Hi, I'm a noob wit a epic 4g, wat I've learned so far I've got from randy on youtube by the way much tnks randy, anyway dis is my delema I was on froyo 2.2 an 4 sum reason I could not get the 1click root 2 work so I odin back to eclair 2.1 so I could get z4root & try it tat way it says I'm rooted & I see the superuser icon but when I boot up to recovery its the same and the app store is thbe same I still have 2 pay 4 apps is there sum tin I'm doing wrong or is there an easyer way to do this I have a lot of rom's I want to try can anybody help me with this tnks in advance.

It sounds like you have some misconceptions. Rooting doesn't give you the new recovery. The one-click does both root and recovery. Z4root just roots. Also, root access doesn't make market apps free.
And the easiest way to do it is the one-click.
Ok tnks 4 clarifing my misconception of the z4root but should I via odin back 2 froyo & find an easy 1click root & CWM 2 boot up to my epic 4g or is there sum tin I'm doing wrong here

2.2.1 killed the z4root exploit. You need to use the oneclickroot.

I updated to 2.2 and oneclickroot works fine. I flashed the Epic Experience Rom and everything works.

It might be but I did the oneclick root after using odin and the sprint release of 2.2. It worked fine. Then I did the Epic Experience a day later.
I went to CWM3 and tried to flash Epic Experience. No dice. Went with SyndicateROM Frozen instead and it works great!
Is anyone working on a way for Macs/Linux to root their EC05 Samsung Epic to CWM 3.0.0.6/EXT4?
I'm sure a lot of users would appreciate it =P

Need the stock eg30.tar for my epic touch 4g, i accidentally did a restore from a evo that was on my sd card and totally f***** my phone, but i do have odin still
acs is down like always any mirrors please anyone?
Or any tar file that will restore it tried a kernel wont work
need eg30 tar megaipoad or anysites?

actually he said he accidentally did a restore from an evo that was on his sd card, so that wouldn't technically make him dumb being as nandroids are usually titled by date default. prolly an sd from his prior phone..people here that actually don't contribute but just use all the devs hard work on there phones seem to have started acting like dicks lately with all the worthless smartass replies. I'm not naming any names, these people know who they are and prolly already hate there lives as it is...end rant

MOD EDIT: Now now - don't get your undies in a bunch
I used the 1click root for the sprint galaxy s2 i9100 el29 it worked great but i can not get the clockworkmod to flash, it downloads but when i restart i always get the stock recovery not the clockwork. I have tried every version it comes up with when you tell it to install but no joy

I would use sfhubs auto root. if its the one click I'm thinking of I wouldn't even touch it dude. seriously between qbkings videos and sfhubs autoroot it couldn't get easier.

this phone is sph d710. the screen is wrong. do not flash anything for the i9100
could kinda pont me in a direction of where to go to get a good rom for this beast
