So I showed my phone off to a friend and she loved it. She was a Blackberry user and loved how fluid my phone is and it's feature set. For the record I have a Samsung Focus.
She came to me today with her brand new phone "just like mine" and was wondering how to make the screen look like mine does. I looked at her phone and she bought an iPhone 4...
/sigh
She thought for sure my phone had to be an iPhone because who else is there?
I wonder if this lack of knowledge will be the doom of WP7...
it's like how people want to know the difference between an ipod and an mp3 player.
blame the retailers. and blame us geeks for knowing too much.
To OP......guess you didn't pass on enough info to your friend. I have a mate who after playing with my HD7 ditched his iPhone & bought an HD7 the next day. I keep passing on info about updates to him as coming from iPhone it's obvious to him a lot of features he's been used to are currently missing. Guess we've gotta keep flying the flag for this wonderful OS until MS catch up.

I told her multiple times it was a Windows phone. I guess it just didn't sink in. I have gotten over ten new WP7 users at work and 3 friends jumped on it out of work. I am doing my part! lol
A lot of the doctors I work with think anything Microsoft is evil and Apple is righteous (how backwards they have it) so converting them is a challenge but I am working on it.
Here come to all retards at my school, who have iPhone. They can sing out loud the song "Windows Phone sucks, iPhone rocks" for all day... Since i am the only one in the school have the Windows Phone.
The lacks of understanding the different between Windows Mobile 6.5 and Windows Phone 7, also some missing features , make they feel good about their iPhone.
My Friend also proud of his iPhone because his Fruit Ninja version run smoother than the Windows Phone version and that mean my phone sucks! LMAO...
Even i show them the correctly example of how Windows Phone 7 beat the crap out of iOS4 in speed and multi-tasking, they just tell me to shut up and they don't even care because they know the iPhone is the best! LOL...
Not only me, even Android user at school be blamed about this too...
The respond that i hear about my phone usually : "Okay, that's cool, but your phone sucks d*** "
I have nothing to tell them because they are all retarded, they don't even know what the different between Megabyte and Gigabyte is...

Ah, the insecurities of youth. We've all been there. Your friends will look back one day and realize how stupid they were. Just enjoy your phone and don't worry about what others think. You'll be a happier person because of it.

I just smile and laughing at them because they are being so stupid. They can laugh at me, but they don't even know what they are actually laughing about... Since i am the student from another country, so they think they are smarter than me...
Tell her to return the iPhone and take her yourself to get a new WP7... or there are ways to make the iPhone look like the WP7

Did you tell her to take it back?
Yeah, I suggested she bring it back.
I think her reality matrix is blown right now though. How could a non-Apple product be so much better?! The commercials say that's not right!?
Everyone who looks at my phone asks me if it is a iPhone. Like mentioned before they only seem to know about Blackberry and Apple. Unless they are of a younger age they usually are not familiar with Android products either.
I was in a Panda Express watching a baseball game on my phone through Slingplayer. A woman commented on how awesome that app was and how its so neat what you can do on iPhones these days.

BB users are desperate for anything other than a BB these days, Lol.
BTW (not to the person I quoted, someone else after him) it's not cool to generalize an entire class of people as idiots just because they prefer another product.
And I'm still wondering why my post that said the above was deleted out of this thread...
I've lost count of the number of times someone has accused my HD7 of being a bloody iPhone.
I always take great pains to correct them and to point out the iPhone is merely a minority interest in the great pool of smartphones out there. Apple have less than 50% of the smartphone market, therefore if you see someone with a smartphone, the chances are it is NOT an iPhone.

What Jim said is accurate. The iPhone's marketshare is in the minority in the smartphone sales. But boy that is a surface analysis of the market.
The iPhone is the best selling smartphone in 2010. If someone was interested in walking around with multiple smartphones from the same maker then I would see the point of citing marketshare.
I could understand if you owned a Samsung Galaxy device and it be mistaken for an iPhone, but not an HTC. When you see the UI you would have to see the difference immediately.
This discussion is pointless anyway.

Today june 10 i walk into a Orange shop in the UK to ask a question as i was having some network issue and wanted to know if it was from the carrier side of things But when i got in the shop i got distracted because there was a couple there to upgrade a phone ( the wife was ) you know they were speaking loud so me been nosey started tolisten keenly
Well the husband was saying to his wife get the Lg e900 which is a Windows Phone and the salesman was saying to get a HTC Wildfire S well this lady explain and said i want it for basic internet browsing, facebook app and a few other things and so on.
The lady herself really like the Lg e900 but didnt wanna chose it ONLY because she trusted the salesman knowledge over her husbands ( which was obviously the wrong thing to do ) so he the husband kept saying i know my wife for 18 years and i know what she'll like this is a guy that doesnt own a WP7 himself but obviously done his research unlike the salesperson. But he got so fed up of telling his wife so he said (you know what honey get HTC just know that i will not be coming to return it with you.
Like i said this woman liked the Lg WP7 over the HTC Android but because the Orange guy kept saying get the Htc she was a little convinced, so I (just a random guy in the shop) walked over and handed her my own LG e900 and said heres a live model give it a go then decide for yourself, she loved the tiles she like zune i explained it was a simple to use phone and never have to worry update the software been upto date showed her facebook and so on. Right there and then the lady was convinced her husband was smiling all the way through because he knew his wife was confused.
And yes she walk out the store with LG Wp7 maybe my phone broke so i could help someone else out. Microsoft really need to step into these retail stores if they're going to sell Windows Phone because the salesteam dont have a clue and are not promoting the platform. The guy did not have a clue about windows phone he ask me if it was easy to use just imaging that. If i wasnt there at that time the woman would have gone home not even knowing how to set up a email on her Wildfire becuase of confusing UI on the phone... i dont know what to think
I agree its pretty bad. I would think MS has gotten wind of this, but if not, they are going to get it now with all the blogs running stories on it (like the PCMag article). Not only do they typically not have a clue the difference between WM & WP, they are almost always hellbent on selling iPhone or Android, and have plenty of misinformation on the wp7 as a whole.
Its very easy to sway the typical consumer as they will not have much knowledge on platforms, and need to rely on the sales reps to guide them. This is not helping wp7.
Now now. Android, u see is a mature platform which doesn't have a confusing ui. What's confusing? A 5 page homescreen where u can put some Widgets to dress up? Then press a button at the bottom and access your apps in alphabetical order? I think that is a much cleaner ui. And no offence but wp7 has no 3d games which can entertain u for countless hours when ur stuck somewhere. So no disrespect to another os. And btw, when u first start a android phone it takes u thru a setup guide including logging in to ur gmail.

Exactly this poor woman didn't have a clue, her husband said she all liked the Omnia 7 but it was too big which tell me she was more interested in the wp7 she just wanted a phone that was easy to use for Facebook and social stuff.
The salesman had a Motorola Atrix which I'm guessing is a good android dualcore phone but a 600mhz Wildfire running android can't compare with wp7 at all. Its just bad. Funny enuff there were 2 wp7 sales guy there I'm guessing they didn't notice what was going on right under thier noses doe becus when I convince the lady they were the ones that showed her how to use the phone.

There was an article just yesterday about that: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386647,00.asp
Microsoft certainly knows the issue but I think they're waiting for Mango and Nokia to be ready to make a proper push. Alos they need to make Apple like TV adverts to show people how easy it is to use instead of the generic spots they're running at the moment. That way people would walk into the shop knowing what they want and won't be dependent on salesmen. Mind you I had a similar experience with Android... My girlfriend was due an upgrade (from a Blackberry) so I advised her to go for a Nexus S to get stock Android, good battery life, Gingerbread and all future updates fast. I have a Windows Phone myself but knowing her she would be frustrated by the lack of apps (most of what she uses isn't on WP7 yet) and broken notifications/tiles.
The guy fought her on the choice, saying the Nexus S was the worst Android phone . He wanted her to go for a Galaxy S 2 because of the huge screen and dual-core processor. I mean, come man you're talking to a woman who will mostly use the phone for basic purposes so
a) 4.3" is way too big a screen and
b) what's dual-core to her? She couldn't care less, she's not a geek.
Salesmen are usually useless and don't know what they're talking about.
The woman didn't care about 3d games or what os is more mature. She actaully used my phone with her own hands and knew exactly what she was getting. Fair enough if she prefered the android phone but I believe the salesman was trying to sell her one strictly because he used one and didn't have a clue about the other os. I'm quite sure the wildfire does not use the latest version of android and only god knows when she would of got it and how troublesome it would have been for her. I ain't disrespecting another Os just talking from experience

For gadget geeks like us, Android isn't confusing. It's actually the easiest system of them all for all-around usefulness. But for ordinary everyday users, yes, Android can be quite confusing compared to the utter simplicity of WP7. You can't get more simplistic than WP7 and that is what the ordinary user will desire. WP7 has 2 screens. One screen is where the apps are. The other screen is the live tiles of the chosen apps. There is no confusion of how to add widgets on a screen or find specific features to enable. The ordinary user will most assuredly be confused by Android at first. But if they did stick with it and put a little time into knowing it, it will become utterly simple to them. The out-of-the-box simplicity, though, goes to WP7. There is really no learning at all. They just tap the tile of the app they want to use and off they go.
The ordinary user can also simply go into the app drawer of Android and tap an icon of any app they want to use, but the customizing features in Android cause them to be confused about how they need to use Android....do they add the widget to a screen to make it work properly or do the enable some menu setting to make it work properly. Maybe they feel they aren't getting the most out of the apps they want to use because they don't understand Android completely right out of the box.
As I said, for us, Android is a no-brainer. But we are acutely familiar with it. The ordinary customer who wants a system to be familiar right from the box will find WP7 fits the need. And the quality and smoothness of WP7 will sell them immediately. Then when they have used it for a while, they will start seeing how reliable it is and be quite content with it in its utter simplicity.
They probably get better commission if you take an android phone. Simple.
Especially a cheap low end device like a wildfire.
It's not like a salesman actually gives a crap about what's right for the customer, once your out of that door it's not his problem anymore.

I said this on a different forum, and I believe it is relevant in this thread.
MS does a good job of having their reps go around to stores like Office Depot, Best Buy, etc to inform reps about their products, give them free stuff, and in general make the sales reps have positive things to think about MS. They need to do this in the mobile channel, otherwise this is going to be a even harder uphill battle for them. They can advertise all they want, but getting on the good side of sales reps is where it is going to help them a ton.

Actually, walked into a Verizon store about a week and a half ago and asked if they had the Trophy in yet as it was rumored to be in some stores. The rep immediately asked me why I wanted a WP7. Then tried to sell me an android. I left. BUt, afterwards I got to thinking, and went back to the store.
I asked him if they received a larger commission on android phones and he said, no. So, I asked why he was so intent on pushing android over WP7. He claimed that wp7 was only good for business purposes but not for everyday use, "social stuff" and games. It was obvious that he was confusing it with WM. He also had an android.
I showed him my DVP and some games and "social stuff". Told him about the finer points of WP7 and that it wasn't WM. He had to admit it was cool. Told him when the Trophy came in, play around with it and learn about it.
Otherwise, this was a typical in-store scenario.

Absolutely the same experience I get everywhere. Why do you want windows phone? Why not get android?
It gets to the point to where I say either you give me what I want or I leave this store you don't get comission, and I demand users don't give the store patronage...
Then I get what I want =)
That brings back the question... Is the Windows name hurting WP7? Reading your post it seems it does.

I'd say the Windows name definitely gives people a slightly negative first reaction, but I think that will subside over time as people see the quality of product MS is releasing as of late. I admit, I didn't give wp7 the time of day when I first saw it. I thought the tiles were ridiculous. Boy was I wrong. But a few months after its release I started looking at it more and tried it, it took about 5 minutes to fall in love with its modern UI, and see where MS was headed.
The media being 90% pro apple doesn't help them any either. Its amazing how much coverage of Apple goes on, and how little goes on about MS. And the tone of the coverage is much different for the respective companies as well. But I do think respect for MS is steadily growing as of late, and people will not be able to ignore the quality of their products for very long.

I still think it's all down to advertising, people need to see what the WP7 experience is about on their TV. Apple gets criticism for the adverts they put out but that's what talks to people. Sure every iPhone feature exists on other phones but they've never been advertised so simply as to make someone think "I wish I had that". This is what Microsoft needs to do once Mango is out to make people wish they had a WP7 even before stepping into a shop.

+1 on that. I rarely see advertisments for WP7 over here in Germany. And the few I see point out features Android and iOS is already famous for. From my point of view what they need to let people know is what makes WP7 unique. First of all the UI, but not to forget about how deeply features are integrated into the system in comparison to other mobile OSes. And of course the ease of use even for people who are not as much of a geek as most of us here at XDA are. Which is still the majority of smartphone users.

email is fairly simple on any platform now. username, password, sync options, done.
i hear ya being an evangalist for your chosen platform. nothing like helping a person out.
this past week, i paid attention around the hotel (vacation @ the beach) and noticed one wp7 being used by the pool. everything, and i mean everything (the maids too) was android. i'd count 8 android devices for every 2 iphones. really surprised at the ratio myself.
sooooo, the one wp7 device was a teenage/twentysomething girl @ the pool, and her friends are all "Hey what is that ?" i'm assuming they didn't recognize the UI. she showed them, and they were impressed with the "swooshies" of the UI. there was a bar, so i'm assuming anything that looks neat to a 20 something crowd is 'swooshie' after a few drinks.
a couple of minutes into her impromptu demo, they said, who made it ? she answered samsung... and they asked again, "No, i mean like is that a new android, cause it's not my iphone!"
when she replied "it's a windows phone, my dad develops or something"
immediately there was no interest. none. back to texting, fb'ing, whatever 20somethings do poolside on handsets.
keep in mind i'm watching my kids play (not drown) and there's music, beach, a fire pit, etc so plenty to distract me. the level of crickets chirping silence after declaring it was 'windows' was astonishing.
ignorance ? yep. bliss ? yep.
i did notice two other wp7 devices while i was logging WAP's from the room though. lets assume the wp7 users were very techy, and trying to hack the crap ATT wireless access points, cause otherwise their connections were not secured.
my age group is a bunch of idiots. Time and time again, we don't know anything...the above example proves that
If you don't believe me I'll link the articles (some guy on this site said I was lying), so much news about WP7 being dead in the water, bad sales and a bunch of other stuff, all this is going to do is push people away. I really hope the whole Nokia/MS Ad blitz works...

Simple answer, they don't know any better. Getting advice from sales people who don't know what they're talking about. Plus, there's quite a few who don't even know about WP7.
its due to Android and iOS having their fanbase already established, the bad rep "windows mobile" left which leaves the impression that wp7 is like wndows mobile 7 (they should have called it something more similar to xbox or zune imo) lacking features at launch and so on. personally, after installing Mango, im convinced that WP7 is mature enough to be my full time OS. just love the ui design, smoothness, and overall integration with all things microsoft and social networks

people in press always loved/love apple. they are the ones in most companies that use macs, while the rest of the companies departements are pc only. they obviously love their iphones, too (and it makes sence, if you know and work with apple products only).
they are the kind of people that still drool if someone makes a bluescreen joke, or a virus joke. they, btw, often still think bill gates is in charge of microsoft.
so it all makes sense. i continue to do my part for wp7. so far, quite some converts happened. and without all-to-active propaganda. just gave it into the hands of some people, answered the few questions they might have had, and let them decide.

lately while i have been going out i have been seeing more windows phones out in the wild. Although where i am at i see like 25 iphones a few droids but i never saw windows phones. Well now i am actually seeing windows phones out in the wild occasionly. 2012 looks like it could be a good year for windows phones. Who knows maybe 2012 will be the year of windows phones?
Sounds promising. Which phone do you have?
Yes I beleive once they drop Apollo the masses will come flocking unless iphone 5 is real promising, but people are going to start looking for a change and I beleive WP7 will be it for them. WP7 is already striking the interest of many but so many people see the features Android and iOS has to offer and they end up following the sheep. Seen it happen numerous times. Once we get a compeitive phone on the market then we can really compete.

At what point in sales numbers do people quit being people, and become sheep ?
Its more of people following the fad, for no good reason, at least the people ive ran into and asked myself, me personally I dont care. But it seems that people that arent techie seem to go where everybody else go without trying other things on the market. This girl at my job was absolutely tired of her Android because it ran like crap. Obviously her next choose was iOS, I told her to look at WP7 and I also gave her good reasons to get the WP7. Few days later she gets the iOS. My cousin who is an avid Nokia guy and always stood by them was looking to get a Nokia WP7 device. Few weeks later he gets the HTC Amaze, reasoning: the Amaze is the most powerful phone on the market. Even though I told my cousin WP7 doesnt need the same power to operate like it should he still choose the Android device. From my experience with several other people it seems like they are scared to step out of the realm and try something different. Therefore they follow the sheep without giving the WP7 a try. Im not mad at there decision because im not the one using their device.
I don't think WP7 will rise again. I don't really know what deal thought Nokia to do with Microsoft, but everything is far behind possible. Mango should have brought at least the same functionalities tan Android, but at this time, I don't have even wifi theetering on my LG, where the most of branded LG have. everything is missing in WP7, and I saw the new galaxy phone with Android 4 will be there soon. maybe in a couple of months I'll get my theetering, where the Android and iOS will get a new load of things

Well that's probably because the App selection on WP7 is even worse than on Android and basically no one owns it, a lot of people buy Android for the same reason they buy iPhones, they know the name, WP7 is new and no one likes change much. WP7 is VERY nice, but the features are boring, and yeah it brings a new UI but that's all that it does, I don't think it will be a big OS anytime soon, Android and iOS will be in the top for a long time.
Give this to the second page for it to descend into the usual "WP7 sucks" thread. Cant allow the spread of any positive WP7 news now, can we?
IOS still sucks but android ice cream sandwich has surpassed windows phone in almost every way. I think tango will decide the fate for WP. If it doesn't add at least 500 features like mango, It will be too late

hold your horses there, how many phones will be running vanilla android= a few. Excuse me but every windows phone runs amazing and yes i read reviews for ics but android is still android and over time it will run like crap. I owned an android and used it now i am on windows phone and loving it. I dont think i can go back to android. IOS sells very well so i dont think you can say it "sucks" but the interface is still quite boring and i would never get an "i" device.
Just my 2 cents, If you compared iOS, Android & WP7 for their 1st year achivement, then you will see how fast the trend is that WP try to catch up to compete with Android & iOS.
Conclusion is,
take what you love, rather than bash it after you get it, whether it is an Android, an iDevice, or a WP.

Tango is a minor update, the equivalent of NoDo. It's not going to be adding anything major except potentially support for things like LTE and NFC. There were also early rumors of system wide search being added.
Mango has put WP7 at a decent place. It isn't up to par with iOS or Android but it is usable. It just needs attractive devices and a better catalog of apps. Hopefully Nokia's US devices will keep things moving until the major update later next year.
I was showing a female friend my HD7 the other day and i could not believe it when she said the interface was cluttered and ugly, this coming from some one who owns and iPhone 4. The iphone GUI was cutting edge when it came out but endless pages of applications that offer no information rather then the occasion number to indicate an event is rather outdated. Although Live tiles have not been implement as well i and most probably Microsoft would of hoped.
Her only problem with the WP7 interface was that is scrolls down, to be honest i would not be surprised if they change this in a future update to co inside with all the other metro UI offerings. I love my HD7 but i agree Microsoft has to really pick up the ball and significantly increase its list of features and specifications if they want to compete.

Wether ICS will "run like crap" (your speculation)with some time/usage or not does not matter. What matters is it will be yet another major update to the OS, enough to pull in more new customers and prompt people that like signing contracts to re-up.
Previously everyone speculated that Mango and its 500 features was going to slaughter all the other mobile os's. When that didn't happen, the rumor mill turned to "when we get some cool hardware" we will slaughter ios/bb/android.
I belive the post above mine mentiones a girl saying wp7 is "ugly".. while she prefers the 3 deminsional ios icons, and lots of them. I've heard other people call wp7 "flat" before, but this is the first mention on xda. The changes wp7 is going to have to have will include a visually stunning CHANGE from the current setup. New customers have seen it, for over a year now. If mango, new nokia phones, and another small update isn't the right lure, what is ?

Advertising. They have really got to create interest, create a desirable image, or tout features that the others do not have.......
You know, stuff like...
A group of business people outdoors on a jobsite going over something. There is a problem, and people in the group begin fumbling with obvious androids and iphones and computers trying to get the information. Zoom in on the pretty woman with the windows phone who opens excel, grabs the info, edits it, and then becomes the hero of the situation while showing the others the information. Someone will say, "what kind of phone is that", and then Cue the "Windows Phone 7" logo.
or
Two college students are walking toward a mall, they see three pretty girls. "We should call Shaun to meet up with us", one says. "Yeah right", says the other, "he's probably gaming on his xbox". "I'll text him and see if he can come", cue the image him texting in the background. In the foreground, close up on the windows phone 7, hit xbox live, and him messaging and getting a reply. Zoom back in on the texter who says, "he didn't reply". The Winphone7 user says, "he'll be here in 15 minutes". "How do you know that?" the first clueless student says..... Cue the Windows Phone 7 logo.
They have got to advertise. I am expecting a blitz when they launch the Nokia phones here in America. We will see

Sad but true. People are just not open to change. I showed my phone to several friends. The ones using Symbian were instantly amazed, but the ones who had used Android found it ugly. As if a sea of confusing icons is the only way a UI should look like. They say, "S**t, you can't theme it to something different?"
I can only feel sad for their lack of understanding. I owned a Nexus S, and i am just not going back to it.
I see that there are no threads here or comparisons between these two or videos...
I know that they are completely different OSs but WP has always been bragging about smoothness of their OS.
From recent reviews of Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean, i see no reason to ever complain about lagging.
For those who're talking about instability of Android, that is a personal choice of installing ****ty apps and tweaking it in the ways it wasn't
supposed to be tweaked anyway (Android has matured enough from random/"no reason" crashes).
The main thing which I'm interested in is speed and fluidity.
Its dead here bro. No point in comparing something dead to the living.

Well it is wrong to compare as WP7 (dead) with JB. Wait for fall and than we can compare WP8 with Android. And I give 100% WP8 wins Android in all ways. Eco system between PC and WP8 or other devices will be best than Android or Apple. And believe me developers move from android to Microsoft. Because any app for WP8 works on PC as well or PC app works with WP8. Better gaming etc.

^ I fell for the exact same vaporware. Do some research and you'll see that is just not true.
Besides, people purchase real programs for the desktop, not apps. Simply because the full web is at your fingertips.

The customers mindset is not the same between desktop and mobile. The salespitch to devs is that EVERYONE will be buying apps like crazy..... But it didn't happen on wp7 yet, and w8 is not exactly turning people into sheeple like Apple has.
Also:
"wait till mango comes out, its gonna kill android"
"wait till tango"....
"wait till Apollo"....
"wait till surface".....
"wait till" insert new vaporware here.
It's not happening. People simply aren't waiting for Microsoft to wake up and catch up. People are buying NOW, today, and a lot of products.

Real PC apps won't work on WP8. I thought the same but i read a bunch of things and even tablet versions of Windows 8 wont support it. It's logical for PC to support mobile apps, but the other way around, not so much.
Edit: Look at your windows programs (assuming you're not using W8). You're not getting them on your phone.

Oh well. I enjoy my dead software for the moment. Then in a few months when some new Nexus or some Nokia WP8 thing comes out I'll figure out what to pick. I've been using WP for 7 months now, I know its flaws but I still like it, good design never gets old I guess. I'm not a fanboy of any OS, when I'm bored about my phone I pick a new one, simple as that. I'm not going balls deep with any platform tho, so I don't really feel like "bragging" about what I have/"bashing" what I don't. Honestly seeing that JB is now smooth can only make me happier, especially because I'm getting a TF300 soon. Peace out.

I did the same thing and got a Samsung galaxy s3. The deal breaker for me was wp7 would not be upgraded so basically it means that my Samsung focus us dead. i feel horrible that the poor people that recently bought a Nokia lumia now has a dead device. Now ms said sometime in the fall, so if us carriers like att has not even thought about testing it, even windows 7.8 would be released to carriers that will take their time to push next year.

I recently sold my Omnia 7 because I figured that it will become worthless when WP8 arrives since it can't upgrade.
Looking at the WP8 presentation, I'm deeply disappointed in MS because the main thing they're talking about is still "live tiles that no other phone
has". That's just pathetic. Resizeable tiles?.... It wasn't even MS that brought the idea... I saw it about a year ago from some guy here on xda and
now it's their main thing. Other things are just WP trying to catch up with Apple And Android with the same things they already have (wow... offline maps).
I'm too switching to Jelly Bean. Don't have enough for s3, but closely enough for used Galaxy Nexus

so, a beta release of wp8 is something you seriously consider competition for a 3 month old jellybean?
what do you expect to see to see winning over android as you stated 100% ? sales?
the portion of your comment suggesting that developers are just slobbering at the opportunity to jump from Android to wp8 sounds desperate and delusional. you might find some Nokia engineers out of work and be grudgingly apply for a seat, but I doubt that too.

What I don't understand is the fact that some of you guys lost hope in MS/WP and switched to an Android device by now but you're still discussing here with your everyday pessimistic posts against MS.

Exactly. People should really start sticking either to the general forum or simply to the one of the OS they HAVE CHOOSEN. This kind of stuff only encourages flame wars and pointless random *****ing. I do understand that this is a critical moment for the platform, but one MUST have something better to do then cry about it all all day, let's try to be constructive, please.
My intentions when opening this thread is to see a real comparison between features and performance of WP (no matter which version) and Android Jelly Bean.
Sorry if I started another flame thread.
I doesn't matter if its 7.5 or 7.8. MS was always talking about smoothness of their OS, but Jelly Bean responded with Project Butter.
What is MSs response to that?

Ok, you may have a point for some devs with the rt/8 possibilities. as stated, they're both vapor ware still. will it cause developers to salivate thinking of the money to be made? dunno
so what will get the consumers minds racing, then? you need consumers to feed those devs .
mmmm, even this is off topic it seems. sorry, op, but its difficult to compare vapor to a working product.
