I need an H3G branded rom for the DESIRE HD. I have found a post in the forums
but the file seems to be corrupted. Does anyone have this ?
Are you sure that h3g has branded roms?
I bought mine with a h3g contract and the phones in austria seem to have unbranded stock roms.

Yeah my phone came with a branded rom originally. Not sure where i can find it...

Thank you for your answer regarding the easy ace removal tool. what i would like to know is do i have to go install a new RUU from htcdev.com? because i download the one for h3g but the feedback i got was that it wasnt the right download for the right model. and can i continue with the rest of the process on htcdev without installing a new RUU?

Depends. What did the tool say when you tried to run it? If you need a RUU and can't find a compatible one, make a goldcard and flash any RUU that supports hboot unlock.
cant root desire

Wait, how did you try to flash it? That link is for the boot splash, not the recovery. Download a recovery img, flash it from fastboot with "fastboot flash recovery *img filename*" and flash a ROM from the recovery.

i tried flashing it with this fastboot flash "fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.0-ace.img" from the tutorial at http://theunlockr.com/2012/10/02/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-htc-desire-hd/ and got that "writing 'recovery' ... FAILED (remote: not allowed)" error. i tried the link in my previous promised to set my fon to ENG S-OFF which would in turn solve the "(remote: not allowed)"error and enable me to use fastboot.
Um...is your phone in fastboot mode? Like, did you select fastboot from the hboot menu?
yes i did. and now this is what it says "FAILED (status read failed (too many links))". for some reason im unable to add the screenshot to the post else i would have. what does it mean "too many links"?
still not working
@bananagranola no further tips for me?
Nope. Never seen than error before. Maybe someone else has.

I did a search (was search function not working when you tried??) and found this:
http://www.iloveabath.co.uk/index.php?dir=RUUs/
It's in there along with a few others.
You'll lose root of course but as you were wanting the OTA official version I assume you're not fussed about that.
guys have been trying to find a solution for this, so far i'm not getting anywhere...
the thing is i'm gonna install custom rom and before that i felt doing nandroid backup
the thing is after booting up into HBOOT screen, i try going into recovery mode but the screen displays a red triangle with an exclamation.. then upon selecting volume up and power command i see the following error:

This will remove root access. But you can run unrevoked again and so you will get root access again. I don't see why this shouldn't work.

ERROR [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR
somebody has similar problem:
http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/231903-problems-installing-new-update-2-17-61-3-a.html
and this is what someone posted:
"The only thing you can do at present is to unroot by flashing the 2.29.405.2 RUU with your gold card in your handset. There isn't an Orange RUU available so that's not an option"
so i cant do?

If you want to root using old method, and you have Android 2.2 you will need to downgrade your radio first

Question. I just tried to update my one m8 to the new cm11 m9 Rom and I followed the guide but after I fastboot flash the boot.img I'm not taken to the screen where you choose to go to recovery I get the splash screen and then a black screen and when I try to flash the zip in recovery it says it fails. Thanks in advance to any help.

Try using other version of the recovery or try flashing the ROM with CWM instead of TWRP.
