be set to prefer 3G - easy to solve manually).
When my primary phone went to hell, I tried using the SIM card from Tele2 Croatia, this being a contract (unimportant). This SIM connects ´without fault to the Tele2 4G network, can send and receive SMS, but no way to make or receive a voice call. Tele2 replaced the SIM twice - they insist they never heard of such a problem.
I got a new Huawei Mate 9 for myself, no problems with Tele2 SIM, the Elephone went to my daughter, then living in Austria.
She used it with her 3 Austria (Drei) SIM, again, everything working perfectly.
Now she moved to Spain, two weeks ago, tried an Orange SIM - and again, it's the exact same situation as with Tele2 Croatia. Mobile data perfect, sms OK, no voice calls in or out. Temporarily, she put the Orange SIM in an antique Samsung Galaxy (1? - anyway the first generation). It works great (no LTE of course, but 3G is fast enough).
Nobody I asked could explain why cards connecting to networks that use same frequencies (900/1800 MHz GSM, 2100 MHz UMTS/WCDMA, 800/2100 LTE) generally totally standard European networks should have problems with voice calls only (I tried 4 or 5 other SIMs, Croatian, Austrian and German - no issue. Just these two - but as I said, replacements didn't wotk either - so it seems to be a phone problem.
Just to mention: I did try both SIM slots, disabling SIMs, access points wre automatically set up, but I did check with providers and they were OK, SIMs were registered, activated etc.
One possibility that I just thought of: This P8000 displays an "invalid IMEI" message - and IMEI certainly IS invalid , 0123456789 if I'm not mistaken - but it had that IMEI from day one (I bought it from Amazon Germany, not on a street coner) and if Tele2 Croatia and Orange Spain check this but still allow data connections, and other providers can't be bothered it would be a bit surprising.
Regards and thanks a lot in advance to resident gurus - I know just how to flash a ROM, root a phone - but have absolutely no theoretical knowledge when it comes to mobile communications.

I'm sort of aware that repeating a question is usually unproductive. On the XDA I was unable to find a similar case, regardless of the phone model. I asked different technicians and support staff, asked Elephone about it (no answer). Being a curious person and generally able to solve technical issues, I'll be happy to hear even a "stupid old guy, this can't be true".
I can help you with Windows, Mac OS, Linux on PC or Mac, fix your servers, explain VDSL 2 or how to use 1991 Novell C compiler, but no bloody clue why an Elephone with EU stock ROM cannot use two different SIM cards, regular voice / data cards, nothing special or in any way specific to make voice calls, and still work great with these same cards when it comes to mobile data. Ten other cards work great, Austrian, German, Croatian, Slovak, Spanish.
WTF can this be?
