Hi,
I tried to flush the stock ROM from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824357&page=17 on an unbranded DHD, but the process failed and now I'm stuck at the HBoot screen.
While running the RUU, it said "Waiting for the bootloader" (or something similar) and Windows just started installing a driver. After a while, RUU failed with an error message that it cannot complete the operation. Behind it, there was the windows dialog informing that I had to restart it to complete the driver's installation. Since the RUU had already failed I rebooted, but after that RUU does not see the phone as being connected.
When I unplug the phone from the USB cable, I get a white screen with the following info:
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.85.0007
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
and whit white letters on an orange background: RUU
While being plugged in the USB cable, the phone displays a black screen with HTC on it.
How can I restore the phone to the previous state or continue flushing the stock ROM?
Thanks
I've found out later this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767440 and the update finished successfully.

I recently followed the unrevoked guide to root my phone and put on the clockworkmod custom recovery image. On the second step, Unrevoked said 'waiting for phone reboot' but the phone got stuck in the white HTC screen. I can boot into HBOOT but not recovery mode, the phone gets stuck in the white HTC screen everytime I try. Anyone know where i go from here to trouble shoot this/reset the device.
Happened to me too when i tried to root. Just root it again with unrevoked and it should be fixed.
I cant ... Unrevoked says 'Waiting for device. Plug phone in now and enble USB debugging. Make sure HTC sync is *not* installed ! ... (its plugged to the phone while the phone is stuck on the white HTC screen)
Bump! ..
Try flashing an official RUU ROM.
You can find a list of ROMs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
I've similar problem. I think I can not use unrevoked because it need to enable debugging mode but my system is stuck at htc logo screen so I can not do that.
I can go to bootloader and here is the information on it.
Code:
Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.92.0001
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.09.00.20
Jul 23 2010,16:46:44
the problem started after volume down key and touch ball stopped working and some update was installed.
I can not go to recovery mode as it will just reboot for ever when I chose it from HBoot. I tried to root again but I get
Code:
FAILED (remote: 43 main version check fail)
at some point. The phone is unbranded
Should I start another post?
I've read several guides and I've tried several different RUU's
RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe

RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe
All of them do the same thing, they connect to the phone start loading and when the phone is showing the hTC logo they say waiting for bootloader and then say an error occurred.
Some of the guides say leave the phone on the htc screen and reload the bootloader. The moment I exit the RUU installation the phone reboots to cyanogen mod. I've tried restarting etc.. leaving the phone in and just re-running. No luck, I cannot get the phone to stay on the hTC screen, it always restarts when I exit the program.
Any ideas as the phone needs repairing as the cpu crashes continuously!
Thanks

Which error code occured? CID error? If yes, create a goldcard:
http://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/
After this, pu this in your desire and flash ruu again:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00. 32U_5.11.05.27_release (If you want stock froyo)
RUU_Brav2_UK_1.20.207.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06 .00.02_2_release_124865.exe (If you want eclair rom with o2 rom (i guess that was your branding).
I get Error code 171 error connecting via usb. This is when it's just loaded the new bootloader and is sitting on the new htc logo. I then click exit and it throws me back to cyanogen mod.
I have the original gold card in from when I did the root.
Try the RUU on baadnwz.eu/search/label/addons
I've just them before i rooted my phone with Unrevoked

Sounds for me you could have an usb brick. Here is a guide how fix it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639
When done, try to flash ruu like before again.
Okay,
I tried the usb brick fix. Made no difference. It was still throwing the 171 error.
I had a look around online and found you can grap the rom.zip file from the temp directory of windows while the RUU is running. I renamed this to PB99IMG.zip and dropped it on the root of the sd card (gold card) and then booted to hboot. This then started to install the new hboot 0.93 and O2 UK Froyo from the
RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32 U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe RUU.
Hope this helps if anyone else is stuck.
Tried to flash an original firmware. Got stuck at 59% for 20 minutes so i pulled the plug. But in the process i lost s-off and recovery.
Now i cant install any RUU (tried 8-9) and i tried with 3 gold sd cards. Install from windows or PB99IMG is not working. Every time i run a RUU from windows 7 i get error 132 - signature error. I dont understand why because i have a gold card and my cid is suppose to be HTC__032 which should be unbranded.
I dont have xp but i highly doubt i would get signature error from the OS
Now when i connect the phone i get a black screen - in the middle says HTC and in each corner of the screen is a little triangle with an exclamation mark inside.
If i unplug it i get the standard hboot screen:
Bravo PVT! Ship S-on
Hboot 0.93
Radio 5.11.05.27
RUU
So. Is my Desire bricked?
Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201298
sounds like exactly the same problem. We didn't get it solved, but concluded that signature verification somehow broke from what we understood.
In advance, thank you for any assistance.

To make a long story short, the Dinc is stuck at the Hboot screen. How it got there, not quite sure. Wasn't my phone and am trying to fix it for a friend.
I have a tested working SD card, and tested working USB cable. The phone, when power is pressed - boots to the white HTC screen, then goes blank/black. The phone can get to the bootloader by vol+&power, but when accessing recovery choice, again, white HTC screen then blank/black. I've tried flashing stock with pg32img.zip, but it hangs on recovery (30+ min).
I've tried connecting to PC, and the drivers are properly installed, HTC sync is removed and the device is seen by fastboot; but not adb. In fastboot, regardless of the command, I get an error. Again, any ideas and assistance are welcome.
Thank you,

I am having the same problem today and need help ASAP since this is my only device. Im stuck on the revolutionary exe cmd where it says waiting for fastboot while the phone is stuck on the boot loader.
Guys please post the error message. Need more info.
fastboot devices should show as follows.
Hi there.
The problem is that I can't turn on my phone as it gets stuck no that green HTC logo.
It all started when I installed an app from google market. The phone was restarting every time I launched the app. Eventually it stopped turning on and got stuck. Also, I tried doing hard reset and other things from HBOOT menu, but there's the same problem if I choose anything except recovery— it gets stuck. I searched for the issue on the internet. So, I decided to flash a newROM. I downloaded 2.42.405.4 — Android 2.3 (with root+busybox, installs from Recovery). Renamed it as PC10IMG.zip and put it on a SD card. Then I tried to run a recovery through HBOOT. After few seconds phone with a circle of arrows appeared and phone turned off and did 7 short vibrations. Now, I guess, it's bricked completely as it doesn't respond to my actions at all. Neither the red light in the corner after I connect the phone to computer.
I managed to get some information from HBOOT menu:
Code:
VISION PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0013
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.10.04.03_M
eMMC-boot
Apr 11 2011, 23:36:27
Before the issue I downloaded official 2.3 upgrade.
Some help would be appreciated, thanks
