US T-mobile with Central EU ROM - Defy General

I today installed the Central EU ROM on my US T-mobile and then updated with the US 3G fix. Also changed the system font with 'Planera'.
It seems motoblur services definitely slows down the phone. Even without overclocking/undervolting the phone's quadrant scores have improved and there is no lag at all, (i used to hate the lockscreen lag).
Before flashing the Central EU SBF, the quadrant scores were 951 approx and post flashing it is now 1070.
So for all US T-mobile Defy owners, i think central EU ROM is a good alternative if you dont want to experiment too much and want to have an official Motorola Deblurred ROM.

Motorola Defy BEST *ROOTED* SET UP

Yesterday I received my new T-Mobile Motorola Defy with 2.1-update1 and rooted it with these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=955061
First off I overclocked it to 1Ghz at 60 vsel (Stable)
So my Question is what is the best running / Stable set up?
Was looking to get rid of all the t-mobile crap and /or Blur on the phone and maybe run 2.2 froyo or 2.3 gingerbread if possible.
In this case does the phone run to its full potential with out loosing its features?
Please post your best stable Defy set up, I would love the input before taking steps in the wrong direction!
See thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990985
If you want stability, consider not modifying your phone's software. If it's not broken, don't fix it. And ofcourse, there is no 'most stable'. Something is either stable, or unstable. Best of luck
1.1 ghz 52 v surprisingly stable
I've got mine at 1.2 and at 80. Much quicker and no battery issues

[Debrand] T-Mobile U.S. WFS

Successfully "downgrade/upgrade" Tmobile US rom to HTC Euro (RUU_Marvel_HTC_Europe_1.66.401.1_Radio_47.10g.35.3 032H_7.49.36.01M_release_209754_signed) and gain 120mb free space, thanks to Football for the upload. Get it here http://www.filefactory.com/file/cfd...5.3032H_7.49.36.01M_release_209754_signed.exe
Hi i thought that the last version of the htc europe room was the RUU_Marvel_HTC_Europe_1.33.401.2_Radio_47.10.35.30 29H_7.46.35.08_release_185724_signed.
Does this new version corrects any tipe of bugs that use to exist in the last one , like when after a reboot it downloads again the last file file you have downloaded.
Or is it smother, faster than the last one???
Didn't noticed it yet, smooth as previous 1.33. Also, hboot gone from 0.90 to 1.x3
I wonder if autorotate works on that ROM for tmobile usa users.. doubt it does.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using Tapatalk
OFC it works, not on rosie and launcher only.
My quadrant scores stay above 700 with this rom plus its a lot faster than the Tmo rom maybe because there's no extra crap hogging resources.

Known Issues with tegra 3 one x?

Hi all,
I am a LG G2x owner that foolishly bought the phone knowing it was a dual core phone at a cheap price. After exploring forums, I later found out LG never updates the device and there are coding problems so we will never get fully working ics/jb on it. Thankfully, there were no glaring hardware flaws.
Is there any software/hardware flaws that I need to know about before I buy one off of ebay? I know a bit about the wifi hardware issue. How many people are affected by it? I just don't want to be caught in a dead end phone with constant problems.
On another note how is the battery life?
Thanks guys.
No s-off....
I've had no wifi issues. Most phones have the JB update. I wouldn't hold your breath for anymore though. ROM development is pretty good. AOKP/AOSP have ironed out most bugs so you have lots of options there.
Battery life is on par for phones with similar screen size etc. It should easily get you through the day with "normal" use.

Do most people or minority have the WiFi issue? Is there any road blocks that would stop development? (Like driver stuff not hardware) for example the radio on g2x has weird coding or something that stops call audio to work in cm development.

Our phones are still semi-locked. We couldn't install SENSE roms without the firmware update from HTC, which was rolled out slowly and is limited to very specific regions. The majority of unbranded handsets and some branded have the latest firmware so are good to go.
AOSP/AOKP roms don't have this limitation, so we've been able to install them all along.
HTC releases their kernel source eventually, so I think we're OK on that front. We are still waiting on the JB kernel, however.
I think the wifi issue was more of a problem when people were installing the leaked JB firmware. It wasn't a final product and had a few issues, wifi being one of them. Now that the official firmware has been released, I haven't seen this issue so much.

OK good I like clean android anyway. Would unbranded international phones get the updates first?
Sent from my sexy G2x
The Taiwan phones got the official update first (it turned out to have issues).
A few weeks later the Asia WWE (world wide english) versions got a newer update that doesn't seem to have any issues followed by International WWE version.
Now India, Philippines, Egypt, Romania, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong unbranded phones have updates.
The ones that are still waiting are carrier branded like H3G, Orange, Vodafone etc.
(There are some brilliant roms based off the official sense roms with a few tweaks here and there)

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to try all the diff options for ROMs before settling . But first I gotta win the eBay auction I refuse to settle for the dual core version

Haha. Good luck man!
The stock ones I've tried, and think are great, are Maximus and ARHD for JB. Viper ROM is my fav, but no JB just yet.
Here is a great list of the available roms, listed as sense, or non-sense (AOKP/AOSP/MIUI) roms
Thanks just an hour left

Just looked up what s-off meant.. I'm still a little confused. What types of ROMs are s-off and what are s-on? I didn't face these on the lg threads
Sent from my sexy G2x
S-On means that we can't flash boot.img files from recovery. We have to do it from fastboot. Generally, all except a special few are s-on.
We also don't have full access to parts of the phone like radio or hboot.
The issue with the Sense JB roms is that they were dependant on a new hboot, which had to be rolled out officially. This doesn't affect AOSP roms, it was only to do with a restriction HTC had on their Sense modifications.
As long as the phone you're buying isn't carrier branded, you will be able to flash just about everything. (you may need to update it first)

Ah ok I think I get it. So basically custom Roms have to come from vanilla android not based off of sense Roms? And the one I'm getting is 32GB unlocked international one x with tegra 3
Sent from my sexy G2x
Custom roms that are modified from the sense roms require a certain hboot version. Hopefully the one you're getting is one that has the update rolled out.
You'll have fun with it either way, it's a great phone. There are some great roms out there.

Eh I don't wanna follow mainstream usa. I don't really like the s3 anyway. And as for battery life is it possible to last the day with moderate usage?
Edit.:too late now I'm officially a hox Owner! Just awaiting to go pick it up. What should I run/do with it now that I have it

You live in the USA and want to buy the international One X? Fair enough...
It can go through the day quite easily with moderate usage, but if you use it more than 4hours a day it might be difficult.

Lol I wanted T 3 version and one x+is too expensive . I don't like the display on s3 and how hyped it was. I would have gotten optimusg but not much DEV support. The nexus 4 would have worked but overpriced on eBay. I'm on T-Mobile and don't use data so 4g doesn't bother Me. If I was to get data. It would be in Chicago where T-Mobile has refarmed the 1900 towers for 4g.

I don't have any issues with battery running out. (I can get 1.5 days out of one charge) I don't do anything special like underclocking... Actually, I do use advanced power mod to reduce automatic brightness levels.
I think you'll only run into issues if you love playing games, or don't have a job and use your phone aaaaalll day.

KK Italy vs Other KK FW

Did anyone here tried flashing the KK FW other than the Italy one? And are there any differences of bugs between the KK Italy and the new KK firmwares? I'm curious.
I am from India. Indian firmware has not been released yet.I am waiting for that.
also I flashed the Malaysian version.
might be some kind of placebo effect but I think it is free of lags(especially UI seems to be pretty smooth).
antutu and quadrant benchmark scores are lower in case of CPU, but higher in GPU.
and there are some other minor differences in the preinstalled apps.

I want to know the same, or even if the old JB rom is faster.
