I'm looking for an app or file that will allow me to change the flash pattern of the notification LED on my HTC Incredible. Since the light is fairly dim and sometimes difficult to view from an angle, I would like to make it flash more frequently.
I've tried searching the forums but haven't had any luck. I'm rooted, S-off, running Warm Two Point Two RLS5.3 with CWM 2.5.
It would be awesome to have some info on this.

While trying to find a way to get the trackpad to pulse I stumbled upon this thread where cyanogen modified lights.vision.so to flash the top LED and pulse the trackpad.
The link in that thread is now dead, is anyone aware of where I can download that file?
Are you just trying to pulse the trackpad? This is the default behavior of the phone on notifications---it'll pulse white (it's just that the pulse is really slow). The lights.vision.so file added the blinking light in the speaker grill (normally the battery low/charge light). If you are trying to add that functionality, it is built in to a lot of the custom ROMs. You can also try using the app "LED me know" (a lot of users have said good things about it but I haven't tried it myself). If you simply want to have that same functionality without an app, Pershoot has the file on his website. I'll have to find the original thread though.
EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=851685 (Note, this is the same as is used in the CM roms).
Thanks for the link. I'm using LEDmeKnow right now but don't like that it flashes the trackpad light and was looking for a way to make is fade in/out like on the Nexus One. I'll try that library and see if that does what I want.
Followed instructions on the download page and ended up with no notification lights unless I used LEDmeKnow
Trying to see who knows what colors are possible for the notification LED on the SGSIIE4GT. I am rooted, but on any stock (or stockish) ROM there is a red notification LED color and then blue when it is charged. So I flashed over to CM7.2 alpha RC6 (because CM integrated LED controls into the settings menu) but I have no color options. I can only control the pulse. Interesting though is that when running this version of Cyanogenmod, the "charged" notification LED color is magenta. I also tried downloading ChompSMS (which allows you to assign custom LED colors to incoming SMS/MMS notifications) but I got no LED at all! Now running TNz Blend ROM and back to the same old red notification LED and blue charged LED.
Not sure if I am running into limitations of software (or drivers) or if this is a physical limitation of the LED only being capable of three colors (red, blue and magenta).
Anyone know about this?

This has been discussed many times before. You can get red, blue, and magenta is a mix of both. you can use blink from the market to control this but no magenta option.

Sorry for the double post then. On that note, what app do you use to browse forums on your phone? I am using tapatalk and used the search function to find a thread on this topic which brought back no relevant results.
Thanks for your help.

Use the XDA app in the Market.
I know there are a bunch of threads on how to change the color, and I use blink to do it right now myself. However, most of the threads I have read talk of the issue where the colors flash in kinda the opposite way they should, constantly on, blink off then back on. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Okay first question, is there a way to make it show weather not using my location, on the lock screen? It only always weather in my current location and I don't want gps running all day and it takes way longer to update weather since it's also checking my location.
Secondly, is there a way I can adjust my notification led, such as cm10, it blinks too slowly for my liking.
Thirdly, is it possible to get quick reply while testing, like from cm10 as well?
Fourthly, can I get the notification sounds from cm10 without rooting, as I love ring tones and sms notifications.
On a side note, I love cm10 but hate that it has no task manager lol and I'm not cool with losing s pen functionality.

Having upgraded to my N4 I am looking for a nice lightweight SMS app.
I used to use SMSPOPUP on my Desire but I found that it would not flash the notification light on the N4, also reading latest reviews it would appear to have a few other issues with newer Androids.
Whilst on the subject of the notification light I presume it does not light up when on charge like my old desire and it is supposed to flash white for an SMS?
Sorry for the Questions, I've only had my new toy a day

There's an app called Light Flow that lets you control the led color for many events and notifications.

GoSMS flashes a green notification when I get an SMS and yes, it flashes even while charging. :good:
The SMS app included with the CM10 ROM has a popup feature built into it. I used to use GoSMS but have found this new SMS app sufficient.
Light Flow works well and flashes my LED.
Try handcent sms.

Preface: I've asked about how to disable capacitive backlights on stock TW ROMs, and now I independently found half of the answer.
By looking inside EpicParts.apk from CM-based ROMs, I obtained the position of soft key "device": /sys/devices/virtual/sec/t_key , and by modding the file "brightness" under it, capacitive key backlight turn off.
However, on TW ROMs this never persists no matter how I set the permission / owner, while on Incredible S, after modding I can mod the permission to r--r----- to prevent system from reverting this setting.
Plus, on pre-CM10 era ROMs, "Epic 4G Settings" is there but even if I disable the backlight, it always light on for a wee second every time I unlock, which is pretty annoying as I use onscreen keys heavily.
Digging further into CM10's EpicParts (which can totally turn backlight off, regardless of unlock), it seems that it creates two files under the folder, "touchleds_disable" and "touchleds_voltage", but I don't know how this behaves, nor can I imitate the behaviour.
So... it'll be appreciated if anyone can explain to me how EpicParts (of JB) works and how I can reproduce its effects. Thanks all

I don't really have an answer to your question but I have a question for you lol. What you did disabled the lights completely? Like even the little flash they give when they are pressed on? They're just completely off?

Yes, that's the effect I'm looking for, and by now only CM10 and PA 2.5+ can do that; however, if I choose to disable them completely, the "Recent Apps" view will automatically pop up randomly, and I dunno why
