So I've got a blown speaker. And I would just try to get a replacement through warranty, but I dropped the phone in the dogs' water bowl a few months ago and the ink on the water damage sticker has bled. So does anyone know of a write up of replacing one and know where I can get a replacement one? Or would it be easier just to use Assurion?
You can find how-to vid on youtube and there should be replacements on ebay for cheap

My lens cover has been cracked since purchase. Is there any possible way to get a new lens cover to replace the cracked one??

Mine cracked too :-(
Ive read in other posts that there are basically 2 options:
1. Pay the $100+ fee and have insurance replace the phone
2. Buy the camera replacement package, at like $150
I think some guy got lucky and the Sprint repair shop fixed his, but I don't think this is common.
Post up on how it goes for you.
Hmmm the sprint store said they can't repair it and you can't buy the lens cover anywhere. I wish I noticed it earlier.
Thank you for your input.

Why wouldn't you just return it or exchange it if it has been broken since you bought it...?
It still boggles my wind why they would design the camera to protrude from the back of the device with nothing protecting it so it doesnt sit flush. Even something like a rubber ring around the lens would probably prevent cracks.
I've seen a few on eBay. That piece is part of the internal frame though, and the part is about $50.
You can contact "timewarptables7" on eBay to see if he has any. That's who I got mine through. He said he had 5-6 of them, but that they are somewhat rare and gets them from his supplier only occasionally.
Mine has been this way too
Thanks for that eBay listing..might go through with that. I exchanged my Evo three days before my thirty days were up. Then a few days later, I realized it was cracked. Best Buy said it was then too late to exchange...:-{

Happened to me too. No idea when :-( I even the Platinum Case from BB.
I just ripped out the Lens Cover. Just a matter of time now before something gets stuck in there and scratched the real lens. Guess at that point I will file a claim.
Well my girlfriend jumped on my lap and smashed my phone in my pocket. The outer screen did not break but the lcd screen appears to be broken. I found replacement lcds on ebay for $75. Has anyone had any experience switching out screens or does anyone have a guide on how to dismantle the phone.
bump it TTT
I'm confident that there may be a guide around here. If there isn't one try searching on google which there will be one. The screen is really easy to replace from what I've heard. Good luck!

If you have insurance call sprint and ask them for a credit for the deductible. Worked for me
I had my phone apart to cool down.(it was getting pretty hot) and I was drinking some water. Something happened where I coughed a little up and a drop hit the exact spot where the water damage sticker is. Not the one on the batter but the one underneath. Does anyone know where I could buy a replacement sticker? All the repair parts sites I know don't have parts for our phone yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I need to send it back to T-mobile because the touch screen isn't responsive half the time.
Sounds like a well thought out story to me. None the less, ebay is your friend.

I've checked ebay. There is no need for me to make up a story. I'd admit if I did water damage my phone in any way because I can fix water damage. I repair cell phones for my job.
I'm not sure posting about your attempts to alter your liquid damage indicator onto a public forum is a good idea William.

If you rub the sticker while it is wet it will start to pill away from the phone. I have seen people bring in their phones to my store and you can tell when they tried to fix the indicator.

That's the worst luck EVER!!! I mean, a single drop of water just HAPPENED to fall directly on the water damage sticker, AND your screen stopped responding?!?!???
Well, it's a good thing you repair cell phones for a living, you can fix the damage yourself without filing a warranty claim and causing higher prices for the rest of us

guys i have my phone Liquipel which makes my phone waterproof with no case
what you could do is look and see if the water sticker on the battery is the same if it is just use that one
Buy an OEM Battery. Swap stickers....

Shouldn't even need an OEM battery as Tmo only switches out the main piece of the phone without the battery or cover.
My 1.5 year old G2 took a bad fall and display stopped working. I barely got this replacement from Asurion on Monday and I already have dust under the glass, which was never a problem for my original G2. Is there a good way of getting it out? I have an air compressor, will blowing my G2 in the earpiece get the dirt out, or blow more dirt in?
Same issue once. Just take it back apart. Clean with microfiber cloth. Then use adhesive very heavily around the speaker area. Problem solved.

I had the same problem when I bought the device. I brought it back and they change it for a new one without complaining.
I do not know any DIY way to solve this problem...what about sending it to maintenance service? It would take a while but you'll be sure to have it fixed properly.
Ive never dropped a cellphone but today was that day. I had bought an invisible shield to put it on today when i got home. Right when i got home i put the phone in my pocket but it had it had hole. BAM. it dropped down my leg and hit the concrete face down. It shattered the digitizer but the lcd is intact. My question was, would i be able to buy a digitizer and change it without having to pay 180 for a new digitizer/lcd ? any help would be appreciated.

I'm fairly sure I've read that the digitizer is fused with the screen.
Yeah there's no way going around it. They're glued together as one piece.
FFFFFFFUUUUUUUU dammit

I spoke to some rep from samsung yesterday on my phone and they said it would be 179.99 to fix it. But my question is, do i have to include the lcd ? Because my lcd isnt broke and they sell the glass on ebay for 20 bucks. I would rather try and fix it myself and break it, THEN send it to samsung if i cant fix it instead of paying 180 bucks for just some glass since my lcd is not broken and have them rip me off because they will def reuse my lcd and win anyways.

It's been answered.. if you want to do it yourself you're going to end up breaking your LCD and need to buy the part or send it to Samsung anyways. There is no way around it.
There is a video on YouTube with somebody changing only the glass. Check on YouTube so you will have an idea about how to do it and if you will be able.

I dont believe they are "fused" together. from my history in repairing phones, there is just a small sliver of double sided tape holding the digitizer to the LCD screen. and all you need to do is use a plastic seperating tool to slowly seperate the two. Also, use a good hot hair dryer to help melt away the adhesive. good luck!
Go to a hardware store and pick up a heat gun. Take the phone completely apart, take out all the electronics. Heat the screen evenly and slowly start pulling the screen up little by little while hitting it with the heat gun.
Take your time and don't rush. It can be done but it's not easy and can damage the LCD.

If you do this HEAT the **** out of the LCD and digitizer. It will be very hard to separate the two. Please take pictures and tell us you're approach to help other S3 users.
I had a long ass post written but now it's gone. boo.
anyways. Here's something to consider as to why you can't separate it. If you believe there's a way to get around it then good luck.
