Hi all, i rescently attempted to root my desire running 2.2 but failed so downgraded to 2.1 and rooted it fine, i have since realised where i went wrong with rooting it on 2.2 (no drivers from htc sync) so now i have 2 questions
1. Is it worth me un-rooting, upgrading to 2.2 and rooting again?
2. Can i un-root as said in the tutorial on here or is there more steps to it as ive flashed the leedroid rom?
Thanks in advance!
If you flashed leedroid you have (the latest) 2.2 so why unroot and update? The only issue you might have is that you are using a old radio.

I just checked and it is 2.2, sorry this is all new to me lol many thanks for the reply its cleared a few things up for me.
One more thing though, i have flashed the psychosis 5.0 rom and i believe its an old version, i love the looks and layout of the rom, is there a more up to date rom with similar looks and layout?
Thanks
That Psychosis ROM is based on 2.2 (FRF91) so it's not old. It's just not really been updated in a while
Ah ok mate, thanks for the reply guys, more than helpful!

I downloaded the 2.2 leak and it updated my hboot to 0.93.0000
is there a possible way to downgrade the hboot or even get a stock rom back on the evo?
Sorry.....not at the moment...hang tight buddy.....sucks
I made the same mistake. I have a gut feeling root is going to take awhile to appear.
should be in q&a section by the way...
I'm getting an EVO for my wife today....depending on the hboot rev she gets, I may work on this exact issue today. I'll keep you updated.
Rofl.

Ug. I'm in the same boat. Stupid HTC leak.

I'm in the same boat, my PRL is 1.34_003
currently no there is no way to change the hboot or root a 2,2 phone.
additionally please ask questions in the proper forum in the future(Q&A)
Thread moved to Q&A.
Just to clarify, I am fully rooted... Trying to find out if the 2.2 update opens a door to fix the 1.34 PRI issue.
You may not be completely hopeless. When the 1.47 OTA came out I downloaded and flashed a "rooted" version (it apparently wasn't because it broke my root and updated my Hboot to .93 also); however, it didn't get rid of Super User.
If you still have Super User on your phone, connect to adb shell, type "su" to enable super user and reflash the eng build. I would revert all the way back to the original stock and flash to 2.2 from there.
I'm not sure how effed you are, but maybe my stoke of bad/good/bad/good luck may help you out.
No pri change
i had the same problem. All i did was flash original radios and wimax update, then flashed a 2.1 stock rooted rom. RUU wont work and software updates wont install either. From here all you have to do is flash stock recovery image and then you should be able to do a software update on your evo and go back to stock.

Ivan, mind shedding a bit of light here and typing up a small tutorial of how you went about this step by step?
Thanks in advance,

And thats what happens when you install a ROM that is not ROOTED... why you didn't just install avalaunch rom? he release his the same time HTC had the leak.
Just a question (maybe a stupid one, but i'm totally a noob with android)
I have a IT Fastweb branded desire, with hboot 0.75
I rooted it using unrevoked, flashing amonra recovery
Then i flashed a rooted stok froyo rom
Unfortunately i forgot to do a nandroid backup before flashing the froyo rom
The question is, can i downgrade to stock situation (branded eclair) just running the Fastweb RUU???
I'm reading the downgrade guide and i can't understand if i need all that work...
Thanks in advance
If it's the same version that came with the phone originally then yes, or with any releases since the original
Good.
Thank-you very much!

Hi all,
Need to revert my phone back to stock 2.1, do you just download the stock rom and flash??
What's the difference between then signed and unsigned versions?
I don't have a goldcard, never made one, is that a problem. I am currently running clockwork mod with oxygen. I have not s-off'd the phone.
Any info would be great as I have to return it to three to cancel my contract.
Cheers

Do you know what ROM was originally on the phone? This should be the first thing anyone does before rooting so you can go back if you need to
H3G android 2.1. That's all I know.
Any ideas?

Found an old post I made with some details about the original rom,
Radio 32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09
Hboot 0.83.0001
Rom Stock 2.1 Update 1
I cant find this rom to flash back to stock, can only find the two H3G roms on the sticky.
Anyone got any ideas on this, need some help fast please.
Cheers
Blinky
did you keep the backup from when you first rooted your phone?
I did, but the sd card failed and I lost everything. Can I flash either of the stock roms or will one of them, or both, kill the phone?
If you are on 3 UK then you could use the newest 3 ROM from shipped-roms.com
Thats it? No need to use a goldcard (the one I dont have) just run the exe and it'll flash the rom, radio and be back to stock again?
Cheers

Hello, SO I rooted my phone using Alpharevx a while ago, and it's been functioning very well. Recently, I flashed the ROM vivow gingerbread 4.08.605.3 by virtuous, and now my phone is unrooted?! I have flashed this before, and this didn't happen. So I'm wondering, how did this happen? Am I really unrooted? Or can I just flash another ROM that I have and become rooted again?

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Please delete this thread, somehow.
So i upgraded my Desire to the official 2.3 WWE Rom.
I"m now trying to install some App to SD custom software, which requires root. Tried different rooting methods in the tutorials (unrevoked, etc...) to no avail.
Can the official 2.3 ROM be rooted, or am i stuck with it since included stock HBOOT seems to be more recent than any version compatible with rooting softwares ?
Or did i miss something obvious ? :cyclops:
Did you use Revolutionary to root?
Use the below guide

Oh, OK. So it was that simple...
Thanks mate, worked like a charm. I owe you ! :good:
