I Have had my OGP for about three weeks now on Metro PCS and Its Getting 4G LTE . I do hope more people buy and support this phone cause it's such a great phone. I just sold my Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy s3 to get It. It's not offer'ed on other carriers but what the hell we have the option of at least going to three of the 3 major carriers and use this device. all I can say is BUY THIS PHONE :good::good:

I have a question for you, I purchased the at&t lg optimus prime g, I took it to a metro store and I bought a sim card, talk and text seem to work fine, but I don't get any data. Did you do anything to get the phone to work, other than just inserting the SIM card? I was thinking the APNs were still set as the at&t apns and that is why I'm not getting anything. Thank you in advance.

Yes it`s the APN`s stopping you from getting data. You will need to obtain them. Also depending on your area you may or may NOT get 3G as since MetroPCS is now T-Mobile this phone does NOT fully support T-Mobile`s 3G/4G HSPA+ bands. you will only get 3G/4G HSPA+ in refarmed areas.

It does NOT look like your getting LTE in that screenshot... On AT&T phones 4G at the top means 3G/HSPA+. It will say 4G LTE if your on LTE.

Not to bring an old post back from the dead but... Are you still on Metro PCS? If so, how are you liking the LTE coverage? Currently I'm on T-Mobile and thinking of switching to Metro's unlimited LTE for $60 a month. Save me about $13.00 a month.
LTE or Not LTE
My wife one night left her phone with me and in this location it showed 4gLTE I hadnt bothered since I unlocked and rooted it we use Metro i put an early version of cyanogen on it and mine is a twin in blue with nightlies I only get the hspa* not the 4gLTE what am I doing wrong?
I just switched from PTel Mobile to MetroPCS. Both carriers are using T-Mobile network, on a secondary degree of importance or something like that.
Originally my LG OGP was activated on ATT, then switched to PTel Mobile and on both carriers got 4G LTE with no problems whatsoever. Now on MetroPCS the best it can do is EDGE and when I open the internet Browser, loses all signals (even phone capabilities) and have to restart phone in order to make phone calls again.
APN settings are as depicted on the post above, and calls and texts work well. The problem is the internet, or the lack of it.
Anyone have had problems like this? Any solution?
(the lady on MetroPCS was not of any help. She just keep complaining about my LG being a piece of S... and that I should buy a new phone from them)
Hello,
I tried searching but for whatever reason I came up with absolutely nothing, nothing! Guess some things screwy with search or my account.
So I've used sprint for years now basically because its the only provider with towers in my area. I'm currently using a nexus 5 and recently started using a at&t gophone Sim in it when I go out of the county. I then bought a Nexus 4 to put the Sim card in but now I'm missing LTE which seems to be way faster that sprints and much more readily available. Heck hpsa+ is much faster than sprints LTE here when I go far enough to get sprint LTE.
Is it possible to but a LTE version of the nexus 7 and then root it with a ROM with a dialer and then pop my gophone sim in and use it through Bluetooth?
I don't think it supports cellular calls at all; AT&T also might flag it as a tablet.
You could try voip out with, if you have good T-Mobile reception, one of their tablet plans. They do allow SMS on them. You might be able to use Vonage with that number. I've paired them up just fine on a Samsung T869. You won't have any incoming calls or voicemail (maybe through Vonage?) but voip worked great for me on T-Mobile LTE.
Also, if you know anyone with postpaid T-Mobile you can get a data plan really cheap on their account. Verizon postpaid plans don't look too bad either but you'd have to go all voip.
Thanks for your response. I unfortunately don't have T-Mobile coverage for probably 50 miles or more. I have a Magicsim dual Sim tray on the way for my nexus 5. If that doesn't work I'll be buying another nexus 5 then for my att Sim. Thanks!
Sprint LG G4 with latest updates. Two devices (both g4) are affected right when phones cross over into Canada. All settings correct, phones have even been wiped and they tried to have Sprint unlock and use a Rodgers sim. No dice. However when you try to call them it rings on the Rodgers network (20 rings then busy signal) so it is trying. Just doesn't ring on device. When you call voicemail on either device it works however the call cannot be ended without taking battery out. (o r any other call for that matter) they can call out. But just not to each other (probably part of receiving call problem). We have been working on this for a month to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. I also posted on the Sprint forum but have had no responses so I decided to broaden the net. Thanks!

Sprint is CDMA, Rogers is GSM I believe?
You can probably get LTE for Data on a Sprint device, but you can not get it to make or receive calls/texts.
If you needed a CDMA capable device with world capabilities, Verizon variant would work. YMMV
It is a "world phone" and comes with a gsm SIM card. They have an international plan to boot (unlimited data text and 20 cents a minute) so it should work! Has EVERYONE baffled. Sprint unlocked the device and it doesn't reject a Rodgers sim either just has these goofy problems still. Very bizarre. Troubling thing is this -one device I could see being bad, but two???
This also happens with me. Anybody can help?
I have the LG E980 Optimus G Pro POS phone. Had it unlocked, inserted a cricket sim card and though I can sometimes make calls when it decides to connect, I very rarely get 4G or LTE, mostly its a little "E" with one or two bars of signal. The phone will not send photos but surfs the web on wifi with no issues.
I have read through this forum and found some workarounds with StraightTalk users but can't find anything for Cricket users. I have tried creating an APN with Crickets data but the Authentication Type is restricted from any editing leading me to believe that this phone is locked to AT&T's network regardless of what unlock codes I entered successfully.
When I attempt to make outbound calls the phone usually takes 3-4 attempts as it drops the call and forces me to redial eventually after enough tries it connects but the quality of the call suks monkey nutz.
I don't really know if rooting will help. I did try a workaround straight talk users were having success with where the APN was edited with the SIM card removed but even that was fruitless as the AT&T APN kept showing up over and over again once I reinserted a SIM card.
This phone is slated for air to wall impact testing very soon if this waste of money can't be fixed and my thoughts that AT&T locked this junk down turn out to be true. So if anyone is knowledgeable with Cricket networks using this phone any guidance is appreciated and in advance I humbly bow to your expertise in these matters. THANK YOU.
I use the phone on Cricket network and have had nothing but superb service, I had service with AT&T. I ordered my sim off ebay for Cricket inserted it went through the setup and all is fine. only thing I can think of is your phone is not unlocked... Mine is carrier and boot loader unlocked and rooted, only problem I had was I couldn't send picture mess... spot where you add the APN type was blanked out, that was on stock 4.4.2 I just went with a modded version of 4.4.2 and all is fine... blows att out of the water full bars lte all the time, Hope you get it figured out.. sure glad I switched....
U really dont need a unlocked att phone to use on cricket
Locked att phones work fine too
Cricket runs on the att network and is owned by att
I switched my s4 from att to cricket without unlocking
The cricket salesman also said any att phone would work since its the same network
You must have a diferent issue
I use my att e980 on cricket at this moment
Bought it off ebay and very happy with it
